Chapter 20: You Again?
Chapter 20: You Again?
Leonard took a couple of steps forward and said to May, "Since you claim that you're pregnant with my
child, I don't mind going to the hospital for a DNA test right now to prove my case..." Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Phoebe panicked at this and hurriedly said, "Leonard, if you leave now, what's going to happen to our
wedding?"
Leonard turned to look at her calmly. "Are you willing to marry me before we clear this matter up?"
"I..." For a moment, Phoebe was speechless.
It seemed like there was no way for her to answer this question correctly.
Obviously, Leonard was testing her as well. He knew May's child was not his, and have heard the
rumors about Phoebe.
May, on the other hand, was starting to lose her composure because of Leonard's request to do a DNA
test. She looked a little anxious.
At this moment, it was time for me to do my part. I broke away from Bell and quickly made myself
known.
"I'm sure everyone knows of a scumbag like him, right? He got someone pregnant, yet he's refusing to
admit it, and he's even making my sister marry him! I can't even imagine just how unfair this is for her!"
I deliberately made things out to sound like I was on Phoebe's side so that it would agitate the crowd
even more. I wanted to see how Leonard would react.
"Queena, you again?"
Leonard glanced at me, seemingly not too surprised. It made me feel a little nervous, though.
"What's wrong, Mr. Nell? Have you had so many jilted lovers that you can't keep track of them
anymore?" I sneered.
"You arranged all of this, didn't you?" Leonard asked.
Leonard's words made me flush a little. I quickly shielded May with my body, planning on continuing
with my act.
I consoled her, saying, "Don't be scared, okay? With all the witnesses present, we won't allow him to
get away with this. We'll make sure that you get the justice that you deserve!"
"Justice? Queena, who are you to decide what's just and what's not?"
Leonard's face was stormy.
I gulped.
Honestly, Leonard was terrifying when he was angry. However, since we were already at this stage, I
could not back down.
"You're right, Leonard," I retorted, trying to inject some bravado into my voice. "It's not up to me to
decide, but it's certainly not up to you either! Why should we believe that you're telling the truth?"
May seemed to return to her senses and chimed in, "That's right! It's not like you'll admit to fooling
around, will you?"
"Let's go to the hospital and get a DNA test done."
Leonard looked murderous. With that one sentence, he reached behind me to grab May.
Of course, I could not let him succeed. I hurriedly tried to protect May as she dodged him and sobbed,
wailing about how Leonard had mistreated her.
If we were not in such a situation, I would applaud her performance.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Bell looking like he had swallowed a fly.
I supposed that the current situation was probably really ridiculous.
"That's enough!"
Leonard forced out through gritted teeth, looking even more pissed off. He seemed to notice that
something was amiss and stopped trying to catch May. He snapped his fingers.
Several security guards immediately swarmed over to us.
Leonard pointed at May and ordered, "Catch her!"
