BREAKFAST
Layla’s eyes fluttered open as she yawned loudly. The light in the room hit her eyes as she stretched out her hands to try and reach out for Nolan but she realized he wasn’t on the bed.
Yawning for the second time, she sat up, with the duvet around her chest, as she looked around to see if Nolan was in the room, but he was not.
Taking a look at the table clock on the drawer near the bed. She realized it was already afternoon.
Layla gasped as she looked at the time.
She literally overslept though that was because Nolan practically kept her awake the whole night. He promised to be gentle but he was nowhere gentle as he went hard on her.
Getting up from the bed, she went to the bathroom to freshen up.
Nolan must have left her to sleep as he didn’t want to trouble or disturb her sleep.
As Layla looked in the mirror, she realized just how tired she looked. Her messy hair only confirmed what it all.
She had a quick shower and walked to the closet to grab some clothes.
She took a sweater that belonged to Nolan and joggers pants also.
The clothes were very big for her but Layla liked it as she felt so comfortable in it.
After she was done, she headed out of the room. Just when she opened the door to come out, she saw Nolan standing in front of the door with a food cart.
Layla’s eyes widened In surprise the moment she saw Nolan.
Nolan smiled as he saw the look of surprise on Layla’s face. He knew he had caught her off guard, but he was happy to see her nonetheless.
“Good afternoon, my love,” he said, his voice full of affection.
“I hope you’re hungry, because I’ve got a special breakfast or rather lunch prepared for you.” He grinned sheepishly .
He motioned towards the food cart, which was filled with a variety of delicious dishes. Layla’s mouth started to water as she looked at the food, and she felt her stomach grumble in anticipation.
“I hope you like it,” Nolan said, a mischievous grin on his face and Layla slowly shook her head
She was starving.
“You made this?” Layla asked in disbelief, unable to believe that Nolan made food. He was a king, an Alpha.
“I did,” Nolan replied, his smile widening. “I made sure it was perfect. This mate of yours is a pro in handling things ” He boasted all proud.
It was his first time entering a kitchen and the kitchen was left in a mess but he made sure to make different dire dishes.
Layla couldn’t help but laugh at Nolan’s confidence. He was clearly proud of himself, and she found it endearing.
“I’m glad you’re so proud of yourself,” she said, her eyes sparkling with amusement.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
“Come here…” Nolan held her hand pulling her close and he planted a kiss on her lips.
She looked so good in his clothes.
“You look good, mate..” he smirked.
“Come in, let’s dig in or the food would get cold..” he uttered as they both got into the room and locked the door behind them.
Nolan took Layla to the bed as he made her sit down while he served her.
Layla’s mouth watered at the different variety of dishes he made for her.
“Wow, this looks amazing,” Layla praised as she surveyed the food in front of her. There was an omelet with spinach and mushrooms, a plate of fluffy pancakes with fresh berries, a bowl of yogurt with granola and fruit, and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
“How did you even have time to make all of this?” she asked, genuinely impressed as it was his first time.
Nolan grinned. “Let’s just say I’m a quick learner,” he said, winking at her. That was why there was something called the internet.
“Now, dig in!”
“I definitely will,” she grinned, taking a bite of the omelet. She had to admit, it was actually delicious but there was just too much salt.
“This is really good!” She placed her hand in her mouth as she slowly chewed the food.
The salt in it could split her liver into two.
“Thanks!” Nolan said, looking very pleased with himself. “I’m glad you like it.”
“I’ll try the pancakes..” Layla informed as she tasted the pancakes. Heaven knew she was not going back to the omelet. She just hoped the pancake tasted good.
“F*ck!” Layla yelled the moment she tasted the pancakes.
It was definitely so much worse than the omelet.
None of the flavors blended and salt was still too much.
“What is the issue?” Nolan asked, seeing the discomfort in her face.
“It’s nothing..” Layla chuckled. “The food Is nice..” she grinned as she took a big gulp from the orange juice, at least that tasted good.
“Nolan..” Layla called, dropping the cup down slowly.
“Hmm”
“Do you taste your food when cooking?” She asked cautiously. She knew he put in so much effort to make her a meal and she appreciated it a lot, so she didn’t want to hurt his feelings.
“No, why are you asking?”
“I’m not trying to make you feel bad, but it’s too salty..” she said slowly, picking her words carefully.
Nolan’s face fell, and he looked genuinely disappointed.
“Oh… I’m sorry to hear that. I thought I followed the recipe perfectly. I guess I must have added too much salt.” He frowned, looking at the omelet on Layla’s plate.
“I’ll be more careful next time.”
But even though he was clearly disappointed, he still managed to smile at Layla.
“I’m glad you’re honest with me, though. I’d rather you tell me when something is wrong so I can improve.” He chuckled. He definitely messed up big time.
“You’re amazing,” Layla said, giving him a big smile and she stood up from the bed.
She stood in front of him and she planted a kiss on his lips.
“Thanks for making me breakfast..” She kissed him again.
“You’re welcome love..” Nolan smirked.
“I’ll ask a maid to throw that aside..” he said pointing at the food and Layla slowly shook her head.
“For now, let’s get you something to eat. Probably I can learn from you. So my beautiful mate won’t have to stress herself next time..” he snaked his hands around her waist pulling her for another kiss.
This kiss was longer and he took his time to enjoy her lips.
“I love you..” Layla muttered breathlessly.
“Me too..” he said, scooped her up from the ground, carrying her in a bridal style and he carried her to the kitchen, so they could fix something else.
