Bitter truth
After the call, she suspected she needed to be closer to Antiono. The only way she could do that was going to his house.
She put on the red jumpsuit she had kept specially to wear when she was going to get an engagement ring but it was no use now. Whether or not Mrs. Alastor was in the city, she still couldn’t change Antiono’s mind.
But what was his connection with Mia? Why were they so close?
She could swear that Mia hadn’t been it San Francisco since the last 6 years, or was Wilson hiding something from her? He was yet to reveal why they had saperated. Whenever she brought the issue, he would cunningly escape answering her questions.
She had to find out the truth but first things first, she muttered to herself.
She could go to Antiono’s home and persuade him to tell her how he got close to Mia. She sighed knowing it was going to be very difficult.
As she sat on her dressing chair, facing the new mirror that had been imported from Italian. It was the usual dressing mirror only that the edges were covered with expensive stones and on one side of it bore her name and initials. She had no time for make-up because she looked so stressed but she had to, there will be lots of paparazzi and she didn’t want to appear on TV screens looking so pale and unhealthy.
” Get me my makeup artist.” She ordered over the telephone.
After some minutes, a lady came in carrying a makeup box.
” I want a light makeup. As fast as you can, I have an appointment.”
” Okay ma’am.”
The makeup artist began work immediately, setting her brushes in place while she tried to look for a nice color of foundation that the fashion queen used.
” You are here ma’am?” Alice, her personal assistant, entered the room.
” The last time I checked, Alice. This is my house.”
” I know that ma’am…the thing is that.” She began stammering.
” Say what you came from. You can see I’m busy.” Charlotte yelled.
” It’s your mother.” Alice answered after gaining boldness.
” What about her?” She asked not feeling any sign of emotion.
” She called…she’s been calling and I think she’s Worried about you.”
” What’s your job now, Alice?”
“To fix appointments and meetings.”
” Good…stick to that.”This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Alice left immediately, feeling the urge to slap her boss.
After some minutes, the makeup artist informed her she was done. Without a thank you or any sign of appreciation Charlotte ordered her to leave.
She quickly dressed up and left with her Versace purse. She was used to wearing her sunglasses whenever she was outside so she took that too .
Since she was wearing a red jumpsuit, she decided to settle for her red sports car; a car which was gift to her on her previous year birthday by Antiono.
She had gotten so much gifts from both Antiono and his mother, but all that changed when the wedding pairing was done and the date was fixed. It’s like Antiono turned to a stranger, he became rude and loved staying on his own.
The drive was cool, she didn’t enjoyed it because different thoughts filled her mind. She could barely concentrate on her driving, she couldn’t think straight. She hated the fact, Mia was trying to steal her man again after doing same with Wilson.
The gatekeeper allowed her car in, it was a mansion. As beautiful and magnificent as the building she was standing in front of, it wasn’t compared to that in San Francisco. The Alastor’s family were wealthy and that was why she would do anything to remain with them. Even if it means getting rid of Mia.
Since she had not informed Antiono of her visit, she made up her mind to go straight to his room to see him.
She met a maid, who bowed to greet her. She wasn’t surprise, the whole world knew she was the soon to be daughter in law of the Alastor’s family.
” Is your master at home?”
” Yes…everyone is at home.”
” Mother included?”
” Yes…she’s taking her rest.”
Going to visit mother would be a bad idea, she thought.
She made up her mind to see Antonio, since he was the reason she came here. She could find his room without difficulty, she had been here twice or so but had never entered the room. It was one of those worst moments of his life that she turned up.
From where she was, she heard whispers. It was Aaron and Antiono, she pressed her ears and listened carefully. They were talking about DNA.
So Mrs. Alastor was right, Antiono suspects Ariel of being his daughter which meant Mia and Antiono were more than the friends they portrayed themselves to be. They had been intimate before, lot’s of thoughts filled her mind. She was visibly shaking.
” Are you okay?”
She turned in fright to look at who it was, it was Piper.
” I’m fine…it’s none of your business.” She almost yelled at her.
The doors of Antiono’s room opened and the both brothers stepped out .
They were surprised to see her, especially Antonio, she hadn’t informed him of her visit and his mum never mentioned it to him.
“You are here?” He asked, shocked.
She didn’t give him a response, Instead she walked away. Everyone was shocked by her actions.
” Charlotte! Charlotte!” He stopped in anger for he dare not to call her thrice.
Charlotte didn’t respond, instead she walked away, got into her car and drove off immediately. They stood there in shock and couldn’t move a step.
Antiono wanted to go after her but Piper stopped him.
” It’s no use…she wouldn’t give you an answer.”
Antonio flung her hands away and entered his room, he hated that attitude of walking out of him. It killed his pride and he didn’t want that.
As Aaron was leaving, Piper held him back.
” Charlotte heard everything, she was eavesdropping.”
