CHAPTER 28
CHAPTER 28
The following morning, Daniella was surprised to see Lilian waiting for her. She smiled at her sister but at the same time, she felt guiltier for doing what she promised she wouldn't do...especially with her ex-husband. "Hi, Lil," she greeted Lilian.
"Good morning, Ella. Did Marcus spend the night here?" She questioned immediately upon seeing her, and when Ella's cheeks flushed, she knew! "However, the airtaxi scheduled for us by Alexander's acquaintance will arrive in thirty minutes. "Are you accompanying us or not?"
Daniella was taken aback when Lilian casually inquired about Marcus, as if he were often present. "Of course I'm returning home, but Lil, I gave Marcus another opportunity." She informed Lilian about her true relationship with Marcus.
"I'm sure you're giving him more than a chance," Lilian replied with a grin toward Daniella. She had always known that Daniella retained some affections for Marcus, despite her best efforts to suppress them. It was evident in her eyes whenever she spoke his name.
"Is it self-evident?" Daniella abruptly became aware of her looks. What if Alexander was also aware of what occurred last night between her and Marcus? "What has become of Alexander?" She enquired.
"Oh, he's outside waiting. He said, "Where is your ex-husband, Marcus?" Lilian made a joke about Marcus to Daniella, and both women giggled.
Daniela and Lilian both came to a halt in their laughter as Marcus emerged from the restroom with only a towel concealing his asset. Lilian locked her gaze on Daniella, her eyes widening as she noticed Ella's hair was also damp. "Wait, you were just getting out of the shower, correct?" She inquired in such hushed tones that Marcus would be unable to hear them.
Daniella nodded and pleaded with Lilian to keep her tongue shut. "There will be insufficient time if you take a shower." She told Lilian that they needed to hurry up and gather their belongings. "Marcus will assist me in packing our belongings; simply proceed to the front desk to check out." She directed her to proceed.
They boarded the airtaxi and were already in Oslob an hour later. Peter was already waiting to pick them up at the tourist drop-off spot.
They were already inside Daniella's property a few seconds later, and Paloma was waiting outside with both hands on her hips. When Lilian discovered Marcus and Alexander had returned home with them, she determined that her mother was insane. "Howdy, Ma." As soon as she stepped out of the car, she kissed her cheek. Daniella followed suit, but Paloma disregarded them, her eyes flashing with wrath. Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
"We need to speak privately!" Paloma reprimanded her daughters. She took a step forward and approached the gazebo beside the koi pond. "Have you gone insane?" She screamed. Both ladies made the severe error of forgiving guys who cheated and manipulated their emotions! What became of their pride?
"Permit me to explain, Ma."
Lilian attempted to dissuade her mother from continuing with her lecture, which was likely to take an hour.
"Alexander and I have agreed that he would act as Vanessa's nanny until I am able to forgive him. "He will also serve as my personal assistant," she informed Paloma of her deal with Alexander.
"And you believe you're going to get away with it?" Eventually, your feelings for the man will resurface, so how are you going to deal with that, Lil? And you, Ella, had previously stated that you
could never forgive him. What happened?" Her stress level has increased as a result of her girls' inability to regulate their hearts.
"Marcus seems honest Ma, but don't be too concerned; I'm going to guard my heart this time," Daniella swore.
"Identical here, Ma." Lilian concurred with Daniella's statement.
"Whatever you do, just be careful with your hearts and avoid coming to me in tears," Paloma advised Lilian and Daniella. Both ladies were mature enough to manage their relationships on their own, and because they refused to listen to her in the first place, she let it slip and allowed them do whatever they pleased with their partners.
