My ex-husband is seeking a second chance

Chapter 48

When Lucas saw that Pearl had stopped in her tracks, he thought that there was a chance and happily followed her. However, Lucas was greeted with a cold face

“Are you crazy?”

Lucas felt as if he had been hit in the back of the head. “Huh?”

Pearl looked at Lucas as if he was a fool. “You’re already an adult. Aren’t you childish? Do you think you’re a junior high school student! Also, why would I agree to be with a playboy like you just to anger Marc! Do 1 have nothing better to do? If you want to play, there are plenty of women to play with you, but I don’t have time. I don’t want to play with you. Do you understand!”

Pearl let out a furious tirade, and Lucas felt like he was back in his school days, facing the headmaster after a fight, getting scolded thoroughly.

Lucas was in a daze for a long time. When Pearl was done scolding, he bowed shakily. “Got it, Ms. Woolery!”

Seeing Lucas’s respectful attitude, the assistants and bodyguards behind them almost didn’t hold back and laughed out loud.

Pearl mercifully let Lucas go

Lucas secretly sent Mare a message to complain. I was bullied by Pearl!

Marc was confused. [What?]

Lucas replied. (I wanted her to fall in love with me so that she could anger you. But she called me childish and even scolded me! I am so sad.]

Mare didn’t ev

‘t even know what to say,

Lucas added. [It’s been a long, long time since I’ve met a woman with such upright values and character. I realize that I like her even more! I’ve decided to officially start wooing her!]

Marc stared at the long line of words. His ink–black eyes were covered with a layer of frost as if a cold wind had swept past. His entire body was filled with low pressure.

Mare turned off his phone screen and looked out of the car window. His mind was filled with what Samuel had said to him.

If what Samuel said was true, then three years ago, Ken and Rebecca died on the way to Machodean to propose marriage. Not long after, Pearl appeared by Marc’s side and married him.

Could it be that Marc was really the person Pearl had a crush on for ten years!

However. Marc didn’t think he had any interactions with Pearl years ago.

Ten years ago?

Marc

closed his eyes and meditated for a while. He n

really could not find any memories.

Mare opened his eyes and instructed in a deep voice, Thomas, go and investigate the cause of Mr. Woolery and Mrs. Woolery’s deaths. Also, list all my itinerary from ten years ago. I want to take a look”

“Okay

Thomas agreed and asked, “Mr. Males, are we going back to Machodean now? Aren’t we going to stay in Nansion for a few more days?”

“Yes, let’s go back.

Marc’s mond was gloomy. There was no way he could get any answers from Pearl. He might as well investigate it himself.

As for the horse ranch business, Pearl clearly did not want to work with Mare. Why did Marc have to be so shameless and insist on coming up?

Marc smiled bitterly and shook his head. This was the first time he had been despised and rejected so thoroughly.

-Pearl and Lucas visited the huge horse ranch and were quite satisfied with the land.

“At the current pace, the horse ranch’s construction should be completed by the end of the month. I can arrange to bring in that batch of horses from Ivywood. When the time comes, you can choose one, and I’ll reserve it for you.”

Aher resting for a while, Lucas took the water from his assistant and gave Pearl a bottle.

Pearl took it. “Sure, thank you”

4:15 PM

Lucas smiled. “It’s rare to hear you thank someone”

“As long as you stop spouting nonsense, I’ll naturally be polite to you. I’m very cultured Pearl unscrewed the cap and drank the water.

Pearl raised her neck slightly. Her originally beautiful neck was even more eye–catching at this moment. There was not a single cervical stripe. Lucas felt that Pearl was really preuy

“It’s almost noon Are you hungry! Ill treat you to a meal.”

Pearl finished the rest of the water ansi said, “Let me treat you.”

Since Lucas was going to give Pearl a horse, she naturally had to return

favor and treat him to a meal. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

As the host, Pearl brought Lucas to a very famous local restaurant. The restaurant specialized in traditional cuisine. When they arrived, it was exactly twelve o’clock. There was a long line outside, and many people were waiting.

