Kage had spent a little more time with Sylvie, but in the end, he managed to convince them to postpone the wedding, still Only, it was to be postponed by three weeks So, in three weeks, he'd have to fully make up his mind for it. It was real now.
When Sylvie returned home as planned the next day, Kage found himself feeling a little conflicted. As he watched her take the stairs leading to her room, he couldn't ignore the quickness of his heart.
He suddenly felt guilty having her there guilty because he felt it wasn't fair to Lana - the lady he was about to be married to Guilty because deep down, he didn't force her to move in with him simply because he wanted to watch over the babies, but because thee was a part of him that wanted her around. There was a part of him that wanted to watch her and keep her away from Westley or any other man- because he was jealous. And it wasn't just because of the kids, but because it was Sylvie
He asked himself - was she part of the reason he postponed his wedding? Was it simply because he was busy like he claimed?
There was something different about him- Sylvie noticed as she headed for her room. Yes, Kage had welcomed her, told her he was glad she was back, but there was something different about him.
His eyes didn't have their usual spark, his tone and words were lacking his usual wit: Something was off with him.
Could it be
Coul be connected to Paul's death she pondered. Or was it something entirely different?
She had something to eat before sleeping off.
Late in the evening, she decided to snoop around in Kage's room. He'd driven out of the house a while ago.
Sylvie had been waiting to see if he'd come back, but he hadn't She figured it'd be the best time to check his room. Perhaps, she'd find something on Paul.
She was wearing a jeans short with a black singlet, her bump very visible. There was only one maid around but she was in the laundry room. There were no cameras around. Sylvie was sure it'd be fine.
It was her first time being in Kage's bedroom. It was everything she could imagine big, well furnitured with intricate designs. There was a study table by the wall, and that was where Sylvie headed to. He worked from home from that desk, so perhaps, there could be something.
However, after searching thoroughly for several minutes, she couldn't find anything suspicious.
She explored his closet, checking for hidden drawers or something, but there was nothing.
She returned to the bedroom and was about checking the drawers by his bed when she heard footsteps. She flinched. running to the door and checking through the peephole, and there she found Kage approaching.
Godgodgod. What the hell?? Why was he back, now of all times? How does she explain being in his bedroom?
She looked around, like she could find a solution. The footsteps were getting closer. He could be here any minute.

She drew in a deep breath as she ran and hid under the bed. Luckily for her, the bed was high enough, but the position was awfully uncomfortable due to her bump. She had to lift her weight up with her hands on the floor. Hopefully, he'd the bathroom so she could leave. Kage's phone rang just as he opened the door and walked into his room.

"Yes,"
I can hear you, he spoke to one of his assistants,
Using his free hand, her took off his watch, unbuttoning his shirt next. Sylvie was holding her breath the whole time. "Let hum go to the bathroom. Let him go to the bathroom she kept praying.
"But how is it so difficult to find? The launch is in three days, Matt. I need to know what they're launching. If they have spies within my circle and already know what I'm launching. I think I deserve same."
He sighed disgruntledly as he listened to his assistants' unsatisfying response on the phone.
"Just get it done. If Philse-Wave strikes too hard, it's not gonna be good for us."
Sylvie could have a little peak at him from under the bed, and when he completely took Iff his shirt, she was totally stunned.
Good lord! It was the first time she was seeing Kage Hawkins shirtless well, the first time since he became an adult and grew all those abs. She had no idea he had such a perfect body behind those shirts. How did it happen? She was lost staring at him, she almost forgot she was hiding under his bed. Not until he dropped the call and walked into the bathroom.
Okay, 1 that was a good one. Slowly, she crawled out of the bed, releasing the deep breath she'd been holding in the whole
time.
As soon as she was on her feet, she headed for the door, but it was too late as the bathroom door opened, revealing Kage with a white towel wrapped around his waist and one over his right shoulder.
She froze, literally. A gasp slipped her throat as her eyes widened like they could swallow up the room. No. No. No. He wasn't supposed to be there!
Kage furrowed his brows in confusion as he looked at paled Sylvie in his room, trying to unlock his door.
Okay...this was strange. He was about taking his bath when he remembered there was an important text he needed to send. on his phone. So, he came out and to his surprise, his pregnant ex-wife was trying to sneak out of his room. "What's going on?" He took further steps, then glanced around. "Where were you when I came in?"
Sylvie was gobsmacked. Her brain felt like it was fried and she couldn't think of anything good.
"Sylvie?"
