Chapter 2114
Rosalind paid the bill without even glancing at Ethan and Lydia, then strode out of the restaurant.
Outside, David was already waiting by his car, but Rosalind completely ignored him. She got into her own car, reversed, turned, and drove off smoothly without hesitation.
David didn't even get a chance to say a word to her and could only drive away in frustration.
Ethan and Lydia watched from inside the restaurant as Rosalind and David left one after the other.
Ethan grumbled, "Can you believe David? How could he let a woman pick up the check?"
Lydia shot him a look full of disdain and walked off without saying a word.
"Dr. Lydia, wait up!" Ethan called after her.
In a gentlemanly manner, he opened the back door of his car and gestured, "Your chariot awaits, my lady."
Lydia almost cringed at being called 'my lady.' What was he thinking, saying something so cheesy in public? Didn't he care about embarrassment?
Looking around nervously to ensure no one had overheard, Lydia realized she had never been called 'my lady' before. The title felt so alien to her. How on earth did Ethan manage to say it out loud?
Despite feeling awkward, Lydia got into the car. After all, she had arrived with Ethan, and it was only right that he took her back.
As they reached the entrance to her apartment complex, Lydia asked Ethan to stop.
"I can walk from here," she said, her voice devoid of emotion.
Ethan offered, "Let me walk you to your door."
Lydia's face remained impassive. "No need. I'll get out here."
Ethan could see right through her. "What, afraid I'll find out where you live and come knocking at night?"
"You seem to know yourself pretty well," Lydia didn't deny it.
"Come on, I'm not some creep!" Ethan defended himself but still parked the car.
"That's for you to know," Lydia retorted before stepping out of the car.
Her impression of Ethan was far
from favorable. At their first meeting,
Ethan had been too forward, earning him a solid punch from Lydia NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
Surprisingly, Ethan seemed immune to rejection, constantly bothering her with his unseemly remarks.
In Lydia's eyes, wasn't that just creepy?
She didn't even want to have dinner with him, but he insisted it was to repay a life-saving favor.

uncomfortable, but she figured

hopefully give her some peelet
Back in his car, Ethan watched Lydia disappear into the complex, feeling even gloomier than before the meal. Only when she was out of sight did he call Alaric, unloading his frustrations the moment the call connected.
"Alaric, what was that all about? I end up getting decked, and still, Lydia won't give me the time of day!"
Alaric replied calmly, "Hold your
horses. Lydia never had any interest to begin with. How could she have a change of heart? Do you even listen to yourself?"
