At the Wright Group, in the CEO's office. Harry was standing in front of the large floor-to-ceiling winslow, overlooking the view outside when a loud kick at the door interrupted his thoughts,
Asher walked in, clearly annoyed vening as he made his way in. "What were you even doing last night? The bar was a complete mess, and your precious Arya wouldn't stop crying in front of me. It almost drove me muts. If she wasn't your girl. I would've left her there and Tin really curious how you put up with Arya. I've never seen anyone cry more than her Asher shivered at the thought. "Seriously, with her around me. I wonder how many times a day she'd end up crying because of me?
After Harry had left Arya with Asher last night, he had been busy looking for Julia. Arya had called many times, but he didn't pick up, thinking Asher had already taken her home.
Seeing him silent, Asher couldn't help but continue, "Next time, you better take care of your own wornan. I'm not doing that again; too much of a hassle. I've dated a lot of women but never encountered one like Arya."
No matter what he said, Arya was immersed in her sorrow. Even when Asher spoke himself hoarse, she just acted like he was spouting nonsense.
Asher later thought that Arya might have stopped crying if Harry had been there instead. So, it was because he wasn't her person that made things so difficult for him.
"When did you guys end up going home?" Harry asked.
"Don't know. My job was just to get her home. But you haven't contacted Arya till now, have you?" Asher was curious, still unaware of Julia's disappearance last night. He looked seriously at Harry. "What was so important that you left Arya to deal with?" "When we were in Stredport City, you dashed home just because Arya had a slight cold. Last night, you dumped her on me, huh? Asher thought.
Julia was taken away last night," Harry said.
The mention made Asher link back to the chaos at the bar last night, although he hadn't paid much attention as his focus was on getting Arya home. He hadn't connected the dots to Harry and Julia.
Harry briefly recounted the previous night's events. After listening, Asher suddenly asked. "Since when did Julia become so important that you'd Seave Arya!"
Harry turned, giving Asher a blank look at his blatantly nosy expression. After a long silence, he heard Asher say, cheerfully, "Are you unknowingly in love with Julia' Otherwise, why leave Arya for her? That's not like you."
Asher settled onto the sofa, not really expecting an answer, just watching Harry with an amused look, which annoyed Harry Julia is my wife. Shouldn't I go looking for her if she disappears?"
Asher clicked his tongue, unconvinced by Harry's reasoning. Just because she's your wife! Or is it something more?
"Believe it or not, Harry retorted.
"Well, do you even believe that?" Asher crossed his legs. "Personally, I think Julia is way better than Arya."
Harry's expression instantly sharpened when he heard Asher praising Julia. He felt as if Asher was about to steal Julia from him.
Harry's look puzzled Asher. "Don't look at me like that. Anyone would think I've stolen your wife. After a pause, Asher added nonchalantly. "Anyway, you're just in a contract marriage with Julia. If you guys end up divorcing..." Before Asher could finish, Harry responded without hesitation. "We're not going to divorce"
His firm response caught Asher off guard. After a moment, Harry realized his statement was too definitive, given that their marriage was indeed contractualThis content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
Asher chuckled. I was just joking. Why so serious?"
Watching Harry's reaction. Asher speculated that Harry had developed feelings for Julia without realizing it. He was about to offer some friendly advice when he heard Harry say, "What you said is right, but there's no way I'm falling for Julia" Sometimes, Asher couldn't figure out what was going on in Harry's head. If he doesn't like Julia, why is he so concerned about her and her well-being? Asher wondered. This is not like Harry; he never cares about someone unrelated to his interests. er smiled. "It's your life, so say what you will. But honestly, Julia is way better than Arya."
*****After waking up at the hotel, Julia was taken home by Harry. She went straight to soak in a bath, trying to wash off the strange and foul smell clinging to her body, but her mind couldn't shake the images from the previous night. Chapter 38
That ugly face had been so close to her that
down her spine every time she thought about the
errifying than any nightmare. The man's lewd arms and his creepy laugh sent shivers
Soaking in the bathtub, jydia racked her besin about what happened after Harry arrived, but no matter how hard she tried, she could only remember bits and pieces. She distinctly remembered being left in the tub by Harry
Then, a memory flashed through her mind. She seemed to have touched Harry, clung to him, and even tried to take off his clothes....
Julia touched her cheeks, which were burning hot. She looked up at the tightly shut window and figured she hadn't opened it, making the bathroom stuffy
After opening the window and waiting for a bit, her cheeks were still hot. She scooped water and kept slapping it on her face, but beyond the heat on her face, her heart was racing. The image of her touching Harry wouldn't leave her mind, her heartheat speeding up every Oh my gosh, what did I do to Harry last night! No wonder he's been keeping his distance today. Is he worried I'll do something like that again? she thought
Frustrated, Julia splashed the water, and some splashed into her eyes. As she rubbed her eyes, she tried not to think about last night's events. 'T wasn't aware of what I was doing. Harry will understand; she told herself
Suddenly, Julia's phone rang, startling her. It was Harry calling.
Feeling guilty, Julia hesitated to answer. She had been calm facing Harry that morning because she hadn't remembered what happened, but now, just the thought of it robbed her of her composure. Even hearing his voice would make her heart race. The ringing phone felt like a hot potato, and Julia wanted to toss it into the water.
