Chapter 45
I almost peed my pants on hearing Alpha Leo's voice.
He warned me about ever seeing me in his palace again after I picked up what I wanted to. If he caught me here, I knew I would be dead meat and the only person that would be able to save me was Kita, but she was not near. I looked up, said a small prayer to the moon goddess as Alpha Leo's footsteps increased. Alpha
Leo," I heard someone call out.
I froze, anticipating what was going to happen next.
Luckily for me, Alpha Leo moved away from me and I heaved a sigh of relief.
I peeked into the hall to see who my savior was.
It was Beta Darius, the Golden wolf of the pack and one of the few wolves who hasn't stuck his rod in me.
Yet.
Alpha Leo was my favorite, but Beta Darius still struck my fancy. He was pleasing to the eye.
"Alpha Leo, I have made plans on how to run the pack during your two weeks honeymoon with the Luna." frowned. Honeymoon?Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

I was not going to let that happen.
Beta Darius handed over a few papers to the Alpha and I watched him scan through. "This is not bad, but there's still room for improvement. I'll study your plan properly and get back to you. What about the preparations for our journey." "Oh, yes, I almost forgot. The fashion designer from Moonstone Pack is here to see the Luna. I saw her on my way here." I clenched my fists.
Moonstone Pack was popular for having the best designers. I should be the one seeing a fashion designer from there, not Rita.
I had to stop Alpha Leo from leaving with Rita. When the coast was clear, I brought out my phone and sent a message to the pack's car mechanic.
A night with him was more than enough.

"Come in," I replied to the soft knock on the door and the door swung open.
A maid walked in and genuflected. "Luna Rita, your fashion designer is here to see you."
"What fashion designer?" I asked, confused.
"I don't know. I was only told to call you to meet her."
Without asking further questions, I followed her downstairs to meet the fashion designer.
Mon,
I saw Beta Darius with she wolf who I figured was the fashion designer.
Her clothes were expressive and comfortable. I could tell she was good at her craft. Her smile made me feel more comfortable with her too. She was beautiful too. Extremely and she looked like she was of noble blood. Beta Darius introduced the both of us and after exchanging greetings, she started her job.
She showed me a few sketches and I made a pick. Then I stood up so she could take my measurements. I missed a step, and was about to trip, but Beta Darius rushed to me and held me before I fell.
At that exact moment, Leo walked into the room. When he saw Darius's hands around my waist, he grunted and stormed
over to us.
"Get your hands off her," He growled and pulled me away from Darius to himself.
"I almost tripped, but he caught me," I said, frowning but he pulled me closer to himself and glared at his Beta without having what I was saying. The fashion designer let out a soft chuckle. "Alpha Leo, she is telling the truth. I saw what happened. Your Beta only stopped her from falling." He still held to me.

it dawned on me, it was not completely about Beta.
Then it Well,
But,
!
it was mostly the reason. If f glares could kill, Darius would have been dead by now because of how hard Leo was glaring at his Beta. from the way he held me tightly, I could tell he missed me.
I immediately forgot about my plan to ignore him and I wrapped my arms around his neck. Our eyes locked and I flashed him a small smile. He smiled back and slowly let go of me.
He threw another hard glare at Darius' direction before sitting at a couch directly opposite mine.
Soon, the fashion designer finished with me and she went over to Leo to show him some designs and take his measurements.
I understood how Leo felt when he saw Darius' hand around my waste immediately. Watching another she-wolf going too close to my Alpha p***sed me off a little even when I knew that nothing was happening. Darius walked over to me and I chuckled lightly when I saw Alpha Leo frown.
I decided to take the opportunity to ask Darius of Janice. "I know I shouldn't be asking you this, but do you know where my best friend is?"
Darius smiled. "She told me you two weren't talking, but refused to tell why. She still told me to take care of you though. Don't worry. She's safe. She visited her parents and the network over there isn't very stable." Yes that was true. Why didn't that cross my mind? I heaved a sigh of relief. "Oh, that's relieving. Thank you."
I smiled at Janice's request to Darius for him to take care of me.
It's good to know that she still cared.
"And, don't tell her I told you about her telling me to take care of you." He chuckled and added. "She will kill me."
I laughed. "I know."
We looked at Leo. We could tell he was boiling with anger, but we still continued talking.
"Aren't you scared?" I asked playfully.
Darius shrugged. "You're here. Nothing can happen to me. You're the calming water that quenches his flames. That is how he describes you."
"He talks about me?"
Darius chuckled. "Yes, he does. All the time. Jr talks about you more than he talks about..." His voice trailed off.
I knew who he wanted to call, so I nodded.
"Do you know what is behind the green door that is always heavily guarded?"
Darius was taken aback by my question but he still proceeded to answer. "He refused to let you in, right?"
I nodded. "I heard it's given access only to people who are very close to him."
"That's a big lie," Darius scoffed. "Alpha Leo loves you and that's why he would rather die than let you go into that room."
I raised an eyebrow. "And why is that?"
"He believes that whatever killed Ama is in that room. He is only trying to protect you.
"He mus t have really loved her." He must h

nodded.
"Then why did he replace her with me?"
Again, Darius was taken aback. "Nobody is replacing anybody. If you were Ama, I'm sure you'd be happy to see your mate falling in love again after losing you." "What if Ama had not died?"
Darius shrugged. "Then you and the Alpha would have had a different fate." He looked at me and then at Leo. "I just hope the both of you can put your pasts behind your backs and plan a beautiful future together." "I hope so too," I said and I meant it.
