Chapter 3137
Chapter 3137
Nathan and the others got out of the car and examined the bodies lying on the ground.
Sure enough, most of them were dressed in Eurasian military uniforms.
The soldiers that were sent here had all been killed in battle.
There was an unmistakable look of sadness and anger in Nathan's eyes as he said, "Colin, I want you to go and gather the bodies of our fallen comrades."
"Roger!" Colin and the others replied in unison.
Hepburn ordered the Holy Knights as well, "Don't just stand there, you guys. Go and help them gather the bodies of the fallen Eurasian soldiers!"
"But tons of other people have died here as well! Why should the Eurasians get to gather their dead?" Brenton protested with a displeased look on his face.
Those words had barely left his mouth when Colin and the others shot him vicious glares in response.
Even Nathan slowly turned around and glared coldly at him.
Brenton shuddered when he saw the exceptionally cold look in Nathan's eyes.
Hepburn, too, couldn't help but reprimand him, “What are you saying, Brenton? The blood virus outbreak allowed the vampires to launch an all-out attack on us. Countless areas in Adrune have fallen as a result of the vampire attacks, and many Adrunians are currently in the fight for their lives. These soldiers from Eurasia left the safety of their country and came all the way here to help maintain peace and protect humanity. Now that they have been slain in battle, the least we can do is help gather their bodies to honor their sacrifices."
Brenton fell silent after hearing that.
Nathan and Hepburn then continued ordering their subordinates to gather the bodies of the fallen soldiers.
As the Eurasian soldiers were all dressed in their military uniform and wore identification tags around their necks, so it was easy to spot and identify them.
It wasn't long before all of the bodies were gathered neatly in one place.
Nathan's men then retrieved the identification tags from the bodies and handed them over to him. From NôvelDrama.Org.
Colin's eyes were filled with pain as he presented Nathan with a bloodied identification tag. "Chief Cross, we found Colonel Taggart's body as well. This is his identification tag."
Colin and the others had three ways of addressing Nathan-"President Cross" in public settings, "Mr. Cross" in private settings, and "Chief Cross" when in the barracks or on missions.
The identification tag had Hanson's name and service number printed on both sides.
"Chief Cross, we've gathered all the
bodies of our fallen comrades, but there are far too many of them. Given our current condition, it'll be difficult for us to transport them back Myron said as he made his way over.
"Have them cremated. We'll bring their ashes back and place them in the war grave. They shall be remembered and honored by our people for their bravery and
sacrifices. Their identificati

respective families," Nathan replied solemnly.
"Understood!” Myron and the others responded in unison.
Soon, the bodies of all two thousand fallen soldiers were gathered in a pile to be cremated.
Colin grabbed the few remaining bottles of alcohol from the vehicles.
Those were actually issued to the soldiers to help keep them warm in icy-cold weather.
Colin then poured the alcohol on the bodies and lit the fire.
"Colonel Taggart and all my fellow comrades, Chief Cross is here to send you all off!" he shouted with a pained expression as the flames illuminated his face.
Nobody knew if what happened next was a mere coincidence, but the dark and stormy sky seemed to clear up immediately after Colin said that. Even the crows that were cawing in the distant trees flew away at the same time.
Colin then turned around and told Nathan, “The strong winds have stopped, and the crows have flown away. Our comrades can finally rest in peace, Chief Cross."
Nathan nodded. "Yes, you're right. However, there are some b*stards that need killing."