“Business seems to be doing well here. I’ve been wanting to dine at this restaurant for a while, but I heard they don’t take reservations, and they limit the number of guests each day, making it quite a spectacle. I wonder how the food tastes.”

Lucas sighed slightly. As Pearl walked in, the manager was greeting the guests. When the manager saw Pearl coming from afar, he jogged over. “You’re here!”

Pearl nodded slightly. “I bring a friend over for a meal. Just let Mr. Cooper cook a few simple dishes.”

Yes. Serenity Chamber upstairs has been tidied up for you. This way please”

The manager respectfully invited Pearl up.

Lucas followed Pearl and asked, “Is this also Woolery Group’s property!”

“It doesn’t count,” Pearl said. “This is my privately–owned restaurant”

Lucas was slightly surprised. As a foodie, he had opened many restaurants, but the restaurant business was not easy to do. It was rare for a restaurant to be so popular. “But as far as I know, this restaurant has been around for five to six years”

“Yes” Pearl led Lucas into the private room and said to him. “I opened this restaurant when I was 18 years old. Firstly, I love these dishes, and secondly, it’s to make money”

Lucas raised his eyebrows. “You’re the Woolery family’s daughter. How can you be short of money to spend?”

was thirteen. My parents are very stingy and can’t bear to give me pocket money, I can only earn it

“I’ve been working to earn money since I wa myself”

Pearl felt as comfortable in the Serenity Chamber as she would in her own home. After washing her hands, she sat at the table and carefully poured a cup of warm water, assuming a practiced posture. With a gentle tone, she asked, “Would you like to have Kona Coffee or Civet Coffee!”

Lucas watched Pearl’s graceful movements and said, “Kona Coffee, please.”

While waiting for their meal, Pearl and Lucas discussed their plans for running the horse ranch and encountered some differences of opinion. Lucas advocated for a more extravagant approach to management, while Pearl leaned toward a more down–to–earth and accessible style.

“I know what you mean. You want to expand our client base so that more people can get involved. But have you considered that with Nanston’s current level of economic development, there’s probably only a small group of people who have spare money to learn equestrianism? To put it blundy, equestrianism is an aristocratic sport. It needs a lot of money. We have to take into account the investments and benefits it costs to raise a horse. Doing business isn’t doing charity

Lucas looked like a playboy, but when it came to business, he had a proper attitude and his own opinions.

Pearl book a sip of coffee and said unhurriedly, “Charity is for fame, and business is for profit. In essence, I’m a businessman. Of course, I have to look at benefits,

Pearl handed a folder to Lucas and said, “This contains the per capita consumption levels for the three cities: Machodean, Nanston, and Beaudale. Machodean has the highest per capita consumption level with the widest income disparity, followed by Beaudale. Nansion has the lowest per capita consumption level among these three cities, but it’s experiencing the fastest growth. The northern suburb is unique because it’s situated at the junction of the northern parts of Machodem, Nanston, and Beaudale. So, we need to take into account the consumption levels of all three major

As Pearl spoke, Lucas flipped through the documents. The information was very detailed and obvious

“Equestrianism used to be an anocratic sport. It had a highs threshold and was niche. However, as the standard of living hus improved, especially since our generation has become parents, more and more parents have placed the focus of their families on murturing their children. Letting their children learn how to ride horses from a young age is as important as learning vocal music and foreign languages. Tid rather say that I want to make the aristocratic sport more child–friendly than just making it more accessible to the common people.”

Pearl said. “The northern suburbs are so big. It’s a pity to only establish a private horse ranch. What if it’s an open horse ranch? It will be free, and everyone come to play equally here. There will be diversified projects, including children’s playgrounds, libraries, hot springs, barbecues, leisure, parties, and so on. Wouldn’t it be good to let the common customers have a high–level experience at the cheapest price while we keep the part of the private horse ranch!”

Lucas listened to Pearl’s logical words. It was obvious that she had been fully prepared Lucas was both surprised and delighted by Pearl’s statement.

Lucas clicked his tongue and commented, “Your ambition is truly grand. Are you trying to fill your own pockets with both the money and the rich“”

Pearl smiled. “It’s our pockets
