Chapter 2 Go and Be a Prostitute
Chapter 2 Go and Be a Prostitute
Joanna's sarcasm was too harsh to ignore.
But what she said was true.
Lilian's eyes looked down and tried not to look embarrassed. She said as calmly as she could, "Mr. Palmer, I'm here to borrow money. Zoe's having another health issue tonight. She's in the emergency room now, and I don't have enough money, so..."
Sebastian frowned even harder upon hearing that.
This hateful and boring woman spoiled his fun in the middle of the night just for money.
"I should have known..." Joanna sounded even meaner, "Money is the only reason which could drive Mrs. Palmer here in the middle of the night, but..."
She turned around and hugged Sebastian. "Don't be so petty, Sebastian. She's your wife anyway. I know you were forced into this marriage by your father... but she seemed really worried, why don't you give him a few grands?"
A few grands?
Lilian clenched her fists. They were taking her as a beggar.
She knew how generous Sebastian was to Joanna. He spent millions on her every month. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
"Lend me 100 thousand yuan, Sebastian. I promise I'll return it to you soon."
She had been called Mrs. Palmer for three years, yet she had never got a penny from Mr. Palmer or his family. This was the first time she asked Sebastian for money. The number was way less than he had spent on any of Joanna's clothes. She thought Sebastian would lend it to her.
The next second.
"Lilian, you've crossed the line. I know your daughter is sick, but why don't you figure out the solution by yourself? What do you expect me to do? Shame on you for asking! Why do I have to help you?"
Lilian almost cried when she heard that. It was not because of Sebastian's attitude; she was worried her daughter would die if she couldn't get the money.
"Sebastian! Even Joanna knew I am your wife! This is the first time I beg you. I am not taking your money! I would give it back to you... please..." The humble woman even quoted the words from her husband's lover.
"That won't be necessary," Sebastian said coldly, "Stop acting as if you were innocent."
"Zoe's really sick. I cannot think of anyone else for help. That’s why I came to you." Lilian had put down all her pride and dignity. "I can write you an IOU if you want, and I'll give it back with interest. Please, I'm begging you..."
"If you can't come out with a solution, why don't you be a prostitute?" Sebastian interrupted Lilian again. He added impatiently, "I don't want to see you again. Get out!"
"What did you say?" Lilian asked. She stared at Sebastian and couldn't believe what she just heard.
She thought she could bear anything harsh Sebastian said to her, but not this time.
What kind of husband would say that?
"Sebastian, do you really have to be so cold blood? She's your daughter, for God's sake! I understand that you hate me, but how can you be so cold to your own blood?"
Lilian's voice was quivering. She had never felt so desperate.
This cold man was her husband. The man she chose to be bonded with.
She suddenly lost all her strength to continue this relationship...
"My daughter? Don't flatter yourself. I had nothing to do with her! You invaded into my life three years ago! I told you that if you insist on doing that, you should get yourself ready to face difficulties and toughness."
"Also, I don't do charity. I don't care if she dies or not."
Sebastian looked at Lilian. He saw her teary eyes and found them more annoying than ever.
"Get out or I'll call the security to take you out!"
