“How the hell is that possible? Hunters shot you in such a way there was no way you could stay alive until he marked you?” The person on the other side cried in frustration. “He should have marked you by assuming you as his mate, and by the time he would have realized that he was trapped, it would have been too late because you would have been the Luna of the pack, and he would have been dead.”
“Well, He figured out another way to keep me alive. And now that I’m alive and not marked by him. I’m scared that sooner or later, he will find the truth, and then I will be dead for sure.” Chloe pointed out. “And the worst part is that instead of jumping in front of me like a love-sick puppy that werewolves like him are, he decorated the whole room and maybe the hospital with the Lobelia flower. I can’t even use my power in this way. I don’t think I can break the protective shield of the pack that his witch sister has formed around the pack.”
“You’re not there to say that ‘I don’t think I can break the protection shield.’ You have to do that at any cost. Use your mind and get this work done. By then, hunters are preparing to attack the pack.”
“Okay, Elena.” With this, Chloe disconnected the call and recalled how Elena and hunters were working together to get a hand on Ethlyn and, of course, the Alpha of the pack that would be the bonus. The moment Chloe looked around after disconnecting the call, her eyes widened because Roselet was looking at her.

“I was busy with my family, so I’m sure you were aware of what was going on behind my back. Still, you didn’t care to inform me about it,” Calvin growled in anger, looking at Zordan.
“I didn’t inform you about it because I didn’t think that Ethlyn was doing anything wrong as a Luna of the pack,” Zordan replied, to which Calvin glared at him. “Precaution is better than cure, right?”
“But that’s her insult. She is feeling like a prisoner, and I didn’t want to make her feel that way.” Calvin responded. “But I guess I’m talking to the wrong person about it. And if you think that it is done because of precaution, then you’re so wrong. This is done because of jealousy that one woman can’t handle because of the presence of a second woman.”
“Calvin, I think you’re getting….”
Calvin didn’t wait to hear what he had to say because he was damn too mad at Ethlyn. On the other side, Ethlyn was waiting for Calvin to walk into the penthouse and blast like a bomb. But she wasn’t scared of his anger.
When she went into Caroline’s room earlier in the room and shared the conversation with both the brothers with her, Ethlyn felt Caroline was really knowledgeable among the siblings. She couldn’t have talked with Brandon as well, but then she didn’t want t mention in front of them that both brothers fought last night. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
So, she chose Caroline in the end. From where she learned if this was really a trap, just like Colton had mentioned, then it was a high chance that the woman Calvin brought into the pack could be a witch. That was a different thing that Caroline confirmed the same after visiting Chloe in her room.
Caroline explained each and every weakness of a witch in detail.
‘Alpha Calvin mentioned that your mate went against everyone, including his parents, for you. After all, you know, you’re a witch.’ Ethlyn mentioned the conversation between Calvin and Colton.
‘That’s true. He was really supportive from the beginning. It wasn’t that his parents or his pack members were evil or bad. They were just scared of what I was and what I was capable of doing. So, almost the whole pack was decorated with lobelia flowers so that I wouldn’t be able to use my powers.’ Caroline told her and narrated everything that happened. ‘The best thing was Artemis’s support. But with time, pack members realized that I’m not evil, so everyone apologized by throwing a party for me.’
‘There is nothing wrong in making mistakes or understanding a person. A lot of these incidents keep happening in our day-to-day life but what matters is that you should have the guts to apologize when you realize that you’re wrong.’
Considering the last sentence, Ethlyn took all the precautions that she needed and had expected the same reaction from Artemis, pissed.
“Ethlyn”
‘There you go.’ Ethlyn thought when she saw Calvin walking into the penthouse with an angry expression. She was already prepared for this.
“What the hell is the stunt that you played behind my back?” Calvin growled at her. “I made you the Luna so that no one who say a word or do anything against you, but you started showing your true color just after a few days. I can’t believe you.”
Ethlyn rolled her eyes, ignoring his words.
“Did you just roll your eyes?” He growled and grabbed her chin tightly, making her look into his eyes. “I won’t tolerate you disrespecting me, Ethlyn. So, it would be better if you will behave.”
“By doing all this, you proved that you’re your mother’s daughter. No different from her. What upset me more was that I really thought that you’re different.”
Ethlyn didn’t say anything about that but did observe how Calvin related her with her mother’s character. It made her heartache. Getting mad at her was another thing, but saying mean and insulting things were another.
What was the need for this ‘honest try’ thing when he didn’t respect her and could say anything in anger?
“Order Zordan to clean the mess that he has created, but I really don’t want to go against your orders and make you feel any less than me,” Calvin ordered, leaving her chin.
“I won’t do that because I didn’t do anything wrong by doing this,” Ethlyn said in determination. “As a Luna of the pack, I’m concerned about the pack and…”
