Surprised
He looked away from me and glanced in another direction. I followed his gaze and immediately stood up when I understood what he was trying to convey. There was another room connected to this one. I walked towards it. When I saw clothes, shoes, watches, and jewelry, I was truly amazed. This man is incredibly organized!
I quickly grabbed some black clothing. His casual wear consisted mainly of black, gray, and white. When I returned, I approached him.
“Sir, please put this on,” I said, placing the clothes on the edge of the bed. His eyes were closed.
“Are you going to sleep again, sir?”
“D-Do you… c-can you… help… me… dress?” I heard him say, even though it was faint.
He’s already sick, and yet he’s still so grumpy!
He sat up and leaned against the headboard of the bed. When he was about to get his clothes to put them on, I saw that he was having difficulty lifting both of his arms. I took a deep breath and approached, kneeling on the bed and reaching out to take the clothes from him.
“Sir, I’ll do it,” I said.
He couldn’t do anything as I took the black clothing. He’s really weak; I could feel it. He struggled to sit up and move. When I held onto his arm, it felt like an electric shock ran through me.
Damn. I swallowed hard and stopped for a moment. When I looked down at his face, I realized he was also looking at me. So close!
I bit my lower lip when I saw his eyes fixed on me. He looked so weak yet sexy.
Focus, Tangi!
I returned my attention to dressing him. I pulled the clothes down and adjusted them. I don’t know why, but I automatically brushed his messy hair to fix it.
So soft…
I’m glad he didn’t complain or maybe he just didn’t have the strength to?
but why did you have to touch him, Tangi?
“Give m-me the food.”
I winced when he spoke. I stepped back and grabbed the plate. I also served the food, and the rice was still steaming when I handed it to him. He should eat while the food is hot.
And why am I feeling hot right now? The room temperature is fine!
As I was about to hand him the plate, I noticed he was struggling to move. So when he reached out to take it from me, I pulled it away.
“What are you doing?” he asked, sounding grumpy even though he’s sick!
I didn’t respond to him. Instead, I sat on the edge of his bed and took the spoon myself. He furrowed his brow, and his thick eyebrows met.
“I can feed myself,” he said.
“Sir, let me do it. It’s difficult for you to raise your hands, and you might accidentally spill your food on the bed,” I said.
He didn’t protest anymore. He knew he was struggling. I started feeding him. After about three spoonfuls, I briefly placed the plate on his bedside table and took the bowl. It’s good if he can sip some hot soup.
I’m glad he still has an appetite to eat. I continued to feed him, and he didn’t complain or act grumpy anymore. But I was nervous, his looks… I suddenly became afraid that he might have noticed something about me.
“Wow,” I said and placed the empty plate back on the tray. The tinola was gone, including the broth. The rice was also finished.
Next, I picked up another glass of water and the medicine.
“I can’t believe you finished it, sir. I’m sure you’ll be better by tomorrow,” I said and gestured for him to open his mouth for the medicine, “Sir, aahh… come on, take this medicine to ensure a speedy recovery.”
I was surprised when his eyes rolled.
Did he just roll his eyes at me?!
But he did follow my lead. He opened his mouth, and I placed the medicine inside. Then, I tilted the glass to give him some water to drink. After I finished my task, I took a deep breath. I grabbed the air conditioning remote again and lowered the temperature further.
“Sir, if you need anything, just call me on the cellphone, okay? I’ll be heading down now,” I said.
I glanced at him, and I saw that he was lying down again, covered up.
He’s a big man, really big. But when he’s sick, he looks like a child that needs care.
When he didn’t respond, I picked up the tray. I was about to leave the room when I heard his voice.
“Tali.”
I turned to look at him when he called my name.
“Thank you.”
My lips parted. I nodded and smiled.
At least he knows how to thank someone.
“You’re welcome, sir! Get well soon!” I said cheerfully.
I headed to the kitchen. I placed the used dishes in the sink and started washing them. I never expected this. I’m here to find his flaws, and I’ve already seen some aspects of his personality that I don’t like. But this man… he’s mysterious to me.
On my very first day, I’d already learned so much about him.
I still have 60 days to get to know him more.
And I must not forget the real reason why I’m here.
“You’re not here to get to know him if you meet. Don’t forget the real reason why you’re in his house and doing this, Tangi. You’re here to find something that will be a reason for your wedding not to push through.”
I should remind myself of that constantly.
The man is dangerously handsome, he has a sharp tongue, but I admit he’s so handsome that even I was stunned by his small movements. I should guard myself; I might end up losing this game I’m playing. Also, it’s a big Yes that he likes plants. This might be a challenge for me.
I stopped scrubbing the plate.
“What are you thinking, Tangi?” I asked myself. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
I let out a sigh. After finishing washing the used dishes, I headed back to my room. I flopped down on the bed. As I contemplated what might happen tomorrow and in the days to come, I suddenly remembered Rozzean from earlier.
“He still knows how to thank someone… he’s not that evil.”
I didn’t realize it, but I was already smiling.
