Chapter 43
Chapter 43
The lighter had “Eternal Love Cemetery” printed on it.
This was the lighter that Esther had threatened him with just now?
There was no liquid in the mint green lighter. What did it mean?
Bradley gripped the lighter, knuckles and nails turning white. His lips were pressed hard together, and
his burning gaze was as if he was going to burn holes through the lighter.
The doctors and experts ran a detailed full body check on Felix. Five minutes later, a doctor
approached Bradley and said gently, “Mr. Bradley, Mr. Felix’s doing fine. It’s just…”
The doctor hesitated, unsure if he should bring it up.
“Just what?” asked Bradley.
“Just that there’s a fingernail mark on Mr. Felix’s ear,” replied the doctor.
While the doctor spoke to Bradley, Felix took the chance to sneak his hand under the pillow to grab the
pen recorder, his heart pounding at a loss.
Should he hide the pen recorder? Where should he hide it? Where should he hide it so that Liliane
would not find it?
Felix’s eyes scanned the room swiftly, but he could not find a suitable spot to hide his treasure. He
thought about it and tucked the pen recorder into his shirt pocket, clutching it with his hand.
His eyes then fell on his smartwatch on the bedside table, and he picked it up to find Clark’s number
and call him.
“Grandpaw Clark, I’m Felix. I miss you so much!”
Clark chuckled openly when he heard Felix’s voice. “I miss you too, Mr. Felix. Were you brave in the
surgery?”
“I was super brave!” Felix said cutely, “Grandpaw Clark, can you bring me Thor into my room?”
“Anything else you want aside from Thor?”
Felix whined adorably, “I want to see you too, Grandpaw Clark.”
“I miss you too, Mr. Felix.”
Bradley did not disturb Felix and Clark’s call since the boy was fine. When Felix hung up, Bradley
asked, “Felix, why did you suddenly want Thor?” Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
“Because…” Felix said, blinking his bright eyes, “I want to fight bad guys like Thor!”
“What bad guy?” Liliane came with a thermos. Upon hearing Felix’s lively voice from afar, she could not
help thinking how lucky the kid was to still be alive.
“Mommy, I want to beat the bad guys up badly like Thor!”
Liliane reached out to pat Felix’s head affectionately, but he dodged and complained seemingly
unintentionally, “Mommy, my ear still hurts from when you pinched it just now.”
Liliane froze and forced a smile. “Let me see?”
“Look!” Felix showed his ear to Liliane and said loudly, “The doctor said that there’s a mark!”
Bradley looked closely and found a faint fingernail mark, as expected. The crescent mark was a light
red.
“I’m sorry, Felix. I got carried away and hurt you. Mommy will be careful next time.” Liliane apologized
begrudgingly, thinking of how Felix never dared to tell Bradley about it in the past but actually did it
now.
“I forgive you, Mommy.” Felix then blinked his big eyes as he told Bradley, “Daddy, you can’t be mad at
Mommy. We have to be nice people.”
Bradley was rendered speechless.
