Chapter 147
Chapter 147
Veronica just went out from the bathroom, finished washing when she remembered that she hadn't
seen Rawlf bring anything for him to change with earlier.
She was about to tell him this issue but closed her mouth seeing the opened suitcase with folded
clothes on the floor.
Veronica chuckled. "You are so prepared."
"A boy scout." Rawlf replied, his voice amused.
Veronica's lips curved before walking to her wardrobe area and picked her hair dryer. When she
returned back to the bedroom, Rawlf had already gone inside the bathroom.
She just finished drying her hair when the bathroom door opened. Rawlf came out in a pristine
white tee-shirt and a boxer shorts. Seeing his wet hair, Veronica had him sit on the bed and soon, she
was drying his hair.
"I need to tell you something." Rawlf spoke. "Hmm?"
"Your uncle will experience internal conflict soon and this will surely affect our children and family's
safety."
Veronica stopped and since Rawlf's hair is almost dry, she decided to finish drying his hair first so
they could talk properly. After some seconds, she turned off the hair dryer.
"Tell me everything." She looked at the man and sat beside him.
Rawlf stood up to pick his laptop from his suitcase before returning to bed. After turning the laptop
on, he opened a file and played it for Veronica to listen to.
Later, Veronica's expression turned furious after the recording came to an end. "Uncle Bien's
already aware of this?"
"I already sent him this as soon as I received it."
"When I asked earlier if you sent some men and you said yes, it's an understatement right?"
"Hmm. The internal conflict within Uncle Bien's force will jeopardize our children's safety. But we
decided not to take his men away from the castle since it will also create doubts about the
culprit. My men were watching in the shadows, don't worry. Uncle Bien told me that the full control
of the castle's security was entrusted to my men secretly. I trust in my men's capability."
Veronica heaved a sigh.
"I'll go down first. I'll be back."
"Okay. Come back soon. Don't worry much."
Veronica nodded and soon went out of the room. Rawlf knew that she would make her own
arrangement and Rawlf let her with it. It's her right and Rawlf would support her. He also picked his
phone to dial Secretary Ryan's number.
"I believe you're already acquainted with Zero. Contact and coordinate with him regarding your
lady boss's arrangement in Country R."
Rawlf disconnected right away leaving Secretary Ryan in dazed.
"What an acquaintance! That man seems like a robot! He doesn't even talk at all!" Secretary Ryan
muttered before finding ways to contact the said walking killing machine.
The couple went to bed after Veronica came back. The night is calm and silent, and the couple
expect that a storm is coming their way.
Country R.
Victorino was facing the five most skillful men of Bien's Force. They're the same whom Uncle Bien
trusted next from Victorino and Victor.
No matter how you trust some people, if those same people are filled with greed, even if Uncle
Bien is generous to them, they would still try biting the elbow if given the chance. And Victorino gave
them that same opportunity. To be stronger and wealthier.
The five men each shook hands with Victorino signifying the agreement between them. Few days
passed and it's currently afternoon in Country R.
Alex is having a fit from having to lose from a game against the King's son. His sulking at a corner
while Baelfire just looked at him like he's some idiot. Alex thought that his task was done, who would
have thought that the King would give him another one the man didn't actually expect.
That is, to babysit the King's polar opposite children. Since he started two days ago, he found out
that the King's son was a genius because of his computer skill he got the chance to witness.
As if jealous that the kid was still too young and yet already good with what he's being praised
about as an adult, Alex with his unbelievably immaturity actually asked for a game duel against
Baelfire. © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
The result is too overwhelming for the man who thought he's one of the world's best having to be
defeated by an almost four years old kid!
'Unacceptable!' Alex continued to sulk.
The computer room opened and Baelfair came. Seeing who just arrived, Alex quickly approached
the milky, adorable little girl and acted like someone being bullied in front of the little girl.
Alex kept talking about how he was ruthlessly defeated by her twin brother and Baelfair, seeing the
man on her feet decided to put banana chips in his opened mouth, silencing the man in the process.
Alex, who just experienced being bullied by the King's children, crawls slowly in a corner, sulking
silently. If only Rawlf would know that the situation actually reversed, that his children who were
supposed to be protected by Alex are actually the ones who would exert effort to pacify the man, no
one could tell what will be the end of the unhealthy looking lanky man with his very pale skin and bluish
yet exhausted looking eyes.
"Dad said you're supposed to protect us."
Baelfire said, obviously his patience for the immature man was at its limit. "From the bad guys!"
Alex replied, still sulking.
Seeing that the much older man couldn't be helped, Baelfire face-palmed. Baelfair on the other
hand just observed the two while munching on her banana chips like that of a hamster.
In a while she started,
"Stop sulking. You're too old to do that."
Baelfair then said in a fluent, strict tone, however her voice is still childlike. Alex shivered.
"Young miss Baelfair, the first time I saw you two days ago, I thought you're an angel that
descended and grace this sinful world, now I finally see with my own eyes what you really are?!"
"So?" Baelfair asked uncaringly.
"So therefore I conclude, once you grow up, you're worse than your father!!," cried Alex.
"When I grow up, I'll take over my father's forces while Fire will take care of Sy International."
Baelfair straightforwardly said.
Hearing this, Baelfire rolled his eyes although in his thoughts played a 'Only if father and mother
will allow you.'
This is the first and last time Baelfire can utter these words since years later, he would realized to
what extent Bailfair's stubbornness is. Maybe even to the point of almost angering Rawlf to death
someday while Veronica being proud.
