The Substitute Bride: Idiot Or Not?

Chapter 44

No one had ever forced a kiss on Winnie before.

D*mn it! He just slept with Yulissa in the other room, and those lips might've just kissed Yulissa's. The hand that is caressing me might've just touched her as well. Ugh, this is so disgusting. Unable to handle it anymore, Winnie dug her teeth into him.

The metallic stench of blood instantly spread out in both their mouths.

However, that pain only caused Xavier to pause momentarily.

He became even more aggressive after that as he ravaged every inch of her like a tornado.

Winnie thought the man was insane. Seeing that he refused to stop, she bent her knee and went after his private part.

Yet, it seemed that he was prepared for that because he had her legs pinned down with a single move.

He used one hand to lock her wrists and keep them above her head, then used his other hand to caress her.

Winnie's poor pajamas were instantly reduced to torn rags, and Xavier's hands ventured to the place where he had fantasized about but was too cowardly to venture to in the past.

He was ridiculously strong, and he was loving the sensation in his palm.

As he was misbehaving, he soon realized that the person under him had stopped moving altogether.

He let go of her lips and gave her forehead a peck. It was a kiss as soft and as light as a feather.

However, as he moved down to her cheek, he tasted the salty taste of tears.

Her face was almost completely wet with tears of unhappiness, pain, and anger.

"Ah, you're disgusting! Go to hell!" Winnie shouted, kicking him in the chest when she felt him loosen his grip on her.

It was a strong kick, but it still wasn't enough to force him out of bed.

Xavier remained quiet and turned around to lie on his side.

As he rested on the bed and looked at the ceiling, he wondered what he had done earlier. All he remembered was him wanting her so much that every single drop of blood in his body was going insane. He got up and walked to the bathroom.

"You're disgusting!" Seeing that he was about to leave, Winnie grabbed the lamp at the side and threw it at his back.

The lamp was heavy, and it had undeniably hurt him when it hit him. However, he took it all in and didn't even turn around.

Soon, the lights in the bathroom came on, and the sound of running water could be heard.

A few minutes later, Xavier came back out.

He had gone to take a shower, but he didn't take his clothes off. Hence, he was dripping wet.

His eyes were bloodshot when he looked at Winnie.

The lights in the room remained off, but with the lights from the bathroom, Xavier could see Winnie's face clearly.

Her lips were swollen from his kiss, and her neck was covered in bite marks. Her clothes were also torn by his very hands, and the bruises below her neck were products of his insanity.

He had never hurt her that much, not even on the night when Kylie drugged him.

Winnie looked at Xavier with hatred and disgust. Her face, which shone with beauty and innocence, was wet with tears.

"Winnie," said Xavier. His voice was ridiculously hoarse. "I'm sorry. I went insane earlier, and it was all my fault. I was inhumane. Don't cry and don't be afraid. I just want to see how you are doing." Winnie wanted to yell at him, but she was too disgusted to say anything.

It took her a while before she finally managed to tell him to get out.

Looking as she trembled in anger and did not know how to vent it out, Xavier was overwhelmed with guilt.

He walked over, and Winnie reacted by hiding under the blanket.

"Winnie, don't. I came to give you a gift." He fished a box out of his pocket. "Sometimes it is better to believe something is real or true than to believe it is nonexistent or false. This bracelet is blessed and wearing it will keep you safe."

He wanted to help Winnie put it on, but she swung her arm and made him drop the bracelet.

Xavier went to pick it up, then return to Winnie. When she caught him getting closer to her, she swung her arm again.

Xavier patiently picked up the bracelet a couple of times, and in the end, he grabbed her hand forcefully.

Winnie's voice was filled with distaste when she shouted, "Go away! You're disgusting! I don't want to see you!"

Xavier's eyes were scarlet. "Put this on, Dumbo. I'll leave as soon as you put it on. Be good and let me help you put it on, okay? It'll just take a second."

The lights to the bathroom were turned off, and the door to the master bedroom was closed.

Xavier was still dripping wet, but he didn't care. He knew that things between him and Winnie were over.

She didn't know much once upon a time, but she enjoyed hanging out with him and getting close to him.

At that moment, however, she loathed and feared him.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

I must have gone insane.

Yulissa knew everything about sex, yet he didn't feel a thing when she went all out to get him.

All he did was hug Winnie, and that was enough to drive him insane. He lost control of his body right away.

Unable to think straight, Xavier jumped into the swimming pool in the middle of the night.

The icy water could chill anyone to their bones, but Xavier didn't know if it was cold enough to put out the fire in his heart.

That night, no one in the mansion slept well, and everyone looked horrible.

Xavier was struggling with the fire in his heart, whereas Winnie was struggling with the disgust she felt. Yulissa, on the other hand, was just plain angry.

She was especially upset when they left for the Fairchild residence because that was when she learned Winnie was also wearing a traditional gown and it was way more beautiful.

It annoyed Yulissa so much that she was tempted to tear Winnie's gown apart.

Yulissa knew what had happened the night before.

I seduced him endlessly, but he never even touched me. Instead, he went to that dumbass, Winnie, and made a huge mess in her room. I can't believe it. He would rather force himself on a dumbass than sleep with an ordinary woman. In the end, he didn't get what he wanted and was bitten on the lips so hard that he bled. Ugh, what a masochist.

That discovery got Yulissa so angry that she couldn't sleep the night before. That was why she had pimples all over her face in the morning, and she had to use thick makeup to cover them up.

Still, Yulissa was somewhat happy that Xavier had made it so that the two of them were in the same car.

At that moment, Yulissa was hugging Xavier's arm and whispering into his ear in an ambiguous way despite Winnie being right there.

Winnie and Jacinta were arranged to sit in another car. As they waited for the car to arrive, the former didn't even bother to look at Xavier.

Hence, as far as Winnie was concerned, Yulissa's provocation was nothing but a show with no audience.

The two cars traveled together, and they reached the Fairchild residence about an hour later.

The place was even more lively than it usually was, and guests had filled the place.

Even Benjamin Fairchild, who was rarely in the country, had made an effort to come back.

Benjamin was Rufus' eldest son and Xavier's father.

He was so busy that he couldn't even visit Xavier when the latter first came out of his vegetative state. That day was the first time that year that the father and son had met.

Xavier went over when he saw Benjamin and greeted him, "Dad."

"Mm." Benjamin frowned the second he saw the bite mark on Xavier's lips.

When he shifted his gaze to Winnie, who was standing behind Xavier, his expression took a sharp turn. His tone was harsh when he demanded, "Is that the woman you married? The eldest daughter of the Garland family?"
