Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Zephaniah immediately stopped looking around the room. He noticed the tall man on the sofa who seemed intimidating. Normally, if a young child were to meet a man like Augustine, he would definitely tremble in fright at the man's cold aura.
However, to Zephaniah, this man was approachable. In Zephaniah's eyes, Augustine was the image of his daddy. Hence, he waved his little hand and put on an adorable smile.
Augustine was instantly shocked when he saw the child's appearance. His calm expression was significantly rattled. This child bore a striking resemblance to him. He looked exactly the same as his childhood self.
He had a delicate face and his complexion was porcelain-like. His features were well-defined and they had the perfect contour. Even though he was still young and his face had yet to mature into its full glory, he recognized himself in this child. His facial features and demeanor reminded him of himself.
While he was still in shock, the little guy spoke in a serious manner to the assistant, "Can you go out first? I want to talk to my uncle about some private matters."
Assistant Yallop was startled. She looked into the boss's eyes and she wanted to confirm whether this child was his nephew.
Augustine waved his hand and signalled for her to leave.
Assistant Yallop was astounded. Was this child really the boss's nephew?
Hearing the door close behind him, Zephaniah stared at the man in front of him and he apologized sincerely. "I'm sorry, Mr. Giltstone. I wanted to meet you, so I lied to them, saying that I am your nephew. You won't blame me for this, right?"
"Why do you want to see me?" Augustine's handsome face was tense, and there was a hint of urgency in his low and hoarse voice. NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
"I came to see you because I wanted to give you my mommy's resume." After that, the little guy took out a folded resume from his backpack, and handed it to him.
Augustine didn't know why he was being so patient. He reached out and took the paper. When he looked at the resume, which couldn't be considered a real resume, with a photo of a woman on it, his eyebrows were knitted instantly. "Your mommy wants to apply for a job in this company?"
The little guy immediately raised his eyebrows and nodded seriously. "Yes! My mommy wants to apply to be your girlfriend."
"Your mommy?" Augustine suppressed his laughter. Looking at this audacious little guy, Augustine felt a sense of incredulity. The handwriting was probably the kid's handwriting, and it was considerably neat.
"Kid, I'm not interested in your mommy, but I'm very interested in you. Tell me, what's your name? How old are you?" Inexplicably, Augustine felt like getting to know the little boy.
This was the first time in his life that he was so curious about something. Where did this little guy come from?
Zephaniah pouted and looked at him in disappointment. "Why aren't you interested in my mommy? She's very beautiful."
"You came looking for me just to hand me this resume?" Augustine raised his eyebrows and laughed.
"Yes!" The little guy nodded seriously. "My mommy is pitiful. She works overtime every day and also needs to take care of me. I want to find her an excellent boyfriend. I think you are very suitable to be
my mommy's boyfriend."
Augustine sneered in his heart. Women nowadays could do anything to get close to him. Just because this child looked like him, she made use of him?
"Kid, I'm not interested in being your mommy's boyfriend. Go back and tell your mommy not to use you to approach me next time. It's useless," Augustine warned him patiently.
Zephaniah blinked a few times and he pursed his lips. "My mommy didn't ask me to come here! I wanted to come here personally. I wanted to meet you."
Augustine raised his eyebrows curiously. "Why do you want to meet me?"
"I think that you look like my daddy!" Zephaniah pressed his lips together, and his large eyes were watery. The little boy looked at Augustine in a pitiful manner, as if he was about to cry.
Augustine's eyes widened. He asked as gently as possible, "You don't have a daddy?"
