Chapter 35 Get Retaliated
Chapter 35 Get Retaliated
Carina was really scared at this time.
Every time she was pressed into the water by Beth and forced to swallow some river water, the feelings
of suffocation made her desperate and scared.
“Help...”
Only then opened her mouth, and the muddy pool water poured in again.
She coughed violently, “Beth, you let me go!”
Carina wanted to hack Beth, this bitch, to pieces.
Beth was not afraid at all, locking her arms in hers, “Go back and tell Kathy, I would never let this go by
unsettled!”
“You like being her simp, I’ll help you to fulfill your wishes.”
After saying that, Beth dragged Carina, who was scared to death, into the water again.
“You…you're crazy!” Carina shouted with incomplete sentences.
“I am telling you, I'm not a pushover!”
After the warning, Beth pretended to take Carina, who was out of breath and was close to a coma, to
swim towards the shore.
Once on the shore, the surrounding staff rushed to gather around.
“Bath towels!”
“Come on, Carina, how are you?”
“Hot water, hurry up.”
“My goodness.”
The staff was surrounded while Carina curled up on the ground, shivering.
She just got a kick out of a near-death experience. Beth was also thoroughly wet, but in a better
condition than her.
Knowing that Carina now would hate her till she dies, Beth still deliberately went over to her and said,
“Carina, are you all right? How are you? The water is cold and stinks.”
Carina held the bath towel with one hand and plucked off the water plants tangled in her hair with the
other, which spelled death.
“I'm fine. I…” Carina was hit the roof, but still had to pretend to be thankful, “I really appreciate what
you have done before.”
Beth shook her head and said modestly, “I really admire you for your dedication. You really don’t need
to thank me. Actually, it is nothing. You are so generous.”
Others thought Beth was really humble and expressed their appreciation to her.
Carina almost blew her top when she saw what was going on here. ‘You bitch thought I didn’t know
what that meant? It clearly meant that drink more water, which you really don’t need to say thank you.
This was clearly sarcastic.’
If there were not so many people around, Carina was so mad that she wanted to slap her a few times.
Beth took the measure of Carina’s foot, knowing that she wanted to be respected so much that she
would never expose this lie. On the contrary, she would pretend to be kind and generous to maintain
her public persona.
She knew her too well to do this.
Carina had to swallow this bitter pill in silence in order to run her public persona to gain respect, which
made Beth so happy.
Director Tom said, “Carina, go back to have some rest today. Be careful not to take cold.”
If the progress of the shooting was delayed, how much would be costed, which made Tom really
anxious since he needed to cherish the savings?
Carina nodded away.
She turned to look back repeatedly at every step, shooting daggers at Beth. It looked like she was
going to kill her.
After Carina left, the crew was quiet.
Although Beth was not feeling very well, she still did an audition and actually she did very well.
The director Tom decided to use her, “although the acting skills are still immature, this is not an
important role, I will teach you then.”
“Introduced by Mark, you did a great job.”
“Thank you, director Tom, I will definitely try my best to shoot this series.”
“Go back and step into your character as soon as possible. I will let you know when we start the act.”
Tom went to see the camera after he said it.
Beth was so happy that she finally had a job! In a few days, she would be able to shoot this scene, and
then she would be paid for it.
A weight had just been lifted off Beth’s shoulders when Jacky’s medical expenses had been settled.
She went outside the studios to take the bus to go home. She felt dizzy and felt like she had a cold,
probably because she had been in the water too long today.
When she was on the bus, she was so cold that her teeth chattered.
It was hard to hold on until she got back to Pearly Villa. It was already dark before she opened the Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
door, which was at her limit. Her feet felt like jelly so that she fell to the ground with a bump.
The burning pain brought her consciousness back, but she could barely get up and could only tremble
to touch the phone in her bag.
She wanted to call Mark and said that she would invite him to dinner for getting this job.
Before the call was made, a group of people like fierce devils came.
“Who are you...” she asked weakly.
Neither did the two men answer her, dragging her directly toward the door.
“Let go of me, this is my house, what are you doing!”
She was a little dizzy from the fever while the whole body felt week. She couldn’t struggle as she was
forcibly dragged along.
Eventually, she was forced to get into a black car.
The car raced across the road, driving over the speed bumps, which made her so uncomfortable that
she almost threw up.
She had a severe headache, and her neck was stiff with her eyes rolling into the back of her head.
After a long time, the car finally stopped.
Dazed and confused, she was dragged to the side of the road again.
“Throw her into the river.”
Buzzing straight away in her ears, she suddenly heard a male voice that was slow and even a bit
deliberate.
With a shudder of shock, she slowly opened her eyes.
In the night, leaning under a streetlamp, this tall and slender man looked at her with his face clouded
which could not be eliminated by the orange streetlight. He looked black as thunder.
Beth was about to cry out, while her voice cracked with emotion.
“Karl Brown!” Her former fiance.
When she said this name, the man became even angrier.
He looked at her and said mercilessly, “throw her into the river.”
Such a short sentence, he said with great difficulty. Because he was born with a stutter. This was the
reason why everyone insulted him and looked down on him,
Beth cried, “Are you crazy? Why are you doing this to me?”
“Who, let you, bully Carina? You, damn it. Seems like you like it so much, bullying her, then you have
the whole night to drink the river water.”
