Chapter 147 You’re disappointed to see me?
“Who told you to come?”
Patrick had just rushed up when he was stopped and dragged to the side by two bodyguards, the rain drowning out his curses.
The black figure walked through the rain curtain, not in a hurry, towards Lexie.
Lexie staggered back two steps.
The black umbrella below reveals a frost-like face, a pair of eyes more gloomy than the winter rain.
Before Alan could say anything, the police officer who came along behind him crossed over to him, “Miss Miller, we received a notice from above, in response to the case you recently handled, the inspector team wants to investigate you, please come with us.”
Flora frowned and swept her cold eyes over Alan behind them.
Lexie stopped in front of Flora at once.
[What do you want?
“Lexie, it’s okay,” Flora said as she pulled her towards the police officer who had come to take her away, “I’m coming with you.”
From a distance, Patrick shouted, “What are you doing? Is there a law anymore? Is J City all Howard’s?”
Under the black umbrella, Alan lifted his hand and waved it gently.
Patrick cried out in pain, his insults stopped abruptly and he planted himself on the lawn.
Lexie’s face changed, [Patrick!
[What are you doing? You let Patrick go!
Alan held his umbrella with one hand, his face grim, “You seem disappointed to see me appear here.”
Lexie’s shoulders trembled, [Am I supposed to be happy? Happy that a man who killed my grandma showed up at her funeral, unharmed?
What’s wrong with the world?
Alan obviously smuggled drugs, obviously did so many harmful things, but can get away with it, but also so grandly appear in front of the victims to continue to do evil.
Alan said, “Is that why you went to the trouble of joining forces with Flora to put me in jail?”
[That’s what you deserve!
“Deserved?”
The coldness in Lexie’s eyes stung Alan’s eyes, and anger instantly rose from his chest.
Kevin was quick on the uptake and pulled Lexie behind him, “Brother, what are you doing? You can talk about what you have some other time, today is grandma’s funeral!”
“When is it your turn to be in charge of our couple’s affairs?”
“Brother!”
Kevin gritted his teeth, “Brother don’t you forget that you are already divorced, you are now married to Edith, where the hell are you going to put her if you continue to dwell on this?”
“Get out of the way.”
Alan unceremoniously pushed Kevin away, and the bodyguards on one side quickly held Kevin down.
Lexie let out a cry of pain and was grabbed by Alan’s wrist.
[Let go of me, let go of me!
“The funeral is over, my patience with you is over, now come with me.”
[Where are you taking me? You let go of me!
Lexie struggled and slapped her other hand desperately at Alan’s body, slapping the umbrella out of Alan’s hand as the cold rain pelted down on her.
Alan tightened his grip on her hand fiercely, “Had enough of this?”
The tombstone of grandma is getting farther and farther away. No matter how Lexie struggles, Alan has no intention to let go of her, and in the midst of Kevin’s shouting, she violently grabs Alan’s arm and bites down hard.
There was a muffled grunt from the man overhead.
Alan stared at her incredulously, his eyebrows wrinkled in trembling furrows, his thin lips pursed tightly, but even so, he did not release her, watching the blood flow down the back of his hand.
The taste of blood like rust spread in the mouth, Lexie’s eyes were red, staring dead at Alan, and finally tears came out of her eyes.
In the blur of tears, the body began to tremble uncontrollably.
Alan picked her up and walked towards the entrance of the cemetery without looking back.
The rain in the sky quickly washed the blood off the ground.
The bodyguard released Kevin, he rushed to the cemetery entrance and watched Alan’s car take off while he was helpless. Turning back to see Patrick still fainted behind him, he had to go ahead and save him.
Lexie was taken back to Alan’s villa in the southern suburbs.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
As soon as she entered, Alan dragged her to the bedroom and slammed her on the sofa, “It’s quiet here, you’ll live here from now on.”
Lexie wore her hair loose, her head down without saying a word, one hand clasped dead to the rest of the couch cushions.
Alan got annoyed when he saw her like this and shouted outside, “Someone.”
The maid ran in carefully, “Sir.”
“Take her to take a shower and change her clothes before you meet me.”
“Yes.”
Alan coldly swept Lexie a glance and dropped a sentence, “Don’t feel aggrieved, what do you have to be aggrieved about? Everything is what you asked for.”
It was Peter who married her into the Howard family and met herself, and it was she who willingly married for Edith, the beginning was her beginning, and the end could not let her do as she wished.
Closing the door to the room, Alan was all chills.
The maid outside looked at the blood on Alan’s hand, “Sir, let’s bandage your hand, it’s still bleeding.”
The back of Alan’s hand is clearly visible pressure marks, the flesh will bite through, after being soaked in rainwater is looking as if ulcerated, shocking, “Take the medicine box to me on the line.”
The maid went to get the medicine box and the sound of a vibrating cell phone came from Alan’s pocket.
It was Edith on the phone.
“Hello?”
“Alan, I heard you’re okay over there, right?”
“It’s all right.”
“That’s really great, where are you now? Let’s have dinner tonight to celebrate.”
“No, I have some things to take care of.”
Edith’s tone changed abruptly, “Are you with Lexie? Don’t you forget, you’re my fianc?? now, so why do you have to be with other women all the time?”
At that, Alan’s face rose with hostility, “Since when do I need to report to you for anything I do? Even the Howard family’s legitimate Mrs. Howard is not in charge of my business.”
“There’s nothing going on I’m hanging up.”
After saying this, he hung up the phone directly.
He hated being told what to do by women, and even if Edith had what he wanted, it didn’t mean he could be subservient to her.
At the other end of the phone, Edith asked a few ‘hellos’ to the phone before realizing that the phone had hung up.
She was so angry she wanted to smash the phone.
Alan came out of detention today, she received the news early in the morning, originally thought he would come to find himself, but did not expect that the first person he went to see was Lexie, is that mute.
He really can’t get over that dumb guy!
When she thought of Alan’s indifferent attitude, she suddenly had some fears, it was so hard to get the position of fianc?? e, if this goes on, I am afraid that it will be a foregone conclusion.
No, she had to find a way to get Alan back to herself.
After a moment of deliberation, she tapped a text message on her phone and sent it over.
With a ‘ding’ sound, a text message alert sounded in the large living room of the southern suburban villa.
Alan took one look and instantly sat up straight.
“What you asked me last time, I thought it over, the evidence is in my hands, others I am not comfortable with, I want to hand it over to you.”
The text message was from Edith.
