30. The Three Reasons
30. The Three Reasons
CHAPTER 30: The Three Reasons
"MY NAME IS Lilian Jade Montgomery and I am the Luna of Moon Stone Pack," Lilian introduced
herself in front of the pups when she was given the go signal to speak in front. She's smiling in front of
the kids as they stare at her curiously.
It drifted her thoughts to the pups in Midnight Pack for a moment. The school of pups in Midnight pack
isn't like this. The Jade Alistair School is far nicer than the school in Midnight pack. The walls here are
painted with cute paintings of butterflies, flowers and small pups playing. It was pleasing to see since
it's also colorful. It somehow made Lilian happy seeing the kids enjoying it while learning.
It reminded her of the system before. Every pup isn't privileged enough to go to school unless they are
a daughter or son of a higher ranked wolf. But now... they are all here. Some of the kids are familiar
with her but she couldn't recall their names anymore since she's gone from this pack for a year or
more.
Lilian's gaze went to the side when she saw Alpha Karius talking a bit to Teacher Naia. Teacher Naia
will sometimes laugh as she would also playfully slap Alpha Karius biceps. She's purposely doing it,
that's what Lilian thought as she looked at the both of them.
Teacher Naia is a half human and a half wolf. She's the one teaching the pups in this school. It couldn't
be denied that she's indeed pretty, her mustard dress complimented her sun kissed skin. It was obvious
that Teacher Naia is attracted to Alpha Karius. From the way she laughed and blush, Lilian couldn't
help but to arch her brow a bit as she looked at them.
Meanwhile, Alpha Karius doesn't seem to mind Teacher Naia's advances towards him as he was just
staring at Lilian the whole time as she lectures the wolf some things that she's also teaching back in the
midnight pack. His lips would curl into a small smile when he noticed how attentive the pups are while
she's talking in front. There's no doubt that Lilian loves kids so much.
"Luna! Luna!" A kid suddenly raised his hand making Lilian stop talking while reading a fable.
"Yes?" Lilian asked with a friendly smile still plastered on her lips.
"You're already mated to Alpha Karius, right?" The kid asked as he pouted a bit, like he's so sad on the
news.
"Uh... yeah. Why?" Well, not yet fully mated since she didn't give her mark to him but it would be hard
to explain it to the kids in a simple way.
"Too bad. You're my crush!" The kid blurted out while blushing so hard, making Lilian giggled.
"No, Simon! She's my crush! I want to be her boyfriend when I grow up! Alpha Karius! When will you
break up with your Luna?" Another kid suddenly shouted as he stood up as he shamelessly looked at
Alpha Karius at the back, making the attention of Teacher Naia also look in her direction. The kid was
Axel, the same kid that came to Alpha Karius earlier.
Everyone laughed at Axel but he was just pouting. Lilian couldn't help but to also laugh. Kids are
indeed a breath of fresh air for her.
Alpha Karius at the back sighed heavily but there's a small smirk on his lips as he goes in front, not
minding Teacher Naia who's gawking at him. His both hands are placed inside his pocket as he throws
a glance at the kids.
"Axel, I already told you that I won't allow that," he told the pouting kind. He then went to Lilian's
direction and she gasped on the next thing that he did. He pulled her on the waist making the kids
cheered at their 'sweetness' before planting a kiss at the side of her head. Meanwhile, the other two
kids who are claiming that Lilian is their crush were both frowning at Alpha Karius and Lilian.
"Yieeeeh! Our Alpha is so sweet!" one kid cheered.
Lilian doesn't know what to react but she could feel how her face heated as the kids looked at the both
of them dreamily, like they also can't believe that their Alpha is acting sweet in front of them. Alpha
Karius was just smirking, it was obvious that he's enjoying the attention that the kids are giving to them.
Lilian cleared her throat to conceal the sudden feeling that she felt at the pit of her stomach. She knew
that feeling... the feeling where there's a butterfly inside her grumbling and she wouldn't deny the fact
that it was a nice feeling.
