Chapter 21: Beating A Woman
Chapter 21: Beating A Woman
"You, you have no morals!" Alfred glared at Lauren who acted innocent in front of him and coldly rebuked.
"Mr. Kent, don't use morality as an excuse for your failure!" Lauren said unkindly to Alfred, who was slightly depressed.
Alfred, who was refuted, looked at the arrogant woman in front of him and was annoyed by his abrupt manners just now. Frowning, he swept Lauren as if thinking of something. Then he suddenly walked up to Lauren, leaned against her ear, and whispered a few words.
"Shameless!" Lauren flushed instantly, staring at Alfred.
"Why? Ms. Jones just said that morality couldn't be used as an excuse. If so, we don't have to act morally. Ms. Jones has such an enchanting face. Isn't it wasteful not to use it?" Alfred alluded to Lauren using her beauty to hook up business partners so as to steal his business by improper means. As expected, Lauren turned gloomy. Alfred was in a good mood, for he was able to gain the upper hand for once.
"This time, it is just a small project, and there will be more opportunities in the future. Ms. Jones has to grab it!" Alfred continued to shame her since he finally got the chance to anger her.
Alfred just made up randomly to provoke Lauren. He didn't actually mean it, but Lauren took it personally. Now Lauren was most proud of everything she had achieved through hard work. Unexpectedly, in the eyes of Alfred, she was still a woman betraying herself for profit.
She was overcome with humiliation at the moment, "Alfred, don't you want to know how I got your
company's secrets?"
Hearing that, Alfred, who had already turned around and was about to leave, suddenly stepped back.
"What do you want to say?" Alfred strode to Lauren, glaring at her. He originally suspected that someone from his company had been bought by this woman and was about to go back to find out the traitor. Now it seemed that this woman was going to have a head-on confrontation.
Why this woman was so strange that she always went against him? if it weren't for having never dealt with her before, he would suspect that there was a long-running feud between them.
Lauren laughed at Alfred's performance in her heart, really looking forward to his reaction when she exposed the traitor.
"The person close to you betrayed you. As for who it is..." Lauren paused deliberately.
"Why don't you keep talking?" Alfred sneered. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Lauren curved her lips, "I'm afraid Mr. Kent can't bear it if I say it out loud. Before that, you might as well guess who that person is. Kindly remind. That person is the woman who is close to you the most." Lauren smiled and waited for Alfred's reaction.
Alfred suddenly sneered, "I thought you had inquired about my family affairs clearly. You need to have a basis for making up the story. My wife was dead in an accident long ago. Did you stop her and trade with her in Heaven?" This woman was absolutely making a trick, but unfortunately, she used it on the wrong person.
Hearing that the person Alfred had admitted the closest to him was herself, Lauren was shocked for a moment. If it hadn't been for the joint injury that Alfred and Carrie had done to her when she was still Mrs. Kent, she would be so moved.
"I'm not talking about your closest wife in name, but Carrie Green you have always kept in your heart. No matter what she did, you would always forgive her!" Lauren almost roared out Carrie's name.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Since you can't separate me and Lauren, you're going to alienate me and Carrie? Shame on you." Alfred didn't care about the gentleman's temperament anymore and screamed at her with a solemn face.
Lauren thought to herself, "Alfred, at this point, you're still protecting Carrie Green! You didn’t even notice that Carrie framed me with such lame tricks before. And now you think you are being rational?"
"Alfred, let me tell you. It was Carrie who sold me your financial report!" Lauren said harshly.
"Shut up!" Alfred was furious, stormed forward, grabbed Lauren by the neck, and pushed her against the corner.
"I'm telling you, I hate that someone plays tricks with people I care about," Alfred whispered with red eyes. Although he only heard Carrie conspiring with others to seize his property, he never believed that Carrie would betray him for a little profit.
Lauren was so painful being pinched by Alfred. What made her feel so hurtful was Alfred's attitude to defending Carrie. When Carrie framed her, Alfred blamed it on her without even giving her a chance to argue.
"Alfred, you're only capable of hitting women!" Lauren said struggling. It was as if a fire burning in her eyes.
Lauren's face went red. There was no one here, so even if she was killed, no one would find out. Alfred inadvertently tightened his grip while Lauren's eyes became increasingly hostile. Alfred was at a loss for a moment as if seeing Lauren's hateful eyes after the abortion.
