Chapter 708 Loving You in a Different Way
The old Mrs. Lawson was waiting for Sophia to explain, but she remained silent. After a while, The old
Mrs. Lawson said, "Cathy, stand up."
"No, I won't stand up, Grandma. If I go to jail again, who knows when I'll die in there."
The old Mrs. Lawson became angry and said sternly, "Enough, Cathy! Do you think you haven't caused
enough trouble? If it weren't for your mistake, Sophia wouldn't have done this."
Cathy was dumbfounded and stared at the old Mrs. Lawson for a long time without reacting. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Impatiently the old Mrs. Lawson asked Drake,"You tell us what happened?"
It was clear that the old Mrs. Lawson believed Sophia and let Drake speak because no one dared
interrupt him.
Drake briefly explained what had happened before everyone looked at Cathy in shock.
Cathy had never felt so many terrifying eyes on her before; she couldn't even breathe properly under
the pressure.
"Slap!" A slap landed on her face.
Cathy looked incredulously at the old Mrs. Lawson as she held the spot where she'd been hit and
asked,"Grandma, why did you hit me?"
"Why? Don't you know?"
Cathy had never seen such a scary side of the old Mrs. Lawson before; it seemed like she wanted to
eat her alive!
"Sophia is your cousin! Although you don't share the same parents your surnames are both Lawson;
your father is from the same family as hers! Your relationship with each other is no different from sisters
by blood but look at what have you done!"
"You teamed up with others to kidnap her just to get money out of her! And not only that but also tried
to kill her too! If it weren't for her vigilance, she would have died then!"
Although Cathy seemed dissatisfied. Yet when noticing the old Mrs. Lawson's expression, she didn't
dare say anything more.
The old Mrs. Lawson closed her eyes; obviously unable to accept this kind of thing.
After some time passed, she opened them again and said, "Although my heart hurts, I cannot allow
someone who has committed such an outrageous act like yours. This time around, you've done
something so terrible. Next time, you might kill or dismember Sophia. I absolutely cannot allow such
things happen. So, you should turn yourself into the police!"
Cathy shook her head in fear. "No, Grandma, I don't want to. I would rather die."
The old Mrs. Lawson became angrier. "What do you mean by 'rather die'? When you were thinking
about letting your cousin die, did you think about this?"
"I..."
Cathy suddenly didn't know what to say.
"Now I'll give you two options: either I take you to the police station myself or you go there on your own.
You have only a few minutes to decide."
It was clear that the old Mrs. Lawson made such a decision with difficulty, but she couldn't indulge
Cathy like before.
Cathy bit her lip tightly and lowered her head; everyone could feel her reluctance.
Drake instinctively stood next to Sophia, afraid that Cathy might do something again.
Similarly, Abbott stood next to Laura and Baron instinctively stood next to Emma.
Emma looked at Baron strangely and he explained with his eyes; he was worried too.
Emma really didn't know what he had to worry about.
Suddenly Cathy grabbed a fruit knife from the coffee table and backed away with it against her neck
while looking at them fiercely with hatred in her eyes.
"Grandma, now you don't love me anymore. I'm so disappointed in you. Sophia is just being a little nice
to you, yet you forget I'm you favorite granddaughter. Since whatever I do is wrong in your eyes, I
would rather kill myself!"
"Since you insist on making me turn myself into the police station, then it's better if I just die here right
now! You dislike me so much anyway!"
The old Mrs. Lawson trembled all over with anger, "Cathy, I know I was wrong, but why haven't realized
your mistakes yet?"
"Fine! If that's what you want, you should kill me now. I shouldn't have indulged you so much. Or you
wouldn't have become so reckless and made so many mistakes."
"Just kill me!"
Saying this, the old Mrs. Lawson got up from where she sat earlier.
Laura and Sophia were both concerned as they watched on.
The the old Mrs. Lawson stretched her a hand, "Don't come any closer. This matter can be resolved by
me!"
Cathy looked at the old Mrs. Lawson walking forward steadily while blinking rapidly, "You… Don't come
any closer!"
"You don't have to kill yourself to threaten me. It's my fault, and I will take responsibility for everything."
The old Mrs. Lawson kept walking forward.
As she was about to approach Cathy, Cathy shouted, "Grandmother, do you really think I dare not kill
you?"
"If killing me can make you repent, then go ahead!"
Cathy kept retreating, her heart filled with struggle.
The resentment towards the old Mrs. Lawson, jealousy towards Sophia, and the injustice she suffered
were surging through her.
The old Mrs. Lawson pointed to her own heart, "That's it! Hurry up and stab me! If I die, you will be
relieved!"
Cathy bit her lip tightly.
She seemed to have lost her mind, and everyone was watching her nervously, afraid that she would
really stab the old Mrs. Lawson.
But now, no one dared to persuade the old Mrs. Lawson, let alone go forward, because every word
they said would anger Cathy.
Suddenly, Cathy couldn't bear it and shouted loudly, "Grandma, don't come over, I will really kill you!"
"Fine, I have lived for so many years and haven't taken good care of you. Now I have no way to explain
to your grandfather. If you kill me, then I will have a way!"
"Ah--" Cathy closed her eyes and rushed towards the old Mrs. Lawson with a knife.
Drake and Abbott tried to take the knife away from her, but their speed was not as fast as Charles,
Edwin, and Bard.
The three of them worked together to hold Cathy down and snatch the knife from her hand. Cathy
desperately shouted, seeming very dissatisfied with everything.
The old Mrs. Lawson walked up to her and hugged her, saying, "Cathy, I understand your
dissatisfaction. Listen, I do love you, but in a different, correct way."
"I have enough money to support both of us for the rest of our lives, Cathy. Will you come with me?"
The old Mrs. Lawson asked sadly.
Cathy stopped struggling and looked at her.
"I can beg Sophia for mercy. As long as she didn't call the cop, we can leave here and never show our
faces to her."
