Chapter 18: Crashing the Wedding
Chapter 18: Crashing the Wedding
I walked along the red carpet leading to the hotel's entrance. Before I could enter, a security guard
stopped me and asked to see my invitation.
In fact, I had already prepared a forged invitation, but I did not show it to him. Instead, I kicked up a
fuss.
"Are you blind? I'm the bride's elder sister. Why do I still need to show you my invitation?"
At this time, there were still guests heading into the hotel. They turned to look at me and started
whispering among themselves at my antics.
This was exactly what I wanted. I was not afraid to cause a ruckus, and I wanted it to be as big as
possible.
The security guards did not dare to get into a fight with me. One of them headed inside and brought
Bell out with him a little while later.
He was a little surprised to see me. I could see the fury that immediately started to burn in his eyes.
"You're not invited to your sister's wedding. What are you doing here?" He growled at me.
"You said so yourself. It's my sister's wedding, so shouldn't I be present to give her my blessings?
Phoebe did verbally invite me, you know!"
Bell snorted. "I know you well enough to know that there's no way you'd be that kind."
"If so, I'm sorry to say that you really don't know me all that well, then. I have to attend this wedding no
matter what!" I said obstinately.
At such a time and place, I was not intimidated by Bell at all.
Bell frowned at my words. He knew it was not the right time for him to act up, so he gave it some
thought and said, "I won't make things hard for you in view of the circumstances. You can attend if you
want to, but you'd better be on your best behavior. Don't think of pulling anything funny, or you'll be in
for it!"
"Honestly, do you need to treat a wedding like you're going to war?" I chuckled.
Threatening me?
If I did not have the guts to face the consequences, I would not have come!
Bell did not respond. He waved a hand at the security guards to allow me to enter, his face red with
rage.
I was not afraid of humiliation, but he was.
I strode into the banquet hall, which was decorated lavishly. It was almost completely filled with guests.
Bell was right behind me the whole time. He made me sit at a table somewhere near the corner.
This seat was a distance away from the stage, probably because Bell wanted me to go unnoticed. I sat
down unceremoniously and started to take in my surroundings.
I wanted to see whether I could spot any familiar faces before the wedding started, but there were
none. A man I did not know came over to flirt with me, though, but I gave him the cold shoulder.
It was a little noisy in the banquet hall, but silence fell when the host started the proceedings. I looked
in the host's direction and saw Leonard. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
He had a black, tailor-made tuxedo and black tie on. His hair was neatly styled, which made him look
classy and elegant.
No one would expect a man like himself to be so wild in bed. In fact, I was a little puzzled about which
side of him was the true Leonard Nell.
Suddenly, I felt rather bitter. This was a scene that I had imagined countless times, except that I would
be in Phoebe's shoes.
