Chapter 394
Chapter 394
Lumma believed she was in trouble.
The images in her mind grew more and more explicit.
If this continued, she wouldn’t be able to sleep all night.
“Ugh!
Too bad.
What am I supposed to do?”
Twisting and turning, she opened the music app on her phone and searched for a meditation mantra.
After she listened to it for some time, the forbidden thoughts refused to leave her mind.
She was bound to lose sleep tonight.
Adam was also wide awake and restless.
After finishing, chatting with Lumma, he couldn’t bear to put his phone away. He carefully read through the messages Lumma had sent him that night, word by word, afraid of missing anything.
Lumma’s words seemed to come alive.
It was like she was whispering in his ear.
He heard her call out to his name.
He heard her declare her love for him who was her husband. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
He heard her share the joys of her day.
For a moment, he was eager to rush out of the room and tell her that he was right there beside her. All that she had to do was turn around.
Adam thought he was just imagining it, but when he came to his senses, he found himself standing at the door.
He pressed a hand to his forehead and chuckled ruefully.
What was happening to him?
How could one woutan have such a profound effect on him?
He couldn’t make sense of it..
As Lumma had predicted, she couldn’t escape work on the first day of the new year.
She and Leonard followed Adam to wrap up the aftermath of the explosion, working non–stop for two whole days. On the third day, Lumma asked for leave, took her passport, and boarded a flight from Preivlille to Fenice at night.
After an hour and a half in the air, she landed smoothly in Fenice.
Keeley was afraid that George’s people would spot her at the airport, so she arranged for a driver to pick Lumma up instead.
Lumma traveled light and quickly hopped into the waiting car, which whisked her away to a farm.
The journey took about an hour, and Keeley was already waiting there.
As soon as the car stopped, Keeley ran over and held Lumma tightly. “Lumma, it’s so good to see you again.”
Lumma hugged Keeley back, feeling both happy and sad. “Me too!”
Keeley said, “When I decided to leave Soothy City, I thought I would never see you again. I never expected that we would meet again so soon.”
Lumma held Keeley tightly. “It’s fate that brings us together. I’m so happy to see you again.”
