Chapter 6: The Alpha’s Wrath
“Yes, Alpha Derrick orders for you to be brought to his chamber within a minute.” The guard replied, and fear gripped Ortega immediately.
“Why does the Alpha want her in his chamber, Ramos?” Priscila asked the guard.
“Only the alpha has the answer to that question.” Ramos replied curtly and faced Ortega who was still shocked and scared to hear the news. “Let’s go young lady. The Alpha hates it when he’s being delayed.”
“Don’t worry Ortega, everything is gonna be fine.” Priscilla said with an assuring smile.
Ortega nodded, and Ramos stepped aside for Ortega to come out of the room.
Ortega walked out and the both of them started walking to Alpha Derrick’s chamber.
They funally to the chamber after two minutes of walking. Ramos opened the door and they both stepped inside the room.
“The Alpha is busy right now. Wait here till he returns, and don’t touch anything.” Ramos said in a expressionless voice, and Ortega nodded.
“I’m serious, young lady. Don’t touch anything in this room.” Ramos repeated, making Ortega wonder why he was repeating that statement.
‘Why is he telling not to touch anything. Do I look like a thief to him or what?’ she thought angrily to herself, and Ramos read her mind.
“I’m telling you this not because I think you’re a thief, but because of your own benefit.” He said, and Ortega raised a questioning brow at him.
“Benefit? What benefit?” She asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
“The Alpha gets furious when his property is being touched by someone else. So, I saved your life by warning you firsthand.” Ramos replied. “The alpha would kill you brutally if he sees you touching a single item in this room and I’m pretty sure you’d have touched something if I hadn’t told you not to. So if you still value your life, remain on your spot and don’t touch anything in this room till he’s arrives.” He added.
“Thanks for the warning, Ramos.” Ortega said with a smile.
Ramos said nothing in response, instead he turned around and made his way out of the large room.
“With everything Ramos just said, I’m sure the alpha is a mean and wicked alpha. I just hope doesn’t kick me out of his kingdom.” She muttered and glanced around the room.
The room was large enough to throw a party for more than two hundred people. The walls were painted white and the floor was tiled from wall to wall.
Four black couches were placed in the center of the room and a golden table was set in the middle of the couches.
The chandeliers in the room were all gold in colour and they numbered about ten.
Picture frames of beautiful artworks were hung on the walls, adding more beauty to the room.
Ortega glanced around the room in awe. She had never seen such luxury in her entire life.
Everything in the room was modern and expensive.
“Wow!” She exclaimed in a low tone when she saw a huge portrait of a black wolf.
She walked to the portrait with a wide smile on her face.
She was mesmerized by the beauty of the portrait and she totally forgot about Ramos’s warning of not touching anything in the room.
She raised her hand and she touched the portrait, roaming her hands on it admiringly.
“And what the fuck do you think you’re doing?!” A deep and masculine voice asked behind her and she flinched in fright, her hand mistakenly hitting an expensive jug which was on the table beside her.
Ortega’s eyes went wide with shock as mug crashed on the ground and shattered into a million pieces.
Her face went pale and fear took over her body system.
She slowly moved her gaze to alpha Derrick andshe almost peed on her pants when she saw the deadly glare on his face.
His jaw was clenched to suppress the fire in his heart and his hands were balled in a tight fist. His knuckles were turning white due to how tight his fists were folded but he cared less about that.
His blood was boiling in anger and the only way to quench his anger was by killing the lady who dared to break one of his expensive items.
He glanced at the broken pieces of the jug on the floor and his anger doubled. He felt like ripping Ortega apart and that was exactly what he was gonna do.
His eyes changed from brown to red and claws sprouted out from his fingers. The claws were long and sharp.
Ortega on the other hand was shivering in fear. Her heart banged so hard against her ribs that she feared it might break through the bones.
She suddenly remembered Ramos’s warning and that doubled her fear. She started regretting that she didn’t listen to him.
“How dare you break such an expensive item?!” Alpha Derrick barkedl, and he started walking towards her.
“I… I am sorry alpha..” she stuttered as moved backwards in fear.
“Who do you think you’re to come inside my room and touch my belongings, huh?” Alpha Derrick asked angrily as he continued walking towards her in rage.
Ortega kept shifting back till her back touched a wall. She was trapped and there was no way she would escape the beast approaching her.
Her breathes became shaky and her body started trembling as Alpha Derrick moved towards her.
“Ple… please alpha… I’m sorry.. I… I didn’t mean to break the jug.. please forgive me…” Ortega begged, hoping he’d change his mind and forgive her cause she was so scared.
“Don’t fu*king beg for forgiveness human!” snarled Alpha Derrick in anger as he continued walking towards Ortega. “Just give me one reason why I shouldn’t rip out your heart and use it as a replacement for the expensive jug you broke?!”
Ortega stood frozen with her eyes wide in fear while her brain worked like a ticking clock; thinking up something to say. And whatever she was going to say would either save her life or cause her to loose it because the beast in front of her won’t let her go scot-free — which is why she needed to use her words wisely.
The air was a bit tensed with the room falling silent as Alpha Derrick covered the remaining distance between them.
He looked down at her, boring his raging red eyes into Ortega’s frightened gaze.
“Just give me one reason why I shouldn’t kill you and I promise human, I’ll let you go. A sensible reason is all I need and you’ll be free to leave.” He whispered with a dangerous look on his face, sending waves of shiver down Ortega’s spine.
Ortega started thinking of what to say that’d change his mind and make him forgive her for what she did.
She thought for about two minutes but she got no idea of what to say to soothe his anger.
“Why are you suddenly mute?, Cat got your tongue?” asked Alpha Derrick with an angry smirk across his lips.
Ortega remained quiet, lowering her head to stare down at her feet in order to avoid his gaze.
“I said give me one bloody reason why I shouldn’t kill your right here and right now for what you did!” Alpha Derrick said through gritted teeth causing Ortega to shiver the more.
When Ortega didn’t give him any response, he gripped her neck tightly, making her gasp loudly. Her eyes went wide heart began beating faster than before as she was being lifted off the ground.
She held Derrick’s hand which was tightly wrapped around her neck and she tried to release it from her neck.
She knew she was gonna die someday, but she never expected it to be so soon. She started wishing she had died in the forest the night she was banished from Brimstone kingdom.
She started wishing that was killed instead of banished.
Tears slipped out of her eyes as Alpha Derrick’s grip on her neck became tighter. Her face was already white and veins appeared on her neck as she struggled to breathe.
“Now, I’m gonna make you pay for intruding my privacy you worthless human.” Alpha Derrick said through gritted teeth.
“Stop Derrick! Stop!!!” Rufus, his inner wolf yelled in his head, but alpha Derrick was too angry to stop himself.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
His mind was clouded with anger and the only thing he wanted to do is to rip out Ortega’s heart.
He raised his free hand, ready to sink his sharp and long claws into her chest to rip out her heart.
Ortega gave up and she stopped struggling.
‘It’s over.’ she said, inwardly, and she closed her eyes, waiting for her death.
