Spoiled By The Mighty After Dumping The Fuckboy

Chapter 57 Deal With It With Money

Amanda stood in front of the hospital with her phone in hand.

It had just rained at the end of August, and it was still cold in the morning. She only wore a thin knitted cardigan. After standing for a while, she couldn’t stand it anymore and decided to wait in the ward first.

“Amanda.”

Just as she was about to leave, a clear and powerful male voice came from the wind.

Amanda turned around subconsciously, but before she could react, she was pulled into Iverson’s arms.

Through the thick fabric of the suit, she could clearly hear the heartbeats in his chest, which were a little hurried, as if he were running over.

“I thought something had happened to you.”

The voice above her head made Amanda subconsciously stop struggling.

One can’t fake worrying about someone; she was stunned and forgot to push him away. In the evening wind, he held her for a long time. Under the strange eyes of the passers-by, she finally came to her senses.

“Let go of me first.”

Only then did Iverson let go of her.

As the cold wind blew past, the hair on Amanda’s forehead was blown up, revealing a sullen face that was blushing. Her voice was like a mosquito’s. “What can happen to me?”

“Why didn’t you reply to my message?”

“I was so busy sending people to the hospital that I didn’t pay attention to them.”

Under Iverson’s gaze, Amanda felt a deep sense of pressure. She hurriedly said, “I’ll be more careful next time and turn the volume of my phone to the maximum.”

Amanda was obviously frightened. She raised her hand and swore as if she was coerced.

Realizing that he had lost his composure, Iverson finally regained his composure.

“Why did you suddenly come to the hospital? Who was in trouble?”

“A few old people in the old town are unwilling to move away. Some people were sent by the Sean Group to forcibly tear down one’s house, and I happened to meet the thing. Fortunately, the old lady was sent here early. She is more than 90 years old and almost had an accident.”

“Some people were sent by the Sean Group?”

“Olinka.”

Amanda called out Olinka’s name directly, and Iverson frowned slightly.

“Don’t worry. I’ll take care of it. Olinka won’t show up.”

“You taught her yourself. You should know best about her style of doing things.”

“That’s right. I used to think Olinka was too extreme, but I didn’t take her seriously. Now it seems that she is relying on the fact that she is now the general manager of the Sean Group to show off.”

“If it’s not convenient for you to say her, I can talk to the Sean Group.”

“There’s no need.” Amanda rejected him immediately. “I’m in charge of the project, so I can do it. She was fired in the afternoon, and I’ll give her a formal notice tomorrow.”

Iverson nodded slightly.

The two of them stood at the gate of the hospital. This scene was suddenly very familiar to them.

When Amanda thought of how Iverson had accompanied her to take her mother to the hospital, she felt it was terrific.

“It’s late. You haven’t eaten yet, have you? Would you like to have lunch with me?”

Iverson glanced at his watch and frowned slightly. “I have a meeting later, so I can only stay here for half an hour.”

“Ah? Forget it. Go ahead with your work.”

“It’s ok.” Iverson looked around and asked, “What do you want to eat?”

Amanda wanted to refuse, but she swallowed her refusal when she saw the calm man in front of her. She pointed at a Japanese noodle restaurant across the road and said, “Eat some noodles.”

The dishes were served fast so that it wouldn’t delay his afternoon meeting.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

In the noodle restaurant, Amanda thought to herself while drinking tea. “He has a meeting in the afternoon and rushed to the hospital in a hurry just to confirm that I’m fine. He really cares about me.”

It had been a long time since she felt concerned about someone. It was warm and strange.

In the afternoon

In the old house of the Byran Family

Lydia brought a few boxes of delicate Zuppa Inglese, all of which were Mrs. Old Byran’s favorite.

Mrs. Old Byran looked at her with a smile and said, “Lydia, stay for dinner today. You specially sent me so many snacks. I have to thank you.”

“No, grandma. I have something to do in the afternoon.”

“What could be so important? I’ll call Iverson back later and have a meal with him.”

“Grandma, I’m busy.”

With that, Lydia looked troubled. “Grandma, Iverson is getting married. I should avoid arousing suspicion. I understand this kind of thing.”

Speaking of this, Mrs. Old Byran frowned.

“Let’s not talk about this anymore. I’ll revisit you when I’m free. I’m leaving now.”

As she spoke, she left.

Mrs. Old Byran politely tried to persuade her to stay, but she didn’t.

Victoria sighed. “Mom, Lydia knows her limits. She didn’t come here often because she knew that Iverson was getting married. She came here to pick out a time when Iverson wasn’t around.”

“That’s right.” Mrs. Old Byran felt a little sorry for her. “I got along well with her, and the snacks she sent were all my favorite.”

“In comparison, I don’t think Amanda is worthy of our Iverson.”

“Didn’t I tell you to investigate? Did you find anything?”

“That… that’s hard to say.”

“What’s so hard to talk about?” Mrs. Old Byran said impatiently. “If you have something to say, just say it. Don’t hide it. It’s annoying.”

Victoria was in a dilemma. She lowered her voice and said, “Amanda grew up in a single-parent family. Her mother runs a mahjong club, and she has a brother. Her mother often dolled herself up. I heard from the neighbors that she wasn’t easy to deal with when she was young.”

“And didn’t I show you the news some time ago? This Amanda almost ruined our Byran Group’s reputation. She met Iverson half a year ago because of a business deal.”

“Business deal?” Mrs. Old Byran looked pensive. “I heard the Byran Group is working with the Sean Group.”

“It’s that cooperation. Logically speaking, a small company like Sean Group is not to Iverson’s liking. Even if we make a lot of money from investing, it’s just a drop in the bucket. However, Iverson gave Sean Group two investments without saying a word.”

Victoria said sarcastically, “Who would believe that Amanda didn’t play some tricks?”

Mrs. Old Byran’s expression gradually turned severe. “Iverson isn’t stupid. Normal methods won’t work on him.”

“But Iverson has never been in a relationship before, and he has seldom been in contact with a woman. It’s hard to say if he has met a woman who pounces on him like a wolf or a tiger.”

“She’s pretty?”

“I have a photo here.”

Victoria took out her phone. “Look.”

They were photos secretly taken. In it, a woman was sitting in the general manager’s seat in the conference room. She was dressed in a wine-red waist dress, revealing her beautiful shoulders and collarbone. Her long hair hung down to one side, giving her a retro Hong Kong style.

This was definitely the “little goblin” of that era in the eyes of the older generation.

As expected, Mrs. Old Byran’s face darkened in an instant.

“It seems that we have to deal with it well.”

With a cautious tone, Victoria said, “If you agree, I’ll check on this woman first. Perhaps she’s not as bad as she looks.”
