CHAPTER 27: The Wicked Smirk
LILIAN BURSTED OUT in laughter when she saw that Mason almost passed out in his position right
now. It seems like what she said is still registering in his head but he realized that she's just kidding.
Everyone who heard what she said didn't seem to find it funny. Instead, they remained silent as her
laughter was the only thing that could be heard in the whole place.
When Mason finally recovered moments later, he smirked. "A-Are you sure, Luna? Do you know how to
play archery?" he asked, masking his nervousness with what he said. Mason was actually uneasy. He
knew that Lilian was not good at this. He had known her before and she's one of the Omegas he
doesn't really like. Lilian is a hard headed omega, added the fact that she's also accused of being a
thief by Gianna before.
It's still not registering to his mind that she's indeed alive after what he did before. He already admitted
to his mistake before but seeing her like this now... as if she's taunting him and mocking him... it
irritates the hell out of him. He can't just scold her like what he's doing before since he's now the new
Luna of the pack. Alpha Karius already marked her. So, the best thing that he should do now is to lay
low or else... Alpha Karius will punish him again.
Lilian suddenly smirked. "Actually... no." She lied, making Mason feel tense even more. "But I'm familiar
with this game."
Her voice was teasing, as if playing archery was not a deadly game to someone who's not even playing
it, that's what Mason thought in his head. He wanted to protest. He wanted to stop Lilian from doing
what she wanted to do but he couldn't. He can't disobey Alpha Karius' Luna... the real Luna.
Mason cleared his throat. "Then you can use the board as the target instead."
Lilian shook her head. "No. I want you to be the target. Get an apple and put it on your head."
"B-But... Luna, you might hit me--"
"Isn't that cool? It will be much more fun if I hit your face instead." She cut him off from speaking with
her most authoritative tone.
Mason wasn't able to speak after that and was just clenching his jaw. The other wolves who were
hearing their conversation didn't say a word and were just staring at them but it was visible on their
faces that they were shocked by what Lilian just said.
But then, the tension died down a bit when Lilian suddenly laughed again as she shook her head, like
everything was just pure entertainment to her. Mason couldn't help but to clench his jaw again as his
hand balled into fist.
"Just follow what our Luna wants you to do, Mason... or else, the Alpha will know about this," Calyx
suddenly said, making Mason inhale air and tilt his head a bit. He then later on nodded his head. He
can't mess up again. The last thing that he wanted to happen is to make Alpha Karius mad again. The
last time that he was mad at him was... he doesn't want to remember it again.
But one thing is for sure. He doesn't want to waste this second chance again.
"Fine." Mason nodded as he got an apple placed on the side, at the top of the table, and walked
towards the board and positioned himself there. Like what Lilian told him, he put the apple on his head
and stood straight like a statue.
Lilian smirked when she saw that there's a hint of nervousness in Mason's face even from a few
distance. He's not moving at all. She got the bow and arrow and scanned it curiously. It's almost the
same as the one she's using back in Midnight Pack, so she's sure to herself that she could use it
properly. She may not be the best player of archery in Midnight pack but at least, she knows how to hit
the bullseye.
"A-Are you sure with this, Luna? You might really hit his head," Clarine said nervously to Lilian.
Lilian just smiled at her sweetly and didn't bother to reply to what she said anymore. She sighed and
positioned herself to aim the target-- the apple on Mason's head. She stretched it and readying to aim
the apple and not long enough, she released it smoothly. She never once trembled while holding the
arrow so she was sure that the result was good.
And just what she thought, it hits the apple, making everyone gasps in amazement like they're not
really expecting it to happen. They even clapped their hands making Lilian smile proudly at them all.
"Wow!"
"Our Luna can play archery!"
"She's so good!"
Lilian could hear the series of compliments from the other wolves around her and she was just
smirking, not because she was able to hit the apple but because of Mason's reaction as he stared up
on his head. He was obviously shaking like his head was the one who got hit but immediately sighed in
relief when it didn't.
"That was one hell of a nice shot!" Clarine commented beside her with eyes widened in shock as Lilian
put the bow and arrow on the table beside them. Clarine even pointed the arrow that just hit the apple
on Mason's head as she gasped in amazement.
Lilian was just giggling at everyone's reaction as she smoothly fixed her hair and tucked it behind her
ears, like what she just showed was nothing at all.
"So... you've learned how to play archery, huh?" Calyx said seriously but there's a little smirk forming
on his lips. It was also obvious that he was amazed from her shot earlier. He was one of those wolves
who clapped their hands earlier.
Lilian shrugged her shoulders. "Hmm. Not really." She giggled. "It's just beginner's luck."
"What?! Beginner's luck? It seems like you've been playing archery all your life!" Clarine suddenly told
her.
Lilian didn't bother to answer what she just said anymore and looked at Mason once again. He's still
not moving in his position as if everything is still not sinking inside his head. She smirked at him. If ever
he's going to do another monkey business while she's here, she swear that the arrow will bury on his
face for real next time.

HOW'S YOUR DAY?" Alpha Karius asked once Lilian got inside his mansion. The helpers immediately
went towards her direction as if they were ready to assist her if she wanted help but she just raised her Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
hand a bit, signaling them that she doesn't need their help.
"It was fine," Lilian answered quickly as she made her way to the refrigerator to get cold water.
Alpha Karius was just following her as she drank on her glass. Lilian could feel her piercing gaze
behind him, realizing that he wouldn't just go away.
Meanwhile, Alpha Karius was staring seriously at Lilian but his wolf was really itching to touch him. But
he can't since he could feel the barrier between them, and he doesn't want to just invade her personal
distance just like that even though they already did more than that for a lot of times. What can he do?
Lilian was just so effortlessly beautiful and sexy in her simple dress. It awakens the bulge in between
his thighs but he's trying to stop himself.
"Calyx told me that you played archery earlier... and he also said that you've hit the target smoothly,"
Alpha Karius said, trying to strike a conversation between them.
Lilian stared at him before she put the glass on the sink and washed it. She turned around and saw his
face. His expression instantly softened when he met her gaze.
"Yeah. I've been playing archery back then in Midnight pack. I trained with the other wolves there, so..."
She shrugged her shoulders. "It was just easy for me to aim the target."
He nodded. "I see. I hope one of these days, I could train with you..."
She smirked. "Let's see about that. Aren't you busy with your Alpha duties?" she asked as she took a
step closer towards his direction.
Lilian saw how his Adam's apple moved when she lifted her hands and held his broad shoulders. His
eyes darkened when he looked closely at Lilian's face. She could smell his manly scent mixed with
mint from his breath that made her almost forgot about the sudden idea came to her mind.
"I already did some of my duties the other day. I'm sure the next few days, my schedule will be free so I
could accompany you if you wanted to roam around the pack again or if you wanted to train..." he said
huskily. "Or... do you have any idea in mind? I'll be with you..."
"Hmm..." She acted like she was thinking something but the truth is, she's not. Lilian raised her hand a
bit and held his neck, tracing the most sensitive spot. She caressed his skin there as she tiptoed to
reach his ear, brushing her breast to his chiseled chest teasingly. She could feel how he's stopping
himself from groaning from the way he gulped.
"Okay. If that's what you want, Alpha. But I know something that is more exciting than training and
roaming around the pack," she said meaningfully as she looked down at his pants that's obviously
grown a tent. Her hand went down to it and palmed it while looking at his eyes.
A wicked smirk formed on her lips. If this is the only way that she could fully wrap him around her
fingers, then she would do it.
