Chapter 13
Kyle gets me home at about ten. I just leave him behind in the truck and charge up to my apartment. I get in and slam the door shut. Courtney looked over from the couch. “What happened?”
“I don’t know how you can stand those people.” I growl in frustration.
“Let me guess, they were a bunch of bitches. You know all you have to do is be the bigger bitch.”
The door opens behind me. “Danny, it wasn’t that big of a deal.”
“Really, let’s make sure all the guys ogle me and the girls are total bitches.” I am pissed. I have held it in long enough.
“They weren’t ogling.” I glare at him. “Ok, they were ogling.”
“I am not going out with them again.”
“Ok, you don’t have to.” He puts his arms around me. “It’s alright. They aren’t your kind of people. That’s perfectly fine.”NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Courtney laughs. “They are your people though.”
Kyle glares at her. “I don’t care.”
Kyle drags me off to my room. He closes the door behind us. “I am sure you want to back out now. Normally I would let you, but I really need this Danny.” He is just blocking the door, not letting me out.
“Kyle, can’t you just say that we slept together now. It’s not like they don’t think you are some casanova. You can just say you duped me. They don’t like me, they will believe you. I’ll back you up.”
“Well, maybe if I didn’t just piss you off in front of them. Now they know I am not sleeping with you tonight.”
“UGH. This is just frustrating.”
“Is it really that bad being my girlfriend?” He seems a little hurt about it.
“That’s not it. It’s fine when it is just you and me. When we have to add other people I want to scream. Especially those bitches that are around. Like what was the brunette’s problem with me?”
“Brunette’s problem is that I don’t like her.” He gives me an isn’t it obvious look.
“Obviously you did at one point.”
“Ok, at one point we slept together, is that what you wanted to hear? I didn’t like her. It just happened.”
“You don’t have to justify yourself to me. Just don’t make me hang around her.”
He looks a little ashamed. “Yeah, I do. I won’t make you hang around her again. Kelly is just a bitch.”
He reaches out for me. “Please, still be my girlfriend.”
“Why do I have to be your girlfriend? I mean don’t you usually just do this. You don’t have girlfriends if you can help it.”
He smiles. “You’re special. You require whining and dining.”
“Fine, I will still be your girlfriend.” I roll my eyes and groan.
He scoops me up in his arms. “See, I knew we could work it out. Now, we have another issue. I’m going to have to spend the night. Let people know that we made up. Otherwise they are going to think you kicked me to the curb.”
“Who is going to know?”
He gives me that look again. “Do you honestly think that lover boy isn’t going to be over here first thing in the morning trying to sweep you off your feet? Yeah, that isn’t happening.”
“So for the sake of Jordan coming over in the morning, you need to spend the night.” I am not sure I am buying that, but it does sound like something that Jordan would do.
“Yeah, exactly.”
“Fine, but I’ll have to see if Courtney has some sweats I can borrow. I don’t want you to wake up the way you did this morning.”