But her thoughts drifted to something. She shouldn't feel this way. She's here for her revenge... for
Alpha Karius to get hurt and experience all his pain that she had felt before.
Moments later, Alpha Karius gets off Lilian as she tries to act like she's not affected at all while she
continues her lecture. Her expression went emotionless when their eyes met secretly... like it was
enough to tell him that she didn't really like what he did just a while ago. She didn't like how he got
suddenly touchy in front of the kids because it somehow made her feel those strange feelings again.
***
"I'M SORRY FOR what I did earlier."
Lilian stopped from fixing the instructional materials scattered on the floor as soon as she heard Alpha
Karius' voice. The pups went out for a bit together with their Teacher Naia for their quick snacks. And
now, she's left with Alpha Karius inside the room.
She looked at him seriously. "I honestly didn't like what you did. Don't touch me like that in front of the
other wolves again without my permission." Lilian made sure that her tone was firm and cold. After the
realization hits her earlier that she's starting to feel that kind of emotion again, she thought that it would
be better to guard her heart this time.
It has only been a few days after she got back in the Moon Stone pack and yet here she is, already
shakened about her revenge. She should only focus on that thing. That's the real reason why she
came back here.
He sighed deeply as he looked at Lilian and put the educational books on the shelves. He couldn't help
but to gulp seeing her bum protruding a bit because of her above the knee dress that would hitch up a
bit whenever she moved. He tore off his gaze from that and focused on Lilian's face this time. This is
not the time to get turned on even though his wolf is really pushing him to grab Lilian's soft bum against
the thin fabric of her dress.
"This school... I built it three months after you... disappeared." He suddenly opened up about it. He
wanted her to know about it. That made Lilian finally face him without any hint of emotion on her face.
Jade Alistair School. A school named after their second names. He built it because his reasons were all
connected to her.
"Why did you name it that way? Jade Alistair, huh?" She chuckled without any hint of humor in her tone
as she shook her head a bit.
"I named it that way for three reasons..."
Her brow arched a bit as she crossed her arms in front of her chest, trying to intimidate him but it was
useless since he wasn't even bothered on the way she stared at him. She's actually curious about his
so-called three reasons. There are many changes in this pack in just a span of a year. And she must
admit that this school is one of the changes that she really likes here. Every pup in the pack is now
given the opportunity to learn despite their status in life, a thing that she didn't experience before.
Remembering about it, Lilian couldn't help but to feel sad about herself before. She didn't have the
chance to learn just like the kids now. She learned with the help of the elderly omegas who taught her
the basic things like writing and reading. Other than that, she self-studied and was fond of reading Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
books whenever the elderly omegas give her old books. When she had a relationship with Alpha
Karius, one of their bonding before is he would sometimes lecture him some basic things about their
race.
It was fun before. But remembering it all now is just making her want to suddenly just forget all of it.
"What are those three reasons then?" Lilian was actually curious about it.
"It was all connected to you." He sighed, there's a sad smile formed on his lips. "First, this school keeps
on reminding me of you. I knew before that you love kids so much when we were still together and it
hurts me because we can't be a normal mated wolves like any other else..."
Lilian clenched her jaw when she suddenly brought up the past. Well, she said that before but they
didn't really plan to have a child but that happened...
"Second is... it has been my coping mechanism from what happened to you. They keep on telling me
that you were... d-dead. And I didn't believe them. I knew that you would come back to me someday."
He smiled bitterly. "I worked so hard to build this school to not think too much about you before. I also
buried myself with work not minding what would everyone say to me anymore. It hurts because
everyone just keeps on shoving in my face that you're already dead." He chuckled without any trace of
rumor in his tone.
She remained staring at her as she suddenly felt the lump on her throat, not planning to interrupt him.
"And third... the most painful one. I built this school because of our... lost little pup. Penny told me about
it, Lilian. She told me that..." He looked down as his eyes turned misty. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry…"
