Chapter 418 Elijah's Call
The room fell into silence.
Ben's gaze wandered.
But he was actually focused on his hearing, waiting for Elijah's message.
"Okay, thank you, Mr. Gudwin. Sorry to bother you."
Shortly after, Elijah hung up the phone and casually picked up a glass of wine.
"Just wait!"
Ben said, "Is this big shot in Grant City still infatuated with your mother?"
"I'm not sure about their relationship." Elijah casually steered the conversation back. "What are your
plans if there's something wrong with Imogen's pregnancy?"
"Of course, I'll bring her back!" Ben clenched his teeth fiercely.
"Alright, I'll let you know as soon as I have any updates."
At the airport hotel in Grant City, urgent beeps sounded.
With her pregnant belly, Imogen looked at Cordelia's phone and said, "Cordelia, Elijah's calling."
Cordelia was busy with her skincare routine. As both hands were occupied, she gestured for Imogen to
put it on speakerphone. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Imogen nodded and immediately did as she was told.
Soon, Elijah's deep and smiling voice came through the speaker.
Imogen glanced at Cordelia and mouthed. "So sexy."
Cordelia rolled her eyes and then casually chatted with Elijah.
Suddenly, Elijah said, "Cordelia, are you keeping something from me?"
Cordelia paused and asked, "Oh? You already know?"
Imogen was shocked and worried.
Could it be that Elijah found out about their plan to run away?
Was Cordelia planning on confessing?
So, Imogen waved her hands on the side as if saying, "Look at me, Cordelia, look at me! Don't confess!
Don't!"
Cordelia chuckled, "I've come to Grant City, and I'm with Imogen."
Elijah paused and then said, "I see."
Imogen immediately spoke up, "Hi, Elijah, how are you?"
"Hello."
Perhaps hearing someone next to Cordelia, Elijah didn't talk much with her.
After hanging up the phone, Imogen finally breathed a sigh of relief. "I was so scared. I thought he
knew about our plan to run away."
"Adam can handle things. Just relax." Cordelia remained composed.
This was the advantage of not being in the same city. Even if they had long arms, the information would
still be delayed. By the time they realized it, Cordelia had already successfully moved Imogen.
"Anyway, Imogen, you are the most important thing in my life right now. I can set aside my work. I must
ensure your safe delivery and the safety of the children." Cordelia said seriously.
Imogen's eyes welled up. "You're such a good friend!"
She wanted to hug Cordelia, but considering her large size, she decided to give it up.
So she blew a kiss to Cordelia, feeling it wasn't enough, and then winked.
Cordelia didn't know what to say.
Cordelia couldn't stand it and decided to go to sleep!
The next morning, Eason and Adam came to pick them up at the airport.
Adam drove, Eason sat in the passenger seat, and Cordelia and Imogen sat in the back seat with all
the luggage stuffed in the trunk.
Along the way, Adam wouldn't stop talking.
"Imogen, now that you're leaving, I feel like my house is empty."
Imogen smiled and said, "Adam, you should find a girlfriend. When I'm gone, you won't have any
worries and can freely bring girls home."
