TWENTY THREE: THE MEETING
TWENTY THREE: THE MEETING
LEYSA'S POV
My Grandpa and Don Rafael are annoying. They are pushing something that is impossible to happen.
I didn’t look back or even take a glance at Frederik Wilford. I don't want to look at him; I don't want to see him actually but damn. He turned out to be the one who is already holding WilCo., I thought it was still Don Rafael Wilford, who is my Grandfather's best friend. I do not know. I have no idea, because I just based on the documents given by my good Grandfather.
It feels like it's all manipulated by them, by both of them, Don Rafael and Don Leonardo. It looks like they are already into it, from the very beginning - as if at first, they are already planting something to grow and be used in the future.
It was as if they already knew everything. You know that, they know some secrets but we don't know, that’s why it's called as a secret, Leysa. I'm really going crazy, right now. And look at them, they are so psychotic, after Grandpa said about the annulment and such, they just laughed together. As if just by looking at each other, there are conversations going on between them. "What's up Grandpa, are we here for the business or those useless things?" I couldn't stand it anymore, so I really spoke up that made them arranged their posture, and they are now acting like a scary and manipulative businessmen.
I still don't look at Frederik, but I know he was looking at me since earlier; he was just silent in his position. I thought the two adults would take it now seriously. But no, they are like children I do not know if they are lacking in their right ages.
"Fine. How about let's talk somewhere else, comrade?" Don Rafael said and invited Grandpa, who just nodded in response.
"All right then. Let's leave it to them about dealing our business, anyway, they are already the onse handling it," Don Rafael just responded, that made me sighed.
"So, you know what to do, Frederik. I already told you what I want to happen. Just discuss it together with this ex-fiancée of yours." The old Wilford said to his grandson with a laugh. What the? Seriously, I also don’t know the arrangements they say. But of course I'm not stupid, not to get that, but I'm just wondering why Don Rafael didn't mention about the past, our family faced, me being his grandson’s mistress. But then, that's good too, for everyone to move on.
"Psh. As much as you know, Boss..." was the only response from young Wilford, who was laughed at again by the old man.
"I really know a lot, young man… you don't know that I know. Just move quickly, and you might be left behind."
Meaningful release of his statement again, and turned around with Grandpa. But before Grandpa could finally get out, he poked me at my shoulder, he tapped it like saying something, hays, I'll just talk to him later, after this meeting. I have so many questions that he needs to be answered.
When we were the only ones left in his large office, I was suddenly felt worried, as if something would happen again that should not happen. Shit!
No one dared to speak first. But he stood up and sits in the chair in front of me. We are now facing each other, so I have no choice but to look at him as well.
Damn! Why is that, he still looks handsome over time? But there was a trace of tiredness on his face, plus he did not even smile.
"So, I have some things I want to ask, but I know my limit. I have no rights to question you. So let's proceed to the business deal that we should have been talking about earlier if not just because of
the nonsense talks of the elders, sorry for the term." He said that I just nodded in agreement. It's good, because I have no desire to share with him my life, and how I became the grandson of a wealthy and well-known businessman, psh. I knew earlier that he wanted to ask that question, first and foremost. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
"Yeah. I agree with you on the term nonsense talks, you just like your Grandfather," I said suddenly. Shit! What am I saying, damn you, Leysa!
He looked at me sharply... and smiled.
"Do you want to know how jerk I am, Leysa... Guevara?" he said and he got up from his seat and stepped closer to me ... until he was just standing in front of me.
I just looked up at him; I don’t want to lose in his stares.
"No thanks. I already know that, so I don't have to be reminded again and again how jerk you are. So can we proceed to the main deal now, Mr. Wilford?" I replied formally and he smiled and went back to his seat.
We talked all morning about the project that WilCo will do together with GUEST., most of the time we argue... especially if I have something to say about our past. Gosh. Sorry I can't help it, I'm getting bored. I just don't expect this confrontation to happen right away.
I know, we had a chance to meet, but it was too early, and in a place I had not expected.
We were about to finish our meeting when he suddenly spoke up,
"Why so formal to me, Ms. Guevara? You can call me brother-in-law if you want, anyway, you are still my dearest beloved sister-in-law."
I stopped stacking documents because of what he just said. I looked at him. Seriously?
"I am no longer your sister-in-law. So I can call you different names that I want like, Ahhh. Ugh. Baby." I teased him especially my last words I am blinking, feeling the sensation while saying those words. So I can't stop laughing --what... we are done talking about the business. So I can tease him now. I could even see him squeezing his fist. What! He is mad at me now? Because I'm already answering him, whatever!
I got up because I had no plans to stay here any longer, and to be with him in one place. I would suffocate any minute… I need air, fresh air to be exact.
So I turned around and walked out, but before I could get out of his office he grabbed my left arm so he was able to lean me against the nearby wall. He pinned me, he made sure I could not just leave in his hold.
I looked at him without fear, who was also staring at me.
"What happened, Leysa?" He suddenly asked, as he looked around my face. Like examining it, if anything has changed, or what has changed in me.
"Why do you care?" I replied and I pushed him softly, which was good and he did not resist the force so I immediately left his grasp. And I took that chance to get out of his office and get home.
I still have a lot to ask my good Grandfather, who I know is already at home. Because I know he already misses his great grandchildren.
