CHAPTER 12
Chapter 12 Let’s Get Divorced
This was the third time. I wanted to tell Christopher the existence of the baby, but he rejected me each time. It was probably fate.
I was also glad I didn’t tell him, which would have made the divorce much simpler.
Jacquard was so big. After we divorce, maybe we wouldn’t have a chance to see each other again. Perhaps he would never know that we have a child together.
Elissa agreed with me when she heard my thoughts, “The child wouldn’t want a jerk for a father. It’s right not to tell
him.”
When I left the hospital after finishing the IV, it was just past 2:00 pm.
Elissa walked with me towards the parking lot, saying, “Your car has been taken to a car dealership for repairs. It was quite a serious collision. It will take about one week to fix. When your car is repaired, I’ll accompany you to pick it up. Wherever you want to go these days, give me a call. I’ll be there for you immediately.”
“You’re always around me. Don’t you work? Don’t worry. I still have a car.”
Christopher may not have given me much love, but he never shortchanged me in material things. He was generous with houses, cars, and money. Little did he know, all I wanted was love.
“The doctors said you need to be observed for two more days at home. You want to drive. Are you dreaming?”
Elissa subconsciously reached to touch my face, but seeing the bandage on my forehead, she angrily withdrew her hand.
We got into the car and quickly left the parking lot.
Elissa wanted to smoke, but considering I was pregriant, she put the cigarette back.
“I was thinking of accompanying you to the cemetery, but you’ve just been through a shock, and you’re pregnant. Let’s forget it. Focus on sorting things out with Christopher first. Once everything is settled, you can visit your parents.”
“Okay.”

The car headed towards my house, a place soon that wouldn’t be my home anymore. New people would move in and erase all traces of me from the place that I had carefully decorated.
Christopher would soon forget that there was once someone like me in his life.
It wasn’t until I got back home that I realized my phone battery was dead.
As soon as I plugged it in, several missed call notifications popped up. They were calls from Christopher.
This was the first time he had called me so many times, but it was after I had already decided to divorce.

In addition, there was a photo sent from an unknown number. It was from the same number that sent a video half a
month ago.
In the picture, the CEO of the Valence Group, Christopher, was holding popcorn and an ice cream cone. Standing closely beside him was Evelyn. This happened before I woke up in the hospital.
They were just on a date. Christopher had left his wife, who was going to the hospital, It was a touching and dramatic scene.
to be with the woman he liked.
1 forced a bitter smile and sat by the window with my phone for a long time. Christopher didn’t come back.
In the evening, Donna called me for dinner.
1 had no appetite during the meal. However, considering the child, I forced myself to eat a bowl of oatmeal and a few shrimps.
Then I wiped my mouth with a napkin.
I got up and called Elissa.
I started packing my things. Three years wasn’t a long time, but I had accumulated quite a lot of stuff. I wasn’t used to having my things disposed of by others, nor did I want to leave anything to disgust others. I packed my things into suitcases one by one.
“Mrs. Valence,” Donna said as she passed by the door. When she saw several large suitcases in the room, she asked in confusion, “Are you going abroad on a trip?”
“No.” I shook my head and said softly, ‘I’m moving out. If I leave anything behind, please keep it for me. I’ll have a courier come to pick it up.”
Donna was puzzled. “Why are you suddenly moving out? Did you quarrel with Mr. Christopher? I’ll call Mr. Bentley right away to persuade him!”
“Donna, Grandpa’s blood pressure has been unstable lately. He can’t handle any stress. Besides, Christopher and I didn’t quarrel. I don’t want to live with him anymore.”
How could we quarrel? I didn’t deserve it.

She had witnessed how distant Christopher and I had been to each other during these three years of marriage.
Donna could only look at me anxiously, wanting to say something, but she understood the situation.
I used to deceive myself, thinking that Christopher was just like that, but Donna must have known about his past with Evelyn. She couldn’t find any words of advice to give me.
As I closed the last suitcase, the sound of a car engine finally came from the yard.
Christopher had returned.
Perhaps Donna had said something to him; he quickly walked upstairs. He saw the lined–up suitcases. His gaze finally

fell on my forehead. His voice carried a hint of hoarseness. “How did you get hurt on your forehead?”
I chuckled self–deprecatingly. “It’s nothing. I just had an accident while you were out on a date with her.”
Christopher stared at me in shock with his cold eyes wide open.
I stood by the bed, squeezing my palms. “Christopher, we..
I had made a decision; I knew I wouldn’t turn back. But at that moment, when I saw Christopher, the man I had truly loved for seven years, my throat seemed to be blocked, and I found it difficult to say those words.
I couldn’t tell if I couldn’t bear to leave him or if I couldn’t bear to leave the passionate version of myself.
“Hope!” Christopher’s voice was stem. He cut off the rest of my words.
He walked over quickly and hugged me directly.
“This is your home. Why are you packing so many suitcases? Where are you planning to move?”
“Let go of me!”
When I smelled a mix of woody coldness and women’s perfume, I felt nauseous and struggled desperately.
“Let go of me, Christopher!”
“I won’t.”
Christopher’s strength was overwhelming; my struggles were nothing in his eyes. I felt a kind of indescribable powerlessness and took a deep breath.
“Why do you have to do this? I’m willing to let you two be together. Let me go. Please?”
Christopher buried his head in my neck. Nervously, he said, ‘Hope, I never thought of divorcing you.”
“Is that so?”
I wanted to laugh, but I couldn’t.
My anger kept rising, and I said angrily, “But I do. I’m tired. I don’t want to continue living like this! I don’t want a third person to always appear in my marriage!”
“It won’t happen again, really, it won’t.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“He held me tightly, as if afraid I would hurt, then loosened his grip slightly.
“It won’t happen again?”
I took the opportunity to push him away hard with a disappointing look.

“Have you forgotten? You said the same thing a week ago. And I also said at that time, there wouldn’t be a next time.”
Chapter 12 Let’s Get Divorced
Christopher might have thought I was just talking.
He didn’t know that those words were more for myself. If there was a next time, I couldn’t continue to indulge in it.
Christopher closed his eyes. “She cut her wrist this morning and was taken to the hospital. I just needed to go see her.”
“I know.” I shrugged, trying to sound as casual as possible.
“I know everything. Her mother saved you, right? She cut her wrist; you definitely can’t Ignore her; you should go see
her.
*After your arrival, you found that if you were two minutes late, her wound would have healed. You should be a little angry, but you can’t resist her continued agitation. She told you that as long as you accompany her today, she won’t bother you again.”
Under Christopher’s indiscernible expression, I continued, “You actually don’t believe it at all, but you still indulged her. Christopher, only you know the real reason behind this. I can’t guess. Whatever it is, I don’t want to be caught in the middle of you two anymore. Christopher, let’s get a divorce.”
As this sentence fell, the atmosphere became tense.
Christopher’s tall figure stiffened.
Like an eagle, he stared at me with his blue eyes.
After a moment, he shed his usual gentleness and asked mockingly, “Is it because he’s back?”
