Chapter 3 What’s Your Relationship With My Wife?
“Mr. Friedan, aren’t you leaving?”
Someone gently tapped Waldron.
Waldron had no response. But in the dark, his hands kept trembling.
Claudia noticed someone had been staring at her the whole time.
The man had elongated eyebrows and narrow, fervent eyes. His face was impeccably handsome, yet the curve of his lips formed a mischievous smile, giving him an air of arrogance and flamboyance.
His probing, excited gaze made Claudia very uncomfortable.
There were fewer and fewer people left in the room. He sat there motionless, seeming not wanting to leave at all.
Claudia didn’t wait any longer. She handed the contract over to Edmond.
“I don’t want anything. Just sign on the original contract.”
During their three-year marriage, Edmond might have had issues with Claudia, but at the very least, he hadn’t been unfaithful.
Seeing him openly appearing with Rosalie these past few days, she decided it was time to put the divorce on the agenda.
Edmond casually glanced over the contract and sneered, “Is that man really so important?”
So important that she would force him to let her go in front of so many
neonla?

Claudia lightly bit her lip, knowing Edmond had misunderstood.
But so what if he misunderstood or not? They would inevitably go their separate ways in the end.
As he saw Claudia looking down silently, irritation rose in Edmond’s heart.
He wanted to ask who that man was but felt now wasn’t the right time.
The atmosphere grew increasingly oppressive, weighing down his chest.
Edmond impatiently tugged at his tie, rasping out a word.
“Pen.”
Seeing Claudia standing there motionless, Edmond slowly raised his head and said, “Didn’t you want me to sign it?”
Claudia let out an “oh” and hurriedly took a pen from her bag, and handed it to him, hesitating slightly as she did so.
Edmond didn’t even lift his head. He signed his name and then handed the pen back to her.
Taking the heavy contract, Claudia forcibly suppressed the distress in her heart.
She had already accomplished her goal, yet her heart still felt empty.
“Now that the contract is signed, shouldn’t you go to the courthouse for the divorce certificate next?” Rosalie suddenly reminded.
Claudia looked towards Rosalie. Seeing her wide-eyed, innocent expression, Claudia thought of the disappearance of the caregiver.

On the day she interrogated Rosalie, the caregiver had resigned and never been seen again. Eleanor’s death had become a mystery.
Seeing Claudia glaring viciously at her, Rosalie nervously retreated several steps back.
Edmond saw Claudia’s hatred and understood she was thinking of her grandmother again.
“Claudia, how many times do I need to say it? Rosalie did not harm your grandmother.”
Rosalie did not harm Eleanor.
Edmond was determined to show blatant favoritism towards Rosalie.
Claudia looked at Edmond forlornly, her voice h oa rse. “Edmond, you know my grandmother was my only family…”
Claudia had been abandoned at a young age and left as an orphan. If it weren’t for Eleanor, she might have frozen to death on the streets years
ago.
Eleanor had showered her with all the love she had. She was the sole reason for Claudia to keep going.
Not only had she failed to serve and care for Eleanor, but Eleanor had died inexplicably…
Claudia looked up, trying hard to keep her tears from falling.
“I know,” Edmond pursed his lips. “I arranged for her to go to the hospital. But she and Eleanor had no enmity or grudge. There’s no reason for her to have harmed Eleanor.”
Claudia gave a mirthless laugh. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

“I don’t know if she had a reason or not, but the caregiver said she and my grandmother had an argument that day.”
If Rosalie really treated Eleanor well, how could they have ended up arguing?
Eleanor had a good temperament. She had lived harmoniously with the neighbors for many years without any conflicts. Even when burdened by illness, she could still argue with Rosalie. Rosalie must have said something to provoke her.
As she thought Eleanor had died out of anger, Claudia’s hatred towards Rosalie was endless.
Rosalie was the only one who had gone to see Eleanor that day. Eleanor’s cerebral hemorrhage couldn’t have come out of nowhere.
“Since you believe her so much, see you in court. I’ll find evidence.”
Claudia glanced indifferently at Rosalie.
Feeling too fatigued to stay any longer, she turned and hurriedly left. However, perhaps due to the exhaustion she had been experiencing in the past few days, her vision momentarily went black when she
reached the door. Just as she was about to collapse, a hand reached out to support her.
Collecting herself, Claudia regained her composure and looked up with gratitude. It was the man who had been staring at her.
“Thank you.”
Seeing her up close, Waldron became even more certain of his speculation.
The first time he saw Claudia, he had already been incredibly shocked.

The woman before him resembled his aunt, Tania Friedan, far too much.
He was told that his missing sister bore a strong resemblance to Tania.
Such traits could be inherited across generations, and it wasn’t uncommon for nieces to resemble their aunts.
This person before him might very well be his long-lost sister.
As Waldron’s grip on Claudia’s arm grew tighter and tighter, Claudia frowned and calmly pulled free, then left.
“Hey, wait!”
Waldron was about to chase after Claudia when Rosalie stopped him.
“Mr. Friedan, you’ve taken a liking to her?” Rosalie blinked her big eyes and joked, “She comes from poor circumstances. I doubt she can even step inside your family’s door.”
Everyone knew Thomas Friedan had already set strict criteria for his future daughters-in-law. An impeccable lineage and top-notch education were considered essential.
No one found their requirements to be excessive, as the Friedan family had the resources to be selective.
“Poor circumstances?” Waldron raised his brows, seeming deep in thought.
If this woman really was his sister, she surely hadn’t lived too well all these years.
Edmond had kept their marriage so well hidden that even Waldron wasn’t aware of it. This indicated that the Lamont family had never truly regarded Claudia with seriousness from the beginning.

“That’s right. She was picked up by her grandma, Eleanor. Even her parents are unknown.”
These words made Waldron’s expression strange.
Rosalie continued fanning the flames, “Your family definitely wouldn’t like a woman like this, right?”
Her words were full of ridicule towards Claudia’s background.
Seeing Edmond walking over and recalling how angry Claudia had been when she left earlier, Waldron couldn’t help feeling indignant for her.
If his missing sister had been adopted by someone, she would have been mocked this way too!
Waldron lazily leaned against the doorframe and glanced sla ntwise at Rosalie. “She got in the Lamont family, so why couldn’t she get in my family?”
Rosalie looked awkwardly at Edmond.
Edmond walked over.
“You’ve been watching the show for so long. Why the rush to leave? Why not sit down for a cup of coffee?”
Waldron somewhat regretted confronting Edmond. Right now, he just wanted to immediately look up information on Claudia
She resembled Tania so much and coincidentally happened to be adopted. When one coincidence overlapped with another, it might not be mere chance anymore.
“Edmond, I have urgent business. We’ll talk next time.”

Without even looking at Edmond, Waldron wanted to leave quickly, but Edmond blocked his way first.
Edmond’s gaze was deep.
Ever since Claudia entered, Waldron’s eyes hadn’t left her.
Although Waldron was arrogant, he still had tact. There was no reason he truly wanted to stay and watch the drama unfold.
Claudia had asked him for divorce, giving the reason that she had found her own lover.
Could that person be Waldron?
Edmond’s expression gradually turned cold.
“What is your relationship with my wife, Mr. Friedan?”
