Spoiled By The Mighty After Dumping The Fuckboy

Chapter 24 Dealing with the Trouble After Hired by Commission

At SW Law Office.

A handsome man handed Amanda a cup of tea and said, “Sorry to keep you waiting. I had a morning meeting and lost track of time.”

“I’m fine,” Amanda leaned against the sofa with a worried expression. “Patrick, how confident are you in my case?”

“What are you referring to? The divorce or the division of property?”

“Isn’t that the same thing?”

“Of course not.” Patrick flipped through the case file. “It’s not a problem for you to divorce Halley, but in terms of assets division, there’s no such thing as the cheating party shall get nothing. The only thing you’ll get is some compensation, but I’ll do my best to fight for you.”

Amanda didn’t want to push things too far. “I just want the half that belongs to me.”Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

“Don’t worry. You’ll be fine with my support.”

“Thank you.”

“You don’t have to be so polite with me.”

Amanda smiled. “That’s true. We’ve known each other for so many years, Patrick.”

Amanda and Patrick were college classmates. Patrick was two years older than her at college, and he was a talented student in the Law Management Department. When Amanda attended a debate club in college, Patrick was the president of that club.

“By the way, let’s have lunch together at noon.”

Patrick had just finished speaking when his phone rang.

Amanda saw the note “Joleen Lewis” on the phone screen. “It seems that someone is looking for you for dinner.”

“No, Amanda, don’t misunderstand. Joleen and I…”

“There’s no need to explain,” Amanda said as he took his bag and gave Patrick a meaningful smile. “Joleen is my best friend. As the saying goes, good things shouldn’t be left to outsiders. I can trust her.”

Patrick wanted to say something more, but Amanda had already said goodbyes. “I’ll be going now. I’ll send you the information later.”

Patrick’s face darkened as he watched Amanda’s silhouette disappear into the distance, and the phone in the office kept ringing.

[At nine o’clock in the evening, I’ll go find you.]

After sending a text message, his phone finally stopped ringing.

Amanda walked out of the SW Law Office and waved at a taxi by the side of the road. “Sir, to Guzzo Hotel.”

The driver’s side profile was reflected in the rearview mirror. He looked young, and his black cap was pressed very low. He was also wearing a mask.

Amanda was slightly stunned when her phone suddenly rang. She looked at the driver suspiciously while pressing the answer button. Without even noticing who it was, she reached out and pressed the lift button on the window. “Sir, please open the window for ventilation.”

“I caught a cold. Sorry for that.”

“Open the back window. It won’t blow you. When you catch a cold, you have to breathe more.”

“Oh, Miss, the air conditioner is still in my car. It will heat up if I open the window this day.”

No matter what Amanda said, the driver wouldn’t open the window.

At this time, a man’s voice came from the other end of the phone. “Where are you?”

Amanda was stunned for a moment. When she answered the phone, she didn’t pay attention to it. It was a call from Iverson.

In the rearview mirror, the face under the cap revealed a pair of sharp eyes with ferocious light.

Amanda shivered and tried her best to suppress her panic. “I just met my lawyer and was about to return to the hotel. The driver caught a cold. He was wearing a mask and was quite considerate of the passengers. Yet it’s summer. He can’t agree to open the window.”

She deliberately spoke as if she was calling someone she knew. “I’ll go back and have a drink of cold-fever-treating infusion and prepare for it. There seem to be a lot of people catching a cold recently.”

“Share your location with me on WhatsApp.”

“Cold medicine? I don’t think there’s some at the hotel. Go downstairs and buy some for me. I’ll be home soon. I’ve just passed ICE Road, Sisson Tower.”

As Amanda shared her location with Iverson, she pretended to be calm. She said something else to lower the driver’s vigilance.

On the other end of the line, Iverson took his car keys and went downstairs.

Their mobile phones were shared. Amanda was about 8 km away from him, in Edimo, and the map showed that she was not moving toward downtown but straight to the suburbs.

“How much battery does your mobile phone still have?”

Iverson’s voice reminded Amanda of something, and in her haste, she glanced at it. “Not much.”

There was only 10% battery left.

“Now, hang up the phone and try to maintain the battery as much as possible.”

“Okay,” Amanda clenched his fists and squeezed out a smile through clenched teeth, “See you later.”

It was already dark outside.

SW Law Office was located on the outskirts of Ducco. At this moment, the chauffeur took her further and further away. They were about to reach the mountains on the outskirts of Ducco.

“Sir, why is the road getting more and more remote? Did you drive it directly?”

“No, you’re not from here, are you? I’m familiar with Ducco. It will be faster following this route. There are traffic jams in the city center. I’ll take you there from the outside.”

Amanda clenched her fists even tighter.

Even though she was an outsider, she had stayed in Ducco for almost ten years. She had never heard anyone saying they could bypass the peak traffic and return to the city center.

As expected, 20 minutes later, the car drove to the mountains in the suburbs of Ducco.

After the bumpy ride, Amanda clutched her phone tightly and asked, “Sir, are you sure we can return to the center of Ducco?”

With braking sounds, the car stopped on a deserted hillside.

The figure in the driver’s seat finally turned around and said, “I’m sorry, I just followed the orders with my commission. Sorry to offend you.”

After that, he got out of the car and dragged Amanda out of the car. He shouted into the forest, “Come out; I’ve brought her here.”
