Make you feel good
Iris tightly clutched the edges of her dress when she saw a grim look on Adolphus’ face.
“Are you going to speak?” Adolphus’ intimidating voice fell on her ears. Iris looked at him and requested him to forgive those servants.
“Why?”
“Because it is a harsh punishment. They are not supposed to die,” Iris proclaimed.
Joshua looked at Iris and wondered how she could speak so casually with Adolphus. To him, it was also surprising that Adolphus let her speak in front of him. There was no one born to oppose his decision.
“Are you the Crown Prince?” Adolphus questioned Iris. She shook her head.
“I know that this problem arose because of me. I was the one who should not have grabbed the attention of His Royal Highness. They did that because Master Adolphus appointed me as his personal attendant when it was only two days for me in the palace. Anyone would get angry if the Crown Prince gave attention to a person like me,” Iris told him, explaining the reason behind his wrong decision.
Joshua slightly widened his eyes. He had no idea what was going on between a servant and the strongest Alpha. But it seemed that Adolphus had his eyes on this servant, which made the other female servants jealous of Iris.
“Are you questioning my decision? You think that I punished them solely because you were appointed by me and I ignored them?” Adolphus arched his eyebrows.
“Yes, Your Royal Highness,” Iris answered while fiddling with her fingers.
“No. You are wrong. They are being punished for punishing the person whom I appointed. They did wrong by taking the law into their own hands. This is my manor, so my rules work here. You can leave,” Adolphus stated. He was no longer interested in talking about that matter.
“Master Adolphus should not have saved me last night then. I also deserve punishment for staying out after 5 pm. If His Royal Highness cannot forgive them, then he must punish me as well,” Iris asserted.
Joshua found Iris a fool. He didn’t know why she was so adamant about saving those servants.
“Joshua, leave!” Adolphus ordered him.
Joshua bowed and walked out, closing the door behind him. Iris gulped and wondered what kind of punishment Adolphus would give her. She kept her head down and heard the footsteps approaching her.
Adolphus halted before her and lifted his hand. Iris tightly closed her eyes in fear, wondering if he was going to slap her. But her illusion broke when his hand rested on one side of her neck.
“You love to talk in front of me. However, in your house, you lived like a timid cat,” Adolphus whispered. His fingers traced her neck, and soon those calloused fingers were under her chin.
She opened her eyes and peered into his eyes. He was right. She was timid in front of her family, but in front of Adolphus, she was not. What could be the reason that she didn’t even care that he was the Crown Prince?
“Fine. I will punish you too. You will help me wash daily. You will prepare my clothes and do every sort of work which I give you. That’s better, I feel,” Adolphus affirmed, and his thumb traced her bottom lip. Those plump, luscious lips that he wanted to taste.
Iris bit her bottom lip and opened her mouth to refuse him.
“Master Adolphus, I cannot agree with that. Please modify your punishment,” Iris requested him. “Also, I could get a bigger punishment than this. Please release those servants. I don’t want the Crown Prince to kill all of them,” she said. This time, her voice was softer and gentler than before.
“Iris, you always forget that you are a servant who has no right to choose, nor can you negotiate with me,” Adolphus reminded her.
Iris bit her bottom lip because she had not thought about that. Indeed, she had lost her freedom to him.
“Don’t do that anymore,” Adolphus asked.
Iris lifted her eyes to meet his gaze and asked him, “What did I do?”
“Biting your lower lip when you fall in confusion,” Adolphus said.
“Oh, why?” Iris asked in her innocent voice.
Adolphus ducked his head so that his lips came at the same level as Iris’s. “Because I may kiss you the next time you do it,” he asserted.
Iris widened her eyes and the blush spread across her cheeks. How could he speak that way to her? Like a ripened tomato, her face had turned red. It made Adolphus smile in amusement.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“Be ready to get my kind of punishment, Iris.” His breath fanned against her lips. “For you, I have different kinds of punishments, and I know you will like that too,” he said with a smirk.
Iris didn’t like those words, but why did they seem amusing to her? As if she wanted to know about the punishment that Adolphus would give her.
“May I know if Master Adolphus will forgive those servants if I get those different kinds of punishments?” She inquired. She was good at household chores, so she didn’t have to worry about that. Even if he made her clean the entire palace, she would do that.
Adolphus leaned closer to her and she glued herself to her place. She forgot to breathe for a while as his cheek touched hers. “Something that will make you feel good,” he whispered in her ear.
Iris tilted her head when Adolphus leaned back and their eyes again met. “How can punishment feel good? I am unable to understand His Royal Highness,” she murmured.
“Shall I show you?” Adolphus asked.
Iris, being curious, nodded her head at him. Adolphus chuckled, wondering how she could be so naive.
“Next time, Iris. I am busy at the moment,” Adolphus replied, brushing the fringes away from her face.
“Are you ready for tonight?” He then asked her.
“Ready for?” She inquired.
“We have to go to a ball,” Adolphus reminded her.
“I remember, Master Adolphus. I shall take my leave. Thank you for listening to me,” Iris said and bowed. She left the chamber, and Joshua, who was outside the chamber, was surprised to see her alive.
