Chapter 31: A Withdraw Notice
Chapter 31: A Withdraw Notice
Spencer was nervous on her way to the principal’s office.
Annie was about to go with her together, but Spencer insisted on going to the office alone.
She felt under huge pressure as she stood in front of the office.
Although Paige started it, but she was the principal’s loving daughter.
However, their principal was always serious and right-hearted, and he’d do justice to her.
The scenario couldn’t be worse than being expelled.
She took a deep breath before knocking on the door.
“Come in.”
She walked in, finding the principal was busy with his files on the desk, who dropped his pen as she
stepped over his desk.
He was an almost-bold man of over forty years, with little silver hair left on his head.
Short and fat, he wore a pair of reading glasses, with a big black mole on his face.
Spencer couldn’t believe he was the campus queen’s father.
She greeted politely, “Good morning, Principal!”
“Well, Miss Sharp, I wonder if you aware that you’ve made a big trouble for our school.”
The principal stare her down without any expression.
Spencer wanted to explain, “Sir, I didn’t…”
“Save it. What’s done is done. Our reputation has been damaged.”
The principal snapped, interrupting her explanation.
Then he took out a piece of paper from his drawer, placing a pen on it.
“Here’s your files of withdraw notice. Sign it.”
Actually, he didn’t want her to leave as she was the most impressive student he’d ever seen.
She was nice and many teachers liked her.
But his daughter hated Spencer so much that Spencer had to leave.
Spencer sneered. Their principal was not so integrative as she thought he’d be.
She explained again, “I’m sorry, but you’ve wronged me. I…”
“Just sign it now.”
Another callous interruption got her on nerves, and she clenched her fists.
He had no right to expel her for no reason, even if he was their principle.
Her heart was filled with grievance.
On the spur of the moment, she was angry enough to grab the pen, tending to sign the files.
After all, she’d end up in D City in couple of days, where she’d go to a new school.
But she stopped with the pen in her hand as she saw the cause was her starting a fight with her
classmates…
If she’s expelled for this reason, she’d be rejected by any other schools she’d apply for.
Did he set her up in this way?
Screw him! He had crossed the line.
She clenched her fists, narrowing her eyes on him. “Never shall I sign it.”
Principal rose to his feet and sputtered, “If you don’t sign it, I’ll call your parents here to sign it.”
He knew she had broken ties with her family. He didn’t think she’d be pleased to confront with her
family in his office.
He was certain that she’d knuckle under and sign it.
Call her family here?
Was he threatening her?
She sneered, “Go ahead.”
Then she turned back to leave his office.
“Spencer Sharp!”
He said with his gritted teeth, stopping her steps. Spencer was curious about how angry he could be.
Suddenly, the principal’s phone rang.
She didn’t know who called, but the principal was buttering him, smiling ingratiatingly.
Who’d be so capable to turn the cocky principal into a brown-nose.
The principal was ingratiatingly saying “Yes, sir” to the phone.
After hanging up, he looked up to her, smiling ingratiatingly, too.
Spencer was surprised by his smile as he walked up to her. “Miss Sharp, sit down, please.”
Spencer was confused.
In a daze, she was pressed down onto the couch, and the principal exclaimed, “Make yourself at home.
If you want some beverage, just help yourself!”
It was ridiculous to see his shaking flab in his face, as well as his big black mole, while he was smiling
ingratiatingly.
Smothering her laugh, she wondered what he was up to.
“Sir, what are you doing?”
He patted his own hands and licked his lips. “What?”
“You want me to sign the files to expel me, remember?”
The principal widened his eyes with shock. “Really?”
“Oh, I see. Well, I was kidding. You know You’re too hard-working and uptight. I thought you’d need
some humor. Just relax.”
Then he tore the files up in pieces and dumped them in the trash-bin.
Spencer was confused until it dawned on her that it might be the secret call changed the principal’s
attitude.
The man called must be overbearing and powerful, who could be able to manipulate the principal…
An image of a handsome man flashed across her mind…
She was lost in her thoughts when a voice came from the above. “Miss Sharp, I’m so sorry for the
mistake. Just let it go, okay?”
She looked up to find him standing beside her, a cup of coffee in his hand for her.
“Here you are, Miss Sharp. It’s Blue Mountain coffee which is popular with you youngsters. Try it, and I
prepare another whole box for you.”
Spencer was amused by the brown-nose and stood up suddenly, taking over the coffee. “Thank you.
How nice of you!”
Her lips quirked up as she took over the cup, shaking her hand to pour the coffee on his white shirt
purposely as if what happened was an accident. Then the cup fell to the ground, broken in pieces with
a loud crash.
She squealed with fake shock, looking down at the ground.
“I’m so sorry, sir. My wrist is a bit sore as I studied too late last night.”
The principal aguishly looked at the broken cup which was gifted by the former provincial governor last
month. There were another seven. All the eight cups were worth about 130 thousand dollars. One
broken, the other three would be of no value.
Why did he present her with such a treasure?
His heart was now smashed in pieces just like the broken cup on the floor.
Worse, he couldn’t shit on Spencer. The powerful man warned him not to piss off Spencer, otherwise,
he’d lose his job.
He smiled unwillingly. “Never mind. Hard working for your study, huh? I’ve had those tough days, too.”
Amusement was dancing behind Spencer’s eyes as he heard what the principal said. Grandpa loved to
collet antiques and taught her how to assess and evaluate them.
If she was right, the broken cup was produced in Shang Dynasty (B.C.1600-B.C.1046), ancient and
valuable.
Leveling a look to the principal, she laughed on the inside but said bashfully, “But I smeared your floor.”
“That’s alright. The janitors will handle clean it up.”
“And your shirt?”
“It’s okay. I’ll take it home to wash.”
Spencer suddenly lifted her head with a big smile. “You’re so nice to me.”
“By the way, are you burnt by the hot coffee?
Which reminded him of the searing pain on his chest.
It became worse and worse, and he began to burrow his eyebrows. The unbearable pain almost drove
him mad, but his fury was strained by the powerful man’s words.
He instantly shrugged his shoulders, flashing a carefree smile. “You’re kidding. It’s not hot. Actually, it’s
cold.”
Then Spencer purposely widened her eyes and questioned, “How could you pour me cold coffee? I’d
have a stomachache.”
He was dumbfounded as he felt he was set up by her.
Spencer was satisfied with his dumb face as she had successfully retaliated.
“Sir, I’m leaving for class.”
The principal instantly nodded and said “okay” as he almost lost his temper. However, after a while, she
was still in his office. He couldn’t help but to ask, “Anything else I could help you with?” NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
She blinked her eyes with her innocent expression. “Don’t you forget something?”
He looked around by instinct as he just asked her to sign the files.
Which she didn’t have to do now. What else?
Spencer kindly reminded him, “Blue Mountain coffee. You said you’d give me a box of the coffee.”
