Passion 28
Noah's weak but high-pitched voice sounded from the phone. A young boy identical to Zachary was lying in a hospital bed, looking pallid. He called out to Yvette sweetly.
Yvette's heart melted. "Noah, here's a return kiss."
Noah frowned at her sadly. "Mom, you didn't even call me last night to say goodnight."
Compared to Zachary, who loved to nag at her kindly, Noah was more like the verage child. He was very affectionate but also prone to insecurity. Of course, that was just Yvette's opinion. "I'm sorry, I forgot about it. Here's an apology kiss. Don't be mad, Noah."
Noah had always been sick and had recently been diagnosed with leukemia. So, Yvette was especially attentive toward
him.
Noah pouted. "I'll forgive you this time, but there won't be a next time."
Seeing Noah's cute antics, all the storm clouds in Yvette's mind instantly disappeared. She nodded frantically. Then, she asked, "Where are Grandma and Zac?"
Noah pretended to be furious when he heard that. "If I had known that you would ask about them, I wouldn't have called
Yvette didn't know whether to cry or laugh. Noah could be really sulky sometimes!

"Alright, I won't ask about them. It's getting late, so you should go to bed soon. Goodnight."
After Noah hung up, the smile instantly vanished from his face. He gave his twin brother, Zachary, a gloomy look."
Mom was drinking again."
Zachary closed his laptop. "It seems like I have no choice but to go to Tirion to take care of her."
"Yes." Noah closed his eyes.
If it hadn't been for his poor health, he would have also wanted to go and et his despicable father.
Yvette had no idea what those two rascals were planning. After washing up, she hugged the two rabbit dolls and lay down.
Perhaps it was because the bed felt foreign to her, or maybe it was because she had met Xavier that day, but she slept very poorly. She kept drifting in and out of sleep. When Yvette woke up the next morning, she peeked at the clock. It was 5:10 am.
She realized that she had an unread message. Claude had arranged for a private bodyguard for her, Ray Septer.
Ray had texted her saying, "Ms. Snyder, after you returned to your accommodation last night, I noticed that a car had followed you. It hasn't left until now."
The message had been sent at 3:00 am.
"Is it still there?" Yvette sent a text back.
"Yes," Ray replied.
Without having to even think, she knew that it was one of Xavier's people.
Yvette asked Ray not to worry. After all, she wanted to get close to Xavier. If he was sending people to monitor her, that was even better.
After breakfast, Yvette left her home. She asked the driver to take her to Lane Group.
Meanwhile, in the CEO's office at Lane Group, Xavier held the check for millions of dollars in his hands. Countless thoughts raced through his mind.
The check was for 50 million dollars!
It seemed like she had been living well for the past four years.
Mark had had someone watch Yvette all night. Finally, there was some news. He immediately reported it to Xavier.
"I've assigned someone to monitor Ms. Snyder. All we know now is that she had appeared in a public neighborhood last night.
"We checked the airport and train station records, but there is no record of her coming or going. Just like last time, it's as though someone had intentionally erased that information." Xavier pursed his lips. She had disappeared for four years. He refused to believe that running into her last night had just been a coincidence.

Mark hesitated briefly before continuing, "Ms. Snyder's return is also out of the ordinary. Our personnel reported that the area she is living in is under tight surveillance." "Continue looking into her!" Xavier ordered.
"Yes."
Xavier looked up to regard him. "If she runs away again, you don't have to stay in Tirion any longer."
"Yes."
After Mark left, Xavier's heart still felt heavy. He wanted nothing more tha o kidnap Yvette and bring her there, but he was also curious to see what she was planning to do. Memory loss? He didn't believe that in the slightest!
Not long after Mark left, he came back and knocked on the door again. "Mr. Lane, the people tailing Ms. Snyder say that she seems to be on her way over here."
