Chapter Nine- Meeting her? A bad way to start the day
“Good evening sir”
Anderson was greeted as he passed by different workers in his company… Well, specifically, it was his dad’s.
“Good morning.”
He replied and when he got tired at some point, he took to nodding instead of replying.
He walked towards the private elevator and when he pushed the button, it opened up revealing someone already in it.
The elevator was holding his sister in it.
“Hello Andy”
April greeted with a smirk on her face.
“Wipe off that smirk from your face, And wait… Andy?”
He scrunched his eyebrow.
“Yes. Andy”
April replied.
“Why are you suddenly calling me Andy?”
“Because I want to, Andy”
“Look here. I don’t want you calling me that. The only person authorized to call me that is mom, and bless us, she graces us with her presence in the spirit.”
Anderson stated firmly.
“And fvck! we’re not even close to April. Wtf is wrong with you?”
Anderson asked in annoyance.
“Look behind you”
April ordered calmly.
“And what’s behind me?”
Anderson asked.
“Just look”
April replied.
Anderson looked behind him and saw some workers standing with their mouths open in a surprised state. Then it slowly dawned on him that he spoke in a rather loud voice.
“I pay y’all to stare bunkers at me right?” Anderson asked and folded his hands on his chest.
“No sir.”
With that, they scurried back to what they were doing.
They were getting on Anderson’s nerves. If they could stare at him when he was there, then it meant they could also discuss him as a gossip topic if he wasn’t around.
“I need to go somewhere. You step in or not?”
April asked from behind him.
Anderson looked back at the person in the elevator and sighed. He wished he could take another elevator, but the other ones available were the public ones for his employees, and for all he knew, they could all be swamped right at the moment. He needed to go see his father immediately.
He reluctantly stepped into the elevator and braced himself up for whatever was gonna happen. His sister was mean to the extent that if she was given the chance, she’d get rid of him.
The elevator door dinged and closed behind him and he went on to stay at the far end of the elevator. If he was going to stay here with April, he’d better mind his pick.
“Staying far away huh? I like that you know what I can do.”
April smiled but Anderson didn’t respond.
He wasn’t going to let her words get to him, he decided.
April looked at him when he didn’t reply and smirked. Toughening up huh? She decided to just ask him a casual question to lift the tension there.
“What floor are you stopping at?”
She asked.
“I’ll get down when I get there.”
Anderson replied and swiped through his phone.
“Whatever. Suit yourself.”Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
April answered and clutched the tiny cosmetic bag in her hand a little bit firmer.
The movement and sound of this made Anderson look up from his phone and toward her.
He looked down at the bag.
GREEN COSMETICS was boldly written on it.
That was a subdivision of Green Empire and it was gifted to April to manage on her 19th birthday.
She had loved beauty care, cosmetic work, and makeup since she was Thirteen and had usually visited Green cosmetics to learn how to make some beauty products.
She loved working on beauty stuff and their father decided letting her be the CEO would be a good birthday gift for her when she clocked 19.
‘What was she doing here with that bag and the files he just noticed?’
He thought.
Then suddenly it clicked that maybe she was here to see his Dad. OK, ‘Their’ dad.
“But what for?”
He asked in his head.
The elevator dinged and Anderson noticed they were on the 5th floor which held his office and Dad’s own.
April pushed one of the buttons and the elevator door opened up. She stepped out and Anderson followed suit.
“Hi, Mr. Green”
April greeted with a smile as soon as she entered her dad’s office and saw him.
“April Green. How’re you?”
Her dad asked.
“I’ve been fine, what about you sir?”
“I’m good. Take a seat.”
Simon Green offered and April sat.
“So what brings you here?”
He asked.
“I came to show you some samples of the new products I’m releasing this weekend. I believe it’s gonna shake the world of cosmetics around the industry and you’re the first person I’m showing it to. Well, publicly, because a few of my workers have seen it already”
“That’s great. Show me the samples April.”
“Alright, Sir.”
April answered and dipped her hand into the bag. One by one, she brought out the contents and when everything was on the table, she explained the uses to him and tried it out on her face in front of him.
Meanwhile…
Anderson went to the coffee machine beside his own office, made a cup, and decided to have it there.
After drinking it up, he made another one and started walking toward his Dad’s office.
“Take over the clothing line”
He heard his dad say.
He couldn’t believe his ears. Did he just hear that or were his ears playing pranks on him?
He pushed the door to his dad’s office and one look on April’s face told it all.
Her face was filled with satisfaction written all over it. She had a satisfied smirk sitting on her lips and Anderson realized what just happened.
She had coerced their dad into handing her the clothing line that was under him, and it had happened so suddenly!
“What just happened here?”
Anderson asked, feigning an initial ignorance of whatever he heard.
“Oh Anderson, you’re here”
Mr. Green said.
“Yes, I am.”
Anderson replied.
“And I asked what just happened here, Dad.”
“Are you directing your question to me?”
His father asked with an eyebrow raised and Anderson huffed.
“Well.”
Anderson said, clamped his hands on his chest, and leaned against the wall after closing the door behind him.
“Who’d I be talking to otherwise?”
