Chapter 26
“Mom, wake up,”
Hivo, baby? Where are you?
“Grandma, when will mommy wake up?”
Grandma? Who’s grandma? Where am I? Where are we?
“I don’t know son. Let’s hope she’ll wake up soon. Your mom needs to wake up for your sibling,”
Sibling? I slowly opened my eyes. Where am I?
“She’s awake grandma.” I turned to my son and scanned the whole place. We are in a hut.
“How are you feeling?” and old lady asked me.
“I’m dizzy. Are you the one who helped us?”
“Yes. You passed out when you knocked on our door to ask for help.”
“Thank you again for your help. Can you tell me what day it is today?”
“Mommy, I think we’ve been here for 3 days. You’ve been sleeping too long, mama.” I was surprised by what my son said. Maybe Steven is already looking for us.
I was about to get up when the old man stopped me.
“Don’t take your body by surprise. You need to rest especially now that you’re pregnant.”
Huh?
“Pardon?”
“You’re pregnant.”
What? I was shunned. I just woke up, then I was immediately pregnant? Seriously?
“I think you’re two months old pregnant.”
Oh my God.
“Mom, I’m going to be a big brother?” I couldn’t answer Hivo. With everything that happened, including jumping off the cliff, it’s a miracle that the baby in my womb didn’t die. My God, thank you!
“How did you know?” I asked. How did they know I’m pregnant?
The old woman smirked at me. “Our ancestors taught us to distinguish things without the help of technologies. We are native on this land, we have our own way of living.”
I see. Maybe they are right. It’s been months since I started to work as Steven’s maid and we had sex many times already. I shouldn’t be surprise if I’m pregnant now.
I need to see him right away. I have to tell him the news.
“Grandma, do you have a phone?”
“We don’t have anything like that. Our life here is different. We can’t afford a phone.”
“Alright. I’m sorry for the trouble,” I said.
“Oh, it’s fine. The best thing is to rest first so you and your son can go home to your family.”
I nodded and leaned against the wooden bed. Hivo climbed on the bed and hugged me.
“Mom, I’m glad you’re okay,”
“I’m sorry son,”
That night when we jumped, I tried to walk the muddy path to ask for help. I have many wounds but I’m worried about Hivo’s well-being.
I was also afraid that those people who chased us would find us, so that’s why I ran to ask for help at the first hut I saw.

THIRD PERSON
Ria’s recovery in the province took three weeks. Her legs were crushed when she and Hivo jumped into the car at the highest speed.
Gradually, she’s getting better. She’s happy cause they can finally go home to Steven.
But since she had no money, Ria was forced to pawn her earrings that she had been wearing since she was a child. It was a legacy of her grandmother who took care of her.
On the fourth weeks,
“Gramps, grandma, please take this,” Ria gave money to the old couple who took care of them.
“Oh no. Just use that on your trip,”
“Just accept it, that’s not even enough for everything you did to us.”
Ria put the money in Feliciana’s hand and thanked her sincerely. She then turned to her son.
“Hivo, mommy will be back, okay? You’ll be safer here.”
“Okay, mom. Promise that you’ll bring dad back here?”
Ria nodded. She’s temporarily leaving Hivo to the old couple who helped them. Her plan is to find Steven first and bring him back to the place where they rested.
She didn’t know the person behind the incident that’s why she’s careful.
“Yes, mommy promise that,” Ria kissed her son before she leave.
It would take her six hours of travel to reach Steven’s condo unit.
It was late in the afternoon when Ria arrived at Steven’s condo. Before she rang the doorbell, she touched first her belly.
‘Your father will be happy for sure,’ Ria whispered in the air. She’s excited that they will have another child.
Ria pressed the doorbell but no one opened the door.
‘Where’s Steven?’ she wondered.
When no one really opened the door, Ria decided to go to his house where Amanda lives.
She had a lot of trust in Steven so she wasn’t too nervous.
When Ria arrived, she noticed there were many cars surrounding the house of Steven. She didn’t know what was going on.
‘Is there a party?’ She wodered. She slowly approached the crowd.
‘Why is there media? What’s up?’
‘Great! They really are the end game,’ Ria heard from the woman next to her while looking ahead.
‘Yes. I didn’t quite think that they would be together until the end.’
Ria looked at the front and she almost fainted to what she witnessed. She saw Steven with Amanda holding hands while smiling at the crowd.
‘What’s going on?’ she asked
“Finally, they are getting married,” Ria heard a woman who was sitting at the round table with Steven’s mother.
“They’re good, aren’t they?”
Ria saw Mrs. Alvante, smiling at her friends. Ria feel betrayed.
She was suddenly got dizzy so she moved away from the crowd.
She was hurt seeing Steven, holding Amanda’s hand and proud that he was about to marry her.
Tears welled up in Ria’s eyes before finally turning to leave.
‘Shh.. It’s okay baby. Mom is here. Mama won’t leave you,’ Ria said as she endured the pain in her stomach.
“Miss,”
‘Shh.. It’s okay baby. Mom is here. Mama won’t leave you,’ Rialyn didn’t notice that this time she was bleeding.
“Sh*t lady. You’re bleeding,” the man who was going to Steven and Amanda’s engagement immediately approached Ria.
He rushed her to the hospital.
The man didn’t leave the hospital. He would have passed Ria earlier if he hadn’t noticed her wet face from crying and that’s when he noticed that she was bleeding.
The doctor came out and immediately approached him.
“Are you the patient’s husband?” The doctor immediately asked him.
“Huh?” The man flinch in shock.
“Don’t worry about your wife. Your child is safe. Just tell her to avoid stress. I’ll go first,”
“Doc, wait a minute”
Vios scratched the back of his head when the doctor didn’t heard him. He looked at Ria.
“Did you bring me here?”
“Hmm.. Yes,”
“Thank you,” Ria said and held her stomach. She was worried that something might happen to her child.
“I’ll make sure Steven never sees his children again.”
The man named Vios was shocked when he heard the name Steven.
“You know Steven?” Vios asked Ria.
“Yes. Why? You know him too?”
“Nope. Dad just ordered me to take his place to attend Steven and Amanda’s engagement party.”
“Oh okay. Yeah, I know Steven and the snake,” Vios laughed at what Ria said. Earlier she was crying, now she’s like a tiger.
“What’s your name?” Vios askedContent © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Ria. You?”
“Your husband,” he grinned. Well, that what was the doctor said earlier.
