Chapter 22: An Unforgettable Wedding
Chapter 22: An Unforgettable Wedding
Fake notes with the words "Sky Bank" printed on them were sent flying. The security guards had not
expected this and stood there looking stunned.
Phoebe was dumbfounded, her mouth agape. She looked ridiculous and even had a few notes stuck to
her hair.
"I specially printed these to commemorate the death of you and your ex-boyfriend's love."
After that, I grabbed May's arm and ran. "Come on!"
Five seconds later, Phoebe's enraged voice rang out from behind me. "Get them!"
Tsk, she was too slow. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
I smirked and picked up speed.
I had already been to this hotel several times before this and knew the layout much better than
Leonard's guards did.
Holding May's hands, I ran out into the corridor and made several twists and turns. Soon enough, we
lost the guards on our tail.
Once we were sure that we were out of danger, we stopped and looked at each other, trying to catch
our breath before bursting into laughter.
However, for some reason, it did not feel as gratifying as I had expected.
...
By the time I walked out of the hotel, the sky was already dark. I was afraid that Leonard would come
after me to settle the score, so I roamed around till late before heading home.
After reaching home, I took off my sweat-drenched clothes and threw them onto the sofa before
flopping onto the bed.
When I turned on my phone, there was news everywhere about Leonard and Phoebe's wedding.
"Shocking news! Young magnate's wedding suffers from a huge plot twist! The bride is in love with
another?"
"Incredible! Magnate's wedding causes the bride to break down as a pregnant ex-girlfriend crashes the
wedding!"
I clicked on one of the links.
The apartment was in complete darkness with my phone's screen being the only source of light.
Someone would probably get a fright if they were to see such a scene.
The link took a while to load before slowly displaying its contents.
Smack dab in the centre of the screen was a huge photo of Phoebe. She was holding her wedding
bouquet with a couple of fake notes stuck to her hair, looking dumbfounded. Beneath it, the photo was
captioned, "Leonard Nell's bride. P.S., the wedding did not work out."
...
I could not help bursting into laughter.
Reporters truly were good with their words. That simple caption was dripping with sarcasm and
mockery.
All of Phoebe's arrogance and pride had backfired on her.
Her wedding was completely ruined, and she was not able to marry Leonard. This was what she
deserved, though, and I had personally delivered it to her.
I really wanted to ask her whether she was satisfied with my "gift".
As I scrolled through the photos of Phoebe's humiliation, I flipped over leisurely and continued laughing
to myself.
"Does it delight you that much?"
In the darkness, someone suddenly spoke.
I sat up immediately, breaking into a cold sweat. "Who's there?!"
