Using Baby Daddy For Revenge

I’ll marry Sasha

“Why are you doing this father? That little boy needs his mother.” In the office at the ranch, Mark’s dad and his grandfather had a heated conversation.

“That Edward’s granddaughter can not stay married to my grandson. That family brings nothing but trouble.” Old Mr. Johnson insisted.

“Father, why can’t you let whatever issues you and Mr Edward have go? At Least for these children. I don’t want my son to marry someone who will never make him happy.”l He tried to change his father’s mind but as always he never succeeded.

“Sasha is the right woman for him.”

“He does not love her.”

“He may be infatuated by that Edward’s granddaughter, now but eventually he will learn to love Sasha. She is a good girl and will be an excellent mother to my great grandson.” Mr Johnson sat down on the sofa and closed his eyes not interested in arguing anymore.

“You are unbelievable.” Shaking his head, Mark’s dad left banging the door on his way out.

“Calm down honey, let’s see what Mark has to say about this first.” His wife ran after him trying to ease his growing rage.

“I won’t let my son live a miserable life like Richard, just because dad has to control everything.”

“Richard chose to marry after his wife died. That’s not the same thing.” She told him as he mounted the horse. “You can’t leave like this.” She called him as he rode to the company.

Mary, who had been watching them, listening to their conversion, stepped behind her. “Aren’t you going to tell them Betty is still alive?”

“Shit Mary! Shh.. don’t mention that here again. Someone might hear you.” She covered Mary’s mouth as looked around to see if anyone had heard them. “We have to find out why they said she is dead and who’s behind all this before telling them.” Mark’s mother whispered to Mary.

“No!” Mary pulled down the hand covering her mouth. “Telling them now is better and safe for everyone.” Mary insisted but Mark’s mother warned her not to.

“We can’t say anything. At least not for now.”

Mr. Johnson was always against Richard and Betty’s relationship, simply because she was from a poor background, preferring for him to marry Sasha’s aunt. Betty being Melissa’s aunt made the situation more complicated. They only hoped Mark would stand up to the old man for his family to be united.

“Daddy?” Tommy walked into his father’s room leaving Spark guarding the door.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Though Mark had started his physical therapy, he still used a wheelchair to move around the farm. Walking over to where his father sat next to the bed, Tommy hugged him. Then showed him the drawing he had made.

“This is a picture of me and Spark. Is it nice daddy?” He asked, settling on Mark’s lap.

“It’s very nice. My son is very smart.” Mark smiled at him holding the drawing.

“Daddy, when will we go back home? I miss my grandma and my friends at school.” Tommy frowned looking down at his fingernails.

“Soon son. Once I get out of this chair, I’ll take you home to see grandma.” Mark pulled him closer and kissed his head.

“Really dad?” He gazed at his father. “Can mum come live with us here, she can help take care of you?”

“Ahem!” Sasha walked in interrupting their conversation. “Hello Tommy, here I brought you a present.”

“Another toy car?” Tommy asked, taking the white Ferrari she handed him.

“Don’t you like my present?”

Tommy glanced at the car then at his dad who nodded at him. “I like it. Thank you, aunt Sasha.”

“Why don’t you go show grandma the present aunt got you.” Mark ruffled his hair then set him down.

As Tommy left, Mark rolled the chair to the window. “What happened to his mother?” He glanced at Sasha then turned his gaze outside the window watching Tommy run to Mary.

“When you two split up, she chose to leave the child.” Sasha said biting the corner of her lip to hide her smile. The plan was working in her favor.

“Do you know where she lives? Tommy insists on seeing her.” He asked, staring at Sasha keenly.

“She has moved on Mark. I doubt she even wants to see her son.” Sasha spoke rummaging through her bag. His inquiring about Melissa gave her a chance to show him what she had gathered. “I saw her a few days ago with her new lover.” She gave him pictures of Melissa and David.

Seeing Melissa happy in another man’s company hurt him. He had been so worried about her. Worried that Sasha might harm her but it seemed she had someone looking after her. He trusted in Melissa’s love for him but he didn’t want any other man making her laugh.

“I would love to get some rest please.” Handing back the pictures, he rolled the wheelchair near the bed.

“Can I help?” Sasha asked trying to take his hand.

“No, I can manage.” He snapped at her. “I’m sorry, please leave me alone. I need to rest.”

“Okay.”

When she left the room, Sasha went to Mr. Johnson’s office and called her aunt informing her their plan was successful.

Lying on the bed Mark called James requesting them to come for a meeting.

A few days later the four men sat in his room reporting what had happened since his accident.

“Did you find the person behind my attack?”

“Not yet. We got nowhere since the men who attacked you died in the pursuit.” Robert explained.

“Did you check the phone records?” Mark inquired going through the report.

“We did. The person behind this is very cunning. We couldn’t trace them or gather anything from the calls and texts sent to your assailant.” Andrew said showing Mark the text retrieved from their phones.

“How is my wife?” Closing the file he looked at James.

“She is in good health.” James said as the others quietly glanced at each other.

“I know that look, Robert. Did something happen that you’re not telling me about?” He asked putting down the documents.

“I’ll tell you but don’t get worked up. Remember what the doctor said.” Robert warned him.

“Tell me, did someone harm her?” Mark asked in alarm.

“They kidnapped her a few days ago but Mr. Edward got to them before they crossed the border.” Robert explained.

“What happened to the security I hired to protect her?” Mark asked James getting agitated.

“After the accident, grandfather withdrew them. She’s living at Edward’s mansion now. They will protect her.” James gave a count of everything that happened.

“This man she is with, find out who he is.” Mark showed them one of the pictures he took from Sasha.

“He’s living with Melissa at the Edwards mansion. I have seen her in his company lately.” Jason spoke, glancing at the picture.

“Andrew, tap Melissa’s phone. Find out who this man is and what he wants from her.” Mark instructed.

“He’s probably her bodyguard.” Andrew slagged his shoulders.

“I want to know who he is.” Mark gritted his teeth clenching his fist.

With a tray of water and a cup of medicine, Sasha walked in cutting short their meeting, hoping they don’t ruin her plans. “You should let Mark rest. Grandfather Johnson said he can’t work just yet.” She said handing Mark his medicine and water bottle.

“Thank you Sasha, for taking such good care of me.” Mark held her hand surprising everyone.

“Mark what going on?” Robert inquired standing beside him but Mark didn’t respond.

“There is nothing much to talk about. Please leave.” Still holding Sasha’s hand, he sent them out of the room. To convince her and keep Melissa safe while he was away, he had to accept everything Sasha said.

His grandfather planned to have them officially engaged and to wed two weeks after the engagement ceremony.

His parents tried to stop him insisting that he was already married but the old man adamantly stood his ground.

“Grandfather is right, dad. The Edwards only bring bad luck to this family.” Mark’s words stopped their argument.

“No honey, you can’t think like that about your wife. Melissa is a nice girl, and she loves you so much.” His mother tried to persuade him.

“She has moved on, mother. I’m going to marry Sasha as grandfather suggested.” Mark showed them Melissa’s picture with another man to convince them of his decision.

“Really Mark. Thank you.” Sasha ran and hugged him as he watched his disappointed parents leave the office.
