Chapter 22
Chapter 22
Chapter 22 Rich Playboy
“Who are you meeting with?” one of the receptionists asked.
Christopher couldn’t help but frown when he saw them looking at him like he was a country bumpkin.
“I’m here to see your general manager,” he said calmly.
“Pfft! Are you a madman? Do you know where you’re at? This is Globetrotter Winery! Is the general
manager someone you can just meet?” the leader of the receptionists voiced disdainfully. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
He’s here to meet the general manager? Who is he kidding? Not even those rich and famous in
Jadeborough are worthy to meet the general manager! Right then, those receptionists thought
Christopher was there to mess around.
Christopher didn’t want to have an argument with them because he didn’t want his identity to get
exposed. Well, let me call Diane.
The moment Christopher whipped out his phone, they heard a man grumbling, “Jane, what’s going on
here? Why is a person like that showing up at the entrance of Globetrotter Winery? Look at what he’s
wearing, will you? Do you think he’s a consumer here? Get someone to chase him out! What a joker.”
Upon hearing that, Christopher turned toward the voice and saw a man who looked like a rich playboy.
His arms were wrapped around a skanky-looking lady. The lady was dressed in a revealing cropped
top and a pair of black leggings.
“Mr. Taylor, didn’t you say Globetrotter Winery is the most luxurious spot in Jadeborough? What is this
farmer doing here? Why have you brought me to such a place?” the lady mocked.
“Trish, since when have I lied to you? This is indeed the most high-end joint in Jadeborough. I’m a
partner at Globetrotter Winery, so we can just walk right in. Otherwise, you would have to make a
reservation beforehand!” Felix Taylor was annoyed because that was a girl he only managed to date
after several attempts. He brought her there intending to show off, but they ended up bumping into an
ex-soldier. Besides, he was even humiliated by her.
Agitated, Felix turned toward Jane Corden and shouted, “Jane! Get someone to kick that man out!
Can’t you see how poor he looks? If he gets in and steals, I’m going to get your manager to fire all of
you!”
“I’m sorry, Mr. Taylor. I’ll deal with him now.” Jane smiled apologetically when she saw how pissed off
Felix was.
Felix nodded in satisfaction. With a smug expression on his face, he looked at Christopher arrogantly
and scolded, “Have a look at yourself, will you? Who the hell wears a camouflage suit in this day and
age? How dare you visit Globetrotter Winery?”
Christopher glanced back at him and chuckled coldly. “Let’s hope you don’t regret what you said.”
“F*ck off! You’re acting tough, aren’t you? Get out! Security! Come here at once!” Felix was infuriated
upon hearing Christopher’s tone. With just a wave of his hand, he summoned a burly security guard.
The guard approached him and said politely, “I’m here, Mr. Taylor.”
“Get rid of this man. He has affected my mood,” Felix ordered in a disgusted tone.
The security guard knew who Felix was, so he wanted to butter him up. Upon hearing Felix’s order, he
immediately turned around and pointed at Christopher. “Hey, f*cker! I’ll give you three seconds to
scram! Take a look at yourself in the mirror, will you?”
Christopher smirked and uttered, “I hope you can maintain your arrogance act later.”
With that, Christopher turned around and walked toward a quiet corner.
Felix spat in disgust and cursed, “F*ck! How dare you act tough in front of me? You’re just lucky I can’t
beat you up at the entrance of Globetrotter Winery. Otherwise, you would be dead!”
Meanwhile, Christopher was already ringing Diane on the phone. At that moment, she was sitting and
waiting for Christopher’s arrival anxiously in the study room. When she saw him calling her on the
phone, she picked up immediately and answered, “Boss!”
“I’m at Globetrotter Winery. However, I was stopped by your employees. Get someone to chase these
people out of here, will you?” Christopher asked flatly.
Having been handpicked by Dennis to be the general manager of Centurion Corporation, Diane was
undoubtedly a quick-witted person. Hence, she instantly knew someone had troubled Christopher.
She was starting to panic. Not only was Christopher her chairman, but he was also the Yaeger family’s
heir. She dared not to waste another second when she answered, “Mr. Yaeger, I’ll go down and fetch
you now.”
With that, Diane hung up the phone. Christopher wanted to tell her to just get a departmental manager
to deal with the situation, but she had already hung up on him. Diane was so anxious that she jogged
her way from her office to the elevator.
Even her secretary was dumbfounded when she saw Diane acting like a cat on a hot tin roof. The
secretary had never seen Diane behaving that way. Being the general manager of Centurion
Corporation, Diane wouldn’t even flinch when she dealt with government officials from Jadeborough.
The secretary knew something was up, so she quickly followed Diane from behind and asked worriedly,
“Ms. Reed, what happened?”
“We’ll talk later.” Diane pressed the button for the elevator and entered with her secretary.
After making his call, Christopher went back to the entrance. Right then, Felix was just about to head in
with his girlfriend. When he suddenly saw Christopher walking back into the winery, he fumed, “What
the f*ck? What are you still doing here?”
“I’ve already made a call. The person I’m meeting is coming to get me,” Christopher answered calmly.
“Ignore him, Mr. Taylor. I’ll get rid of him,” the security guard reassured in a polite tone. Felix then
waved his hand in dismissal and said, “Wait. Don’t stop him from bluffing. I would like to see who is
coming to get him.”
From the beginning, Felix had already assumed that Christopher was just an ex-soldier. Who could he
probably ask to meet him? The servers at Globetrotter Winery? I’m going to humiliate him later.
“What’s going on? What’s all this ruckus about? How inappropriate!” a middle-aged man voiced while
approaching from the side. Felix turned toward the voice and saw the short middle-aged man, and he
greeted, “Hi, Mr. Williams!”
“Hey, Felix. You are here. How’s your dad doing?” Quintin Williams was a manager at Globetrotter
Winery. He was the middleman for Felix’s family when they struck a deal to become a business partner
at Globetrotter Winery. Naturally, he was rewarded handsomely for his involvement.
“He’s doing well,” Felix answered with a smile.
“Mr. Williams, this man is creating trouble at the entrance-” Jane was trying to explain the situation, but
Quintin interrupted her and uttered, “Have you guys forgotten that this is Globetrotter Winery? What is
a farmer doing here? Get the security guards to chase him out.”
