Chapter 1 Public Relations Manager

Chapter 1 Public Relations Manager

I was born in a little-known small county. I was originally a designer or an office lady. But due to some

reasons, I was now a manager.

I made up a job and lied to my mother about it. I didn’t want her to worry about me as she was getting

older.

I wanted to leave this place a long time ago.

Two years ago, I was a manager at Golden Emperor in M City. I was not actually experienced or

suitable for the position, but I thought that the salary was higher working as a manager. Luckily I was

good with people back then and worked for a few months without any issue.

I used a fake name here, Barbara Cox. The people here called me Barbara. I was actually quite young

in comparison to the other workers here, but I put on heavy make-up and made myself looked older.

Nobody had ever seen my face without make-up.

I always wanted to leave this place and go to work without hiding anything, I wanted a normal white-

collar job. I wanted to do a job that I loved in the future, and hence I tried my best to hide my true self

every day.

But misfortune would come to you when you least expected it! Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

I treated my subordinate very well as a manager and the people working under me were all nice

people.

Once, a girl named Angel, a freshman who dropped out of university came to work under me. She was

working to pay for her boyfriend’s tuition fee.

I didn’t comment on her blind love towards her boyfriend, as I had no love experience. I didn’t know

how to love somebody, but I didn’t think that I would ever do something like what Angel was doing.

She was still young and naive and was easily picked. One day, a manager from another group said that

they wanted a pure and pretty girl. And so, I recommended Angel.

But who knew that soon after that she argued with a customer. The customer was out of control and

even the security guards couldn’t hold him down. I couldn’t do anything else but called the police. The

customer was then taken away.

Our boss Cooper Chan covered up the incident, but I wasn’t let off the hook. I was framed by that

customer.

Back then, I didn’t know what was happening and didn’t know the man who framed me. After that

incident, I left Golden Emperor and went to work at a newly opened place called Charm Club.

I was forced to drink while working here. I wasn’t a good drinker and was shit-faced every day. I would

rest in the resting room after my shift and only go home once I sober up.

The customers here would leave around 1-2 in the morning, some would even stay until 3-4 in the

morning.

I looked at the time and it was turning 3 a.m soon. It was getting late, and I was planning to make

rounds looking at the rooms, in the meant time hinting to the customers that we were closing soon.

I looked into the mirror and freshened myself up, I put on a big smile and walked out. The moment I

walked out of the resting room, a person came flying towards me and ran into me.
