Chapter 24
Chapter 24
He took a sip from the cup and casually clicked open the photo. The next second, the water choked his
throat, and the water in his hand splashed out. He covered his mouth and coughed awkwardly
Everyone looked over, and it took Liam a while to stop coughing, his face pale.
People held their breath, thinking Mr. Reed was unhappy with the previous remark.
Liam looked gloomy, whispered something to Owen, and then turned around and said slightly,
“Continue.”
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, while Owen quietly left the conference room.
In the reception room downstairs.
Celeste sat on the sofa, flipping through the magazines on the table out of boredom.
The sound of hurried footsteps came from behind, followed by Owen’s voice, “Ma’am, why didn’t you
call before coming over?”
The receptionist who led the way was shocked! So she was indeed Mr. Reed’s wife!
Then why did Mr. Reed say he didn’t know her?!
Never mind, all that didn’t matter The important thing was that he had just taken that kind of photo for
Mrs. Reed!
The receptionist turned pale, feeling his career was over. What game were these two people playing?
Celeste put down the magazine, ‘I did call, but Owen must have been too busy to hear it.”
Owen actually knew Celeste had contacted him, but Mr. Reed ordered him not to respond, so he had to
act like he didn’t hear that.
Pretending not to sense the sarcasm in Celeste’s words, Owen continued, “I’m really sorry, I was in a
meeting and left my phone in the office. It’s also my fault for not explaining clearly, as the secretary and
operator are new here, so there might be some oversights. I apologize, ma’am, please follow me.”
If it weren’t for the fact that she had just heard Liam say he didn’t know her, she would have believed
his words
They were in this together!
After the two got off the elevator, Owen asked, “What brings you to the company, ma’am?”
Celeste raised the bag in her hand, “I want Liam to help me take this stuff to his mother”
Owen asked, “Is that all?”
She also wanted to ask Liam for a divorce, but this had to be said in person. So she said, “I also want C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
to discuss something with Mr.
Reed.”
However, Owen said, “Mr. Reed hasn’t had breakfast yet.”
Celeste was puzzled: What does that have to do with anything?
Seeing the confusion in her eyes, Owen added, “Mr. Reed gets cranky when he doesn’t eat breakfast,
so it’s not a good time to discuss
things.
Celeste was speechless: She had heard of people being grumpy when they just woke up, but never
heard of people being grumpy when they didn’t eat breakfast. What kind of weird problem was this?
“Doesn’t your company cafeteria serve food?” she asked.
“Mr. Reed is picky and never eats in the cafeteria,” Owen replied.
Celeste believed that.
Liam’s pickiness was well-known. He didn’t like heavy flavors in his dishes. The texture couldn’t be too
hard or too mushy. He didn’t eat leftovers; one bite would give him diarrhea. He didn’t like cilantro, but
he insisted that it be added to noodle soup, only to pick out the cilantro bits one by one.
