Chapter 28 Where is Aiden?
______
IN AMERICA*
Diana rested back on her chair with her fingers tapping repeatedly on the desk.
She couldn’t help but to feel for her friend, Tihana.
First, she was forced to sign a contract marriage with one of her worst enemy. Then, she was forced to go to a honeymoon with him.
Only God knows how he is treating her over there.
She knows for a fact he wasn’t treating her well over there and that was why she always make sure she calls her friend to know how she was fairing.
She’s been calling her friend’s number but she isn’t picking up.
She sighed as she closed her eyes still tapping her fingers on the table.
Her phone rang jolting her out of her thoughts. She took her purse and brought out the phone.
It was a call from Tihana.
“Hey! Where did you put your phone? I’ve been trying to reach you but you weren’t picking. Don’t you know you are making me worried over here?” Diana ranted out immediately she accepted the call.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t feeling too well so I couldn’t pick your calls.”
“Really? What is the nature of the sickness?”
“Nothing much, just that I got drunk and it really made me feel too much headache when I woke up.”
“But why’d you get drunk in the first place?”
“I wanted to forget all my worries and pains.” Diana sighed at those words.
Each day that passes by, there was always something that makes her feel guilty for making Tihana go in her place for the date.
“And did you?”
“Of course, but it was only for a few hours.” Tihana’s sad chuckle was heard.
“Everything would be fine.” Diana consoled.
“I hope so.”
“So, how is the honeymoon going so far?”
“Bad as expected and guess what, we’re already on our way back to America.”
“Really?!” Diana’s face lit up in happiness.
“Yeah and I can’t wait to come back. I seriously can’t wait to stop breathing the same air as him.” Tihana said the last sentence in a low voice that one could hardly hear her.
“I also can’t wait but why did you say that in a whisper?”
“He is here in the plane with me and I don’t want him to hear. I’ve disrespected him enough for a day.”
“And I know whatever you might have said in a form of disrespect was because of his attitude.” Diana shrugged.
“You’re actually right about that, but what can I do? He is still my boss.”
“Alright, if you say so.”
“Yeah, see you whenever we arrive.”
“Alright, just make sure to give me a call when you’ve gotten over to this side.”
“Sure, I will. Bye.”
“Bye.” Diana replied before hanging up.
She smiled a little and put her phone back in her bag.
She missed her so much even if she was away for just a few days. She would finally see her friend again.
She took a deep breath as she closed her eyes.
A knock was heard at the door, making Diana open her eyes.
“Come in.”
The door opened and the secretary came in.
“The boss asked me to collect the files he asked you to hold onto this morning.”
“Okay.” Diana opened her shelf as she searched for the file.
She found the file and stretched it out to the secretary.
The secretary collected the file and bowed slightly before leaving.
Diana sighed and resumed her work.

She was finally back from that horrible honeymoon and to her hometown.
She closed her eyes as she smiled lightly to herself.
Someone came in and that made her open her eyes.
The maid dropped the bags in the closet.
“Ma’am, should I arrange the clothes now? Or should I come back later to do it?” She asked in a bow. Tihana sat up and nodded for her to go on.
She brought out her phone and unlocked it. She wants to call Diana and inform her of her arrival to America, just like she promised.
She made to start dialing the number when a knock came on the door, she looked at the door as if to see who was knocking.
“Who is there?”
“It’s a maid, ma’am. A friend named Diana is here to see you.”
Tihana face lit up at that instant.
“Let her in.”
Seconds passed with Tihana expecting Diana and she did.
“Hey girlie!” Diana cheered immediately she entered as she came for a hug.
Tihana reciprocated the hug in a wide smile. The two best friends hugged for almost a minute and when they disengaged, Diana chuckled.
“Did you miss me that much?”
“You threw a hand for a hug first and in order not to leave you hanging, I reciprocated.”
“Really? You’re trying to tell me you didn’t miss me when you were in Canada?”
“You heard me right or should I spell it out to you?.” Tihana picked up her phone from the bed.
Diana smacked her on the shoulder, startling her a bit.
“You didn’t miss me but yet, you always called me, huh?” Diana continued smacking her on the shoulder.
“I’m sorry, I was just joking and you know it. I missed you more than anything in this world.” Tihana smiled at her and she smiled back.
“I know.” Diana giggled.
“I thought you said you wouldn’t want to come anywhere close to what belongs to Aiden Turner?” Tihana asked after the maid left the room with Tihana’s dirty clothes.
“He is now married to my best friend who is also a sister to me, so I have to get used to it.” Diana shrugged as she remembered when she said it.
A reason she’s been avoiding Wayne.
“You haven’t told me how your stay with him went?” Diana asked, changing the topic and Tihana rolled her eyes.
“There’s nothing much, just the normal thing we do, avoid each other all day.”
“I won’t heed to that. You’ll have to tell me everything from beginning to the end, no part should be skipped.”
“You’re being serious here?” Tihana raise a brow.
“I am more than serious.”
“You really want to listen to the boring story?”
“No matter how boring it is, as far as it concerns you, it won’t be boring.”
“Alright but can we do that somewhere else?”
“Why? Is your room no longer convenient for you? Because it is to me.”
“Not that. I just want us to hang out, you know, to make up for the time we were not together.”
“You’re right. So, where do we go?”
“Our usual hangout spot will do.”
“Okay, I accept but don’t you think it is getting late?”
“I saw that too and it won’t stop us from going.”
“Where is Aiden by the way? I didn’t see him around when I came.” Diana said as Tihana stood up.
“He drove out again immediately he dropped me here. I don’t really know where he went to and I don’t want to know.” Tihana shrugged and grabbed her purse from the bed.
Diana chuckled lightly.
“Let’s get going now.” They both left the room and completely left the house.
