Part 70 # After the Accident
Seno smiled broadly upon hearing the words of the hired assassin he had hired. This time, the mission didn’t fail like in the beginning.
“Great!” He cheered happily.C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
It wasn’t in vain for Seno to pay a professional hitman, after being outsmarted by fate before. Since Lara disappeared and Mahya hacked into Seno’s system, he realized that something was amiss.
Seno tracked Mahya’s activities and checked the surveillance cam’s footage at the location of Lara’s abduction. Mahya’s car was captured by the dashboard camera of a nearby delivery van, despite bypassing the surveillance cam’s footage that should have captured its tracks.
Seno was furious! He immediately tried to find Mahya’s whereabouts, but it was difficult. Mahya supposedly moved house.
Shortly afterward, Seno’s subordinates reported the hacking of their system by a hacker on their server. Seno soon realized that Mahya was a dangerous person. He then took action to eliminate both of them: Mahya and his ex-wife, Lara.
“HAHA! Finally!”
Mahya didn’t realize it, but Seno wasn’t foolish. He tracked Mahya’s hidden internet protocol (IP) address. The IT team from S-Group took four days to uncover that Mahya’s fake IP, which referred to a Russian IP, was actually in Indonesia.
“Sly and crazy b****! They’re a perfect match!” Seno cursed while angrily squeezing his phone. But all his efforts and patience paid off with their deaths today.
“They think I didn’t anticipate this? Mahya even came to the office to retrieve data? What a foolish girl! She fell into the trap!”
Olivia-sitting beside Seno-raised her eyebrows. “What’s gotten into you, Darling? Why are you rambling on endlessly by yourself?” she asked curiously. She then reached for a cigarette and lit it promptly.
“Hey! Open the window first!” Seno snapped before answering Olivia’s question.
“Ugh… Fine,” she grumbled as she lazily got up from the bed and opened the window as requested. “Now, spill it! What’s so good? Did you find that w***?”
For the past few days, Seno had seemed restless. It was the first time Olivia had seen her new husband so happy. Yes, her new husband. They had just casually registered their marriage with the civil registry.
“Not only found her, but… killed her!” Seno grinned gleefully.
Olivia swallowed hard. Her hands trembled from the intense shock she felt. “K-killed her?” She repeated Seno’s statement. Olivia never knew that Seno would be capable of doing such a thing to Lara.
It’s true that Olivia despised Lara. But… to kill Lara, Olivia was still sane enough not to do it. Indeed, that was not what she expected from competing with Lara! Suddenly, Olivia felt her chest tighten. She tried to take deep breaths and calm herself down.
“Yes! Killed her! And… you better not stir up trouble either, if you don’t want to end up like Lara,” he said sternly while buttoning his shirt.
“O-okay.” Olivia only nodded weakly and looked away. She didn’t agree with the way Seno handled things with spilled blood.
Meanwhile, at the accident scene, ambulances and police cars were quickly parked. The officers rushed toward the wrecked car, each with their own tasks according to their unit.
“Over here!” shouted a police officer upon seeing Mahya’s black car, wrecked and lying by the roadside. Some of his colleagues immediately set up yellow tape and sterilized the hazardous area. Other officers seemed to assist in the evacuation process to make it quick and safe.
Thanks to her quick thinking, Lara managed to dial the emergency number, though she didn’t have time to say anything. The officers promptly traced Lara’s location and sent help there.
“Make way!” a medic yelled at the crowd of road users swarming the scene.
Some police officers parted the crowd and assisted the paramedics’ process to quickly help the victims. Meanwhile, the paramedics moved swiftly to evacuate Lara and Mahya, who seemed to be severely injured.
Several curious onlookers began to gather around, creating a crowd that narrowed the rescuers’ movement space. Luckily, the police helped them, allowing the rescuers to reach the victims quickly.
“Ma’am! Can you hear me?” asked a paramedic while checking the vital signs of the victim. The driver’s face was severely injured, with open wounds on the forehead and chest, possibly with some bone fractures too! Glass shards were stuck around her body. The victim’s hair was stained with blood, clumping together like newly spun wool threads.
“Ma’am!” the medic repeated. But there was no response. The driver had completely lost consciousness. “Hey! Bring the stretcher over here!” the medic shouted after examining her patient.
Meanwhile, other officers focused on Lara. They asked the same question, hoping this time the passenger could be somewhat conscious. “Ma’am! Excuse me! Can you hear me?”
For a moment, there was no response as expected. But moments later, a faint voice began to be heard.
“Help…” mumbled Lara with a gasping breath. Her eyes squinted trying to focus on the paramedic trying to help her. She was grateful, it seems… her call reached them too.
“Ma’am! Stay awake, Ma’am!” the officer shouted as he lifted Lara out of the wrecked car. He laid Lara on a stretcher- a stretcher bed- and then took her to the nearby ambulance.
“Ugh…” Lara groaned softly, enduring the painful wounds all over her body. Slowly, she heard the officers reporting about this accident incident.
“The driver is severely injured, open wounds on the face and chest, there may be some bone fractures!”
“What about the passenger?”
“The passenger is still conscious. There don’t seem to be any serious visible injuries. Maybe internal injuries or a concussion,” one of the officers answered with concern.
Meanwhile, Lara could still hear the words of the officers.
“Ma’am, we’re going to take you to the hospital. Try to stay calm and stay awake, okay?” a paramedic said while placing oxygen on Lara.
“Please help us, we’re going to get you out of the car now,” another paramedic said to her. With a stretched smile, the officer hoped to calm Lara’s heart.
Lara just blinked. She was sure, these paramedics would surely provide the expected assistance.
The officers worked efficiently, ensuring that the victims received treatment as quickly as possible. They also examined every wound and installed the necessary medical equipment. Lara and the severely injured driver were promptly taken to the hospital.
The rescue process was intense and tense. Lara and Mahya didn’t even realize that the accident wasn’t an unintended incident, but… was planned by someone who held a grudge against them.
Meanwhile, at the ER, a passing doctor asked, “Lara?! Is the accident patient named Lara?” His expression looked anxious when an ambulance approached. Vaguely, he saw a face he recognized. Lara.
The woman had been missing for some time. Andre hadn’t even heard any news about her. Her house was even sold. They said Lara had moved.
What was suspicious was… Seno! Lara’s husband had married someone else. Truly absurd! But, the
oddity seemed to be only felt by him. Other business colleagues didn’t care about personal matters like that.
“Yes, Doctor! The patient who just came in is named Lara Selene Smith.”
