Chapter 38 Uncle James, You Lied to Me
Chapter 38 Uncle James, You Lied to Me
Rose hobbled into the office. Seeing both Kara and Arya sitting, a trace of gloom flashed her eyes as
she lowered her head.
"Ms. Danika, how is Rose?" said Ross.
Danika Kent was the doctor who worked in the infirmary. She had just checked Rose.
Danika took out the medical record, "The back of Rose's foot is black and blue. But it's not serious. She
might have hit it somewhere. She just needs to apply some liquid medicine."
Rose didn't know why they asked Danika over. She frowned and looked at Danika with a wronged look.
"Ms. Danika, many parts of my body hurt. I don't know where I had hit. If it weren't for Kara ... I wouldn't
have got injured. I know she was not on purpose. I will forgive her as long as she apologizes to me."
Tears were gathered in her eyes, as if she was really in pain. However, no one responded to her.
"Ms. Danika, can you affirm who hurt Rose according to her injury?" Arya asked.
"Arya, I'm sorry. I'm not sure." Danika shook her head.
"Since Ms. Danika is not sure, how can Mr. Owen arbitrarily think that it was Kara who hurt Rose?"
Arya suddenly turned to Owen.
Owen wiped the cold sweat off his temples as his face turned pale. "I ... I saw Kara stamp on her with
my own eyes."
Arya stood up abruptly, strode in front of him, and raised her arm.
Owen thought that she was going to slap him, and he directly took a few steps back, pressing his back
on the wall.
However, Arya just scratched her head. Seeing him panic, she sneered disdainfully.
"Mr. Owen, you are a teacher. How can you take things out of context and convict others without
investment? Mr. Ross, it seems that you need to give your staff a legal education." Arya sneered.
Ross' scalp went numb. He hurried to explain, "Mr. Owen did make an arbitrary decision. I will definitely
teach him a lesson. As for Rose, I will give her a week's holiday and a complete check-up as well."
Rose was currently in the third year of high school, and time was precious for her. Mr. Ross asked her
to go home and reflect, which could be considered as a punishment in another way.
She was unconvinced and blinked her eyes in grievance, tears rolling down her cheeks.
Mr. Owen heaved a sigh of relief. He raised his eyebrow at Arya, flaunting.
With Mr. Ross' protection, she couldn't do anything to him.
"It's my fault. I saw the three of them fighting and asked Kara to stop. But Kara didn't; instead, she
stamped on Rose. I mistakenly thought that it was Kara who wanted to cause trouble. Now that it has
been clear, I will correct my mistake."
Arya's face darkened as Owen appeared to be so shameless. She was about to retort but Kara
grabbed her arm.
She looked at Kara in surprise. But Kara blinked at her. She believed that Uncle James would help her.
Owen wanted to expel her easily. This time, he had to learn a lesson. Otherwise, there would be
countless students suffering from him!
James shot Ross an impatient glance.
"Mr. Ross, my girl has been bullied. You know, an apology is not enough."
Ross knitted his brows and realized that if this Mr. James got angry, even he might get fired.
"Yes, Mr. James is right! Owen has violated the rule, so we will deduct his wages of three months. And
I'll ask the personnel department to record his fault!"
Owen's look changed on hearing that his salary was gonna to be reduced.
As a teacher, he didn't earn much every month. If his wages were even docked, he might hardly cover
his daily expenditure.
Besides, if it was known that his wages were docked, what a shame!
"Mr. Ross, how can you cut into my wage just by listening to his nonsense? I work hard every day. It's
unfair."
"Shut up!"
Ross was shameless enough to protect this idiot, but he even threatened to teach James a lesson!
What a stupid guy! Ross was totally enraged.
Fairness!
When he tried to expel Kara and Arya, had he thought whether it was fair?
"Mr. Ross, you can't cut into my salary. It's not my fault. It was the three of them who caused the
trouble!" Owen only cared about his salary.
Ross took a deep breath and appeared to be solemn, "OK. Since you don't want your salary to be
docked, we won't pay you salary anymore. Ted, inform the personnel department that Mr. Owen is
fired!"
Owen stared at Ross in disbelief.
"Mr. Ross, you are abusing your power. He got something on you, right? You make me a scapegoat for
you!"
"..."
Ross' face darkened. He didn't expect that Owen would tarnish him. Thus, he was more determined to
dismiss him.
"Ted, hurry up and bring Mr. Owen out!"
Owen did not want to leave. Ted whispered something in his ear. A trace of fear flashed his eyes as he
stared at James in shock. Then, he got stiff and was taken out by Ted.
Kara and Arya met each other's gaze in surprise. It was out of their expectation.
They only wanted to teach him a lesson, but they didn't expect him to be dismissed.
Rose was worried to see Owen out. She just pretended to be weak, hoping that she would be
sympathized and then Kara would get punished.
However, what happened now was exactly the opposite of her expectation. Perhaps the next target
would be her!
She supported her forehead and fainted on the sofa as if she was in pain.
"..."
Ross didn't even pay much attention to her. He just asked two female teachers to take her out.
"Mr. James, you must be busy with the SA Group. But we bothered you because of such a trivial
matter. Please have lunch here. I'll send someone to prepare it now."
James' heart softened as Kara fixed her bright eyes on him. However, he had left during a meeting and
still had a lot of work to do.
"I won't bother you, Mr. Ross. I just hope that you could be scrupulously fair."
Ross could tell his warning. He quickly promised, "This kind of things would never happen to Kara
again."
Rose, who hadn't gone far, heard that Kara's uncle was actually the president of the SA Group, James
Hemming. She was so shocked that she almost passed out.
How could Kara, this invalid, find such a backer after being kicked out of the Quains?
But she, Rose, had to endure the resentment of Sophia in the Quain's after leaving home!
At this moment, Rose was filled with hatred.
Kara saw James out. At the gate of the campus, when Ross and Arya left, she walked to him, grinning.
"Uncle James, you lied to me." NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
James pinched her cheek with his slender fingers. It felt so good that he didn't want to let go of it.
His brown eyes carelessly swept across her delicate neck. Under the sunlight, it was as fair as jade,
hard for him to move his gaze away.
"You dared to accuse me after causing this trouble. You are really bold."
Kara got cheeky and nuzzled his arm, like a lazy cat.
Thinking of Rose, she was still angry. "It's not that I want to make a fight. Rose is such a good actress. I
didn't hurt her at all. Uncle James, it was Rose who caused me to be locked up in the lounge!"
James was surprised. He was going to criticize her but thinking about how she was lying weakly in the
lounge of the stadium, his heart softened a little.
"I don't demand you to be a lady, but fighting isn't for you. If there's anything like this, come to me." He
pinched her cheeks, stating with affection.
The pinch was gentle, which reminded Kara of her father. She nodded with a smirk.
She then nuzzled his palm, acting like a little kitten.
"Uncle James, it's so kind of you. By the way, it's lunchtime. Let me give you a treat."
