Chapter 70
Chapter 70
‘Not a big deal,” she shook her head, tucking the damp blanket neatly over, “Hit the hay”
Elgin got up and glanced over, “Come to the bed.”
“What?
I said get your butt up here, Elgin yelled with a dark face.
“Nah’ Letitia desined, “It’s OK to sleep on the floor*
I’m not fond of repeating myself thrice.
With no other choice under his stem pressure, Letitia silently clambered onto the bed.
She leaned as far to the edge as possible, keeping a country mile between them, not even letting her dress hem touch him.
“Why are you sleeping on the edge like that?” His expression soured even more, “You want to fall out of bed?”
“No way, I’m. I’m slim and don’t take up much space. As Letitia spoke, she inched even further to the side.
Elgin snapped the light off with anger. NôvelDrama.Org content rights.
In the darkness, one lay on the far left, the other on the far right, with a gulf as wide as the Milky Way between them.
But at least Letitia didn’t sleep underneath.
That night, Letitia slept with bated breath.
So, at the crack of dawn, she bolted out of bed, not willing to endure another second of torment!
Seeing her up so early, the butler raised an eyebrow, “Madam, it’s it’s just past six.”
“Yep, I know, early to bed and early to nse tend to make me healthy, haha!”
“You got back late last night and up this early…”
Letitia touched her nose and explained, “Up for a bit of a workout”
Strolling around the garden, she stumbled upon the fact that the fence around the artificial lake in front of Ivory Towers… had grown
taller.
It must be Elgin who did this. And whenever Letitia tried to head towards the lake, the bodyguards would get jittery, fearing she might hurt herself
Well… she had to roam the garden.
Waking up early was a real drag, she wandered for ages and it wasn’t even eight yet.
Just as she thought about maybe going to sketch some design drafts, the gate slowly swung open.
A car rolled in
The butler promptly greeted, “Master Hawley, you’ve arrived.”
Hawley stepped out beaming with high spirits.
The good condition of a “great-grandpa” is not exaggerated. Joy put heart into this old man.
Phedra went off after him. Instead of being as vigorous as Hawley, she was tight-lipped.
“Grandpa, Letitia called out proactively.
“Ah, up so early?” Hawley inquired, “Gotta keep yourself well for the baby to thrive, you know.”
“I slept like a log.”
“Hawley, remember she’s Dr. Sanders’ daughter, Phedra cautioned under her breath
Hawley clicked his tongue in annoyance, “Why you gotta harp on about that all the time?”
“Stop your excuse! You’re about to be a grandma, that’s good news, ain’t it!”
The Ramirez family will continue with a first-born grandson, of course I’m thrilled, Phedra managed a smile. “But Letitia’s status..”
“What’s all thes fuss about it? As long as what’s in her belly is Elgin’s baby, that’s all that matters!”
Phedra didn’t dare oppose Hawley and could only sourly quip. “Today, I’ve seen what really means mothers are only valuable for having
I married into the Ramirez family fair and square with a high-class wedding!” Phedra retorted with pride, “Not like you!”
Letitia nodded, “Oh, so your value also relied on your son? After all, only by marrying into the Ramirez family could you birth a son who cames on the family legacy, right?”
Phedra was about to fight back when Hawley waved It off, “Forget it, that black sheep’s not worth mentioning.”
At that, Phedra seemed anxious, “Hawley, our-
“Enough, it’s a happy day, no need for mood spoilers.”
Phedra reluctantly clammed up.
Letitia watched the whole scene. It seemed that… Phedra’s son wasn’t favored by Hawley.
The entire Ramirez Group was firmly in Elgin’s grip.
In this way, Phedra and her son were just figureheads. In the most luxurious family in AquaCity, getting an allowance but no access to the real perks must be a tough pill to swallow
So, Letitia thought, maybe Phedra and her son had the strongest motive to abort her baby!
“By the way, Letitia, did you finish those health supplements I sent last time? Hawley inquired with concern, “I’ll send you more.”
Thanks, Grandpa.”
Phedra turned even more jealous, “Master Hawley I get you’re eager for a great-grandchild. But to be blunt, whether the kid is Elgin’s…!
Letitia felt offended and nervous.
“Bullshit!” Hawley was even more irate. “From the get-go, Letitia’s been under Elgin’s watch. If there are any slip-ups, he’d have known by
now!”
Phedra panicked, “I won’t query any other woman. But she is Letitia!”
“Letitia=”

When both Hawley and Letitia started to speak, Elgin’s voice thundered over theirs from a distance.
“What about Letitia? She’s my lawfully wedded wife with the marriage certificate and legal recognition. Plus, she’s my first wife.”
It was a jab at Phedra from all aspects.
Elgin approached, his gaze icy and aloof. He didn’t even
glance at Phedra.
“Come on, Elgin, you’re just in time,” said Hawley, “Phedra’s always fretting that the kid in Letitia’s belly ain’t yours. Time for you to clear
the air”
“Her? Worth my time to clarify?” Of course, Elgin knew what Phedra was up to.
She’d been on time every day with soup that would’ve sterilized him, and now Letitia’s suddenly expecting
Phedra was in confusion, but she couldn’t just frankly admit like, “Hey, I’ve already sabotaged Elgin’s chances of having kids,” so she was freaking out
Eigin flashed a sly grin, “If Phedra’s so skeptical, let’s hear her ideas.”
“Uh, I, I…” Phedra fumbled over her words.
“It seems like you know more about our marriage than we do, huh?”
“No,” Phedra hurried to explain, “I was just… showing some concern for you.”
Even though her mind was buzzing with questions, she didn’t dare to say a word.
Right on cue, Hawley chimed in, “Come on, no need to go at each other’s throats the second you meet. We’re still family, after all.”
Elgin asked nonchalantly, “So, Grandpa, what brings you to Ivory Towers so early in the day?”
“Just dropped by to check on you guys. Also, I picked up a few things for my future great-grandchild.”
After that, Hawley clapped his hands
Then the driver started hauling stuff out of the trunk.
