Chapter 12 She’s Not Lillianna!
Chapter 12 She’s Not Lillianna!
Lacey stood on her tiptoes. Though Sam was now leaning over and her hands were around his neck,
she still struggled to keep her balance. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
"Sam—"
Having no choice, she landed on her feet and gave up.
Why was this man so gigantic?
He looked about 6'2" tall!
"Huh?" Just as Lacey was about to let go, Sam's hand, which was around her waist, abruptly drew her
closer.
She was pulled into his arms before having the chance to react. A pair of hands stopped awkwardly in
the middle to keep them apart.
"What are you—"
Sam abruptly leaned over before she could complete her sentence.
His gaze deepened as he caressed her face with his chin. With a low chuckle, he asked, "Which of
your friends are you paying a visit? Why don't I tag along?"
Lacey froze, and it was only then that she realized the slight ambiguity of their situation.
Reaching out her hand, she immediately pushed him away.
"There's no need for that! Well, you see, I'll be leaving soon. So, you go on about your business!"
Lacey took a step back as she spoke, clearly wanting to keep her distance from him.
Sam, on the other hand, drew closer to her till she was forced against the wall.
His hands were quick to trap her between his arms.
Then he leaned in close and asked, ambiguously, in a hushed tone, "What's the matter? Is that friend
of yours a guy or a lover?"
Stunned, Lacey looked up at Sam in dismay. Her black twilight eyes set her face even paler.
What did he just say?
A what?
A lover?
"I'm just kidding." Sam suddenly stood up straight. He stroked her hair with a faint smile and said, "Call
me later, okay?" as if nothing had happened.
Lacey was slightly puzzled. She was caught off guard by his sudden change of attitude.
Sam smirked, and he asked, "What's the matter? Do you want to bring me along?"
"No, no, no! I mean, I'll call you later!" Lacey bolted after saying that.
It wasn't until she disappeared out of sight that the smile on Sam's lips gradually faded.
Asa, who had been standing at a distance, rushed over. "Mr. Garrison, Ms. Carter seems to be acting a
little odd today!"
As the secretary, Asa stood far away from the start of the two's meeting.
However, Ms. Carter's behavior was just too strange!
Why did she act like she didn't know him in the supermarket?
"She's not Lillianna!" Sam's voice rang out coldly at that very moment.
Asa was astonished. "She's not Ms. Carter? How is that possible? But—"
"Take a look into it." Sam placed his order before turning around and heading for the lift.
Asa nodded hastily and replied, "Yes, sir."
On the other hand, Lillianna arrived wearing sunglasses and a hat at the hospital.
In her arms was a bouquet.
Although she didn't show her face, the luxury brands she wore made her stand out in the crowd.
"Hey, which floor is he on?" Lillianna called from inside the lift. "What did you say? The fifteenth floor?
Okay, got it!"
Just after the phone hung up, Lillianna couldn't help but frown. What a stinky hospital!
Shortly afterward, the lift arrived on the fifteenth floor.
Lillianna grimaced as she stepped out of the lift. She'd forgotten which ward Mr. Barry located.
"Forget it. I'd better ask the nurse." She thought.
With her head held high, she walked down the corridor in high heels, vividly bright flowers in her hands.
Sure enough, the eyes of passers-by were all drawn to her.
"Ding ring!" Her phone rang again at that very moment.
When Lillianna picked up the phone, she noticed that the call was not coming from a contact.
The figures, however, made her frown. She then took a quick look around before dashing for the
stairway.
Opening the door, she stepped inside.
"Are you insane, or what? Didn't I warn you not to call me—"
Lillianna froze before she could finish her sentence.
......
Maria, who was doing rehab by climbing the stairs, looked up and froze as well.
