Chapter 90
Jerome dismissed the idea with irritation.
Even If things turned trickier to sort out, he wasn’t going to comfort her.
Tired of Connor’s advice, he shot Conner a cold glare. “I see your proposal is ready. Let’s do the
presentation in the meeting room.” © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Connor was caught off guard by the abrupt change of subject and pleaded, “Can’t you let me off the hook
this time?”
“No.” Jerome coldly rejected his plea.
“You can’t just vent your frustrations on me like this!” Connor protested.
Jerome gave him a cold stare. “Say one more word, and you’re done for.”
Feeling threatened by that warning, Connor went silent.
Meanwhile, Mikayla had reached Eduard’s house. When she passed the pen to Eduard, his face lit up with
joy.
“Jerome has excellent taste. This Laban Galileo Fountain Pen is truly splendid!
“I’ve always wanted one for my collection! Do you want to take a moment and check it out, Kay?” Eduard
commented excitedly.
“No, thanks.” Mikayla didn’t bother giving a glance at the pen Jerome had purchased. She wouldn’t have even touched it if it weren’t a gift for Eduard.
Uninterested in Eduard’s gift, Mikayla decided to excuse herself. “Hey Grandpa, I’ll be making some
perfumes in the workshop.”
Previously, she gifted Wanda some bathing salts and scented candles; she hoped to send something new
this time.
However, Wanda had no desire for luxuries. When Jerome suggested a gift for Eduard, Mikayla decided to craft a calming and sleep–inducing perfume for her.
“Sure, go ahead,” Eduard agreed without taking his eyes off his cherished pen. He was used to Mikayla. making perfumes at home.
Mikayla made her way to the workshop, which was situated at the end of the quiet and spacious backyard.
This was where her mother, Eliana Davidson, used to spend most of her time when she was alive.
Much like Eliana, Mikayla had a keen sense of smell since childhood and picked up the art of crafting perfumes from her mother.
Since becoming a professional perfumer required intense smell training, Eliana never made Mikayla go
through the same thing. She didn’t want her daughter to suffer
For that reason, making perfumes became more like a pastime for Mikayla. No one aside from Eduard knew about her real talent.
Mikayla spent the whole day making perfume in her workshop. When she saw the sun setting, she
decided to stay overnight.
Eduard understood her reasons. After all, crafting a perfume involved a meticulous process, and certain fragrances required some time to settle.
“Your room’s all neat and ready for you. Come now, you’ve been busy the whole afternoon. Let’s eat,” Eduard called out, inviting Mikayla to join him at the dining table.
The maid had laid out a spread of Mikayla’s favorite dishes, treating her to a satisfying feast.
After dinner, Mikayla joined Eduard for a stroll outdoors.
“I told Matilda off yesterday. She assured me she wouldn’t intrude into Jerome’s house or seek his assistance in the future,” Eduard said.
Mikayla was certain that Matilda wasn’t completely on board. She would probably still turn to Jerome for help.
To ease Eduard’s concerns, she smiled and said, “Let’s forget about it. Besides, Jerome said he’ll help.”
“I talked to Stephen about your idea of bringing in a professional team to handle things last time. He’s not too keen on the idea, but he said he’ll consider it.
“Your uncle has worked hard for the company over the years, so I can’t insist on him following my

advice,”
Mikayla agreed with a smile, “I get it. I was impulsive last time. Considering Uncle Stephen’s dedication to the company, asking him to give up control might not sit well with him.
“So I was thinking… What if we bring in an experienced vice president to support him?”
Hearing that, Eduard pondered for a moment before saying, “Well, I do have someone in mind.”
Mikayla quickly added, “Grandpa, make sure to follow the usual procedures when bringing that person into the company. It’ll help Uncle Stephen feel more comfortable working with them.”
“You mischievous rascal, always watching out for your uncle,” Eduard teased, poking her forehead.
The thing was, she couldn’t afford to not watch out for him.
She couldn’t ignore the fact that Stephen had replaced all the veteran employees with his own people.
Interestingly, Eduard seemed to be well aware of it but was choosing to ignore it.
Having her little scheme revealed by Ed
