Chapter 158
Athena smiled at the memories of her past. It felt wonderful to be young and in love, especially when she met Tedmond.
"Yes. I had two mates, but unlike you, the first one accepted me. When I met the second one, your father and I marked each other, so the bond automatically broke," Athena confessed.
Now Alpha Nick felt that having two mates was peculiar to their family, from his mother's side, of course.
"Lucky you," Alpha Nick said with a tinge of jealousy in his voice. How his life had messed up before just because he met the wrong mate first.
Athena tried to recall the family predecessors because of how rapidly Daisy's powers were growing. They needed to take necessary precautions to protect her.
As a young girl, Daisy's adventurous use of her powers was both exciting and scary, but one thing was certain.
"Whoever rejects Daisy would only be the loser. She's an asset," Athena proudly stated.
Daisy was intelligent and dedicated to her training, indicating she would have physical strength. Her beauty was extraordinary, and her powers made her exceptional.
Alpha Nick recognized where Daisy got some of her smart characteristics.
"I'm not surprised. Her mother has multiple talents, so it's very easy for her to blend them all together. With her picking up fighting skills from me, I wouldn't be surprised if she learns hacking too," Alpha Nick said, beaming with pride for his daughter and having a subtle conviction that even without a bond, she would be able to choose the right mate among the
two.
Having so much was a great thing, but with Lavender and other malevolent individuals still alive, Daisy would need to be protected.
A blind witch did not mean a powerless one.
"That is great, but someone with great talent like Daisy should be well hidden. I would advise that we don't expose her to other packs or flaunt her when those Alphas come to visit. It would only make her vulnerable to attacks and envy," Athena advised, as Sheridan added,
"She could even attend school in the human world when she's of age."
Having learned a lot from the human world, Sheridan wanted Daisy to have the same exposure. It would have been a perfect way to hide Daisy if not for what Athena remembered after.
It was not easy when someone got separated from something they had been accustomed to for a long time.
The side effect of being separated from her powers was that Athena was becoming forgetful.
"No," she suddenly said out of the blue. Sheridan was disturbed and asked her, "Ma'am, why no?"
"I just remembered that her powers would suffocate her if she gets close to water. I did not remember it because we don't have rivers or pools here, but the human world and some of the packs do." This revelation seemed like a double-edged sword. The Dark Moon pack was safe for Daisy, but what if she found her mates in different packs or even in the human world? There had to be a solution to this, especially when she was destined to have two mates. This revelation seemned to dampen their hope.
"Daisy must never swim," Athena concluded.

Alpha Nick did not remember the last time he swam, and neither did Sheridan, but the contemporary world was developing very fast. The youth of these days loved pool parties and all, so how could Daisy live her life without getting close to any of those kinds of water?
Niel's scream interrupted the conversation, and Goldie took him to breastfeed.
Sheridan remembered her pregnancy and delivery experience. "Daisy never even had breast milk."
"Alpha Nick did not have it either," Athena reminded her that she was not alone in the battle of raising perfect children.
"I love you mommy," Daisy suddenly, said, tears filled Sheridan's eyes. The little girl showed a usual obsession to her father than her so this was heartwarming.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
"I love you so much Daisy, you have no idea," Sheridan embraced her daughter as she spoke, the little girl's hands wrapped tightly around her neck.
"And what about us?" Alpha Nick's voice interrupted the moment, Daisy pulled away and went to embrace her dad.
"I love you too Daddy." The she faced Athena, "And grandma." She hugged Athena, then hugged Tedmond. "Grand pa too,
and Auntie Goldie." She hugged Goldie from the side because of Niel, then kissed Niel on the forehead.
"I love Niel, and Uncle Dustin." She embraced Dustin. Being the last to receive the hug, Dustin lifted Daisy in his arms.
"You my girl, are just amazing." Daisy giggled and wrapped his arms around his neck once again, everyone laughed.
A year later, Alpha Ansaldo and Bree welcomed twins, a boy and a girl. It was a grand celebration, the first in the history of their pack.
It was the only pack with a river that Alpha Nick could not prevent Daisy from going, as they went to celebrate the twins birthday.
Daisy, who had turned four by then, shared a special bond with the twin female, Blair. Her twin brother, Blake, also happened to share a special bond with Niel.
Since then, the cousins took turns in attending each other's birthdays. Daisy also attended the birthdays of her seven cousins since it was usually limited to pack members and they would usually come to celebrate with her as well.
A lot happened over the years to shape Daisy into the woman she had become, resulting in fourteen years passing like the wind, and it was Daisy's birthday.
Alpha Nick and Sheridan hoped that she would find her mate in the Dark Moon pack due to how valuable she had become. They could not afford to lose her to another pack, especially when she was their only child.
Daisy was a one-of-a-kind girl, stronger than the men because she was personally trained by the Alpha, her father and her taste for fashion was even greater than that of her mother, Sheridan.
The packs knew that Alpha Nick and Luna Sheridan had a daughter named Daisy, but no one had seen her over the years. Only Blair, Blake, and the seven cousins were invited from the Riverbed pack because they were family.
Those who had seen her as a baby had even forgotten how she looked. As preparations for her birthday celebration were ongoing, Daisy was in the woods with her mother.
I am Nala, your wolf."
"Mom, she's here. We should go tell Dad." Daisy was thrilled to have heard from her wolf for the first time, eager to share the news with her father.
However, Sheridan was savoring this moment with her daughter being a bit selfish. Daisy had grown into a gorgeous woman, prettier and stronger than her mom and dad.

"Try shifting before you tell him," she suggested, trying to prolong their time together.
Daisy obeyed her mother, only realizing too late that a first time shift was incredibly painful.
"It hurts," the sound of bones cracking was heard as the pain shot through her.
Not even all the pains during training could compare with the pain of her first shift. Daisy endured it, but when the shift was over, Sheridan gasped.
She had never heard or seen this kind of wolf before. "A green wolf!"
Daisy shifted back and wore the extra clothes they had brought along, but her mother was still shaken from shock.
"Mom, what's the problem? Let's go see Dad."
Sheridan snapped out of her trance, thinking she had seen wrongly, but before she could say anything, something else caught her attention. "Your eyes."
